Photo TR: Chuck Finally Returns to Japan with TPR
TBpony414 replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Some of your captions have me laughing out loud, like Robb's "look to your left which is my right!" and "I am a whale shark and I swim in a tank for 1 hour." The dolphin boat experience is certainly different and would never happen in America. Is there a POV somewhere of the log flume? I don't recall its name. Steep flume drops are really the only thing that scare me so I would love to ride it. -
Restaurant T-Rex looks amazing!!! The food looks delicious and the decor is really amazing and is different than I imagined. The last time I was in Orlando we were so tired after park hopping all day that we grabbed something fast and crashed in the hotel every night except one, when we went to Planet Hollywood. Next time I'm definitely going to T-Rex!

Nice photos, glad you had a great day at the park. The last photo of Pompeii is great! Looking forward to your report from Kings Dominion, which has more intense rides but is nowhere near as nicely themed. It's a trade-off for sure. -

Commenting to say I'm following along! I've read other TDS reports before and the place looks amazing. I've been to WDW 3 times and am always amazed at how detailed and special the place is in person. Pictures don't do it justice and I can only imagine that is magnified at DisneySea. That Toy Story Fast Pass line is something else! Are all the rides in Japanese or is everything dually dubbed in English as well? Your TR mentioned that Toy Story was in Japanese but what about the Highland Tower of Terror? I've not had a lot of experiences traveling abroad so am just curious how that works. Which Disney park has Pooh's Honey Hut? -
Having a Like button is lazy and on other forums I've visited where there is also a dislike button it's caused a lot of unnecessary drama. People do indeed +/- posts instead of participating in discussions, overall I prefer the way the TPR boards are currently. If you like a post, quote it and say so! Easy enough Question: What is the back story on "Nina Kleppe likes this"? I have been visiting TPR for a while but don't recall where it comes from. Is it an inside joke, or some random clip art? I have no idea but would be grateful if someone could fill me in!

Insane Coaster Wars Season Two!
TBpony414 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Still enjoying this series. I can't imagine riding X2 over 1600 times!!! That's definitely eXtreme. Deathbydinn, how many times did they tape you all riding the coaster? It seems like they tape the folks on the waterslide show about 3-4 times (you can tell by the different angles, wet or dry hair, etc.) but I'm curious about the roller coaster taping details. -

Great report Hanno! Wonderful pictures, as always. I am impressed with the details on the trains, especially loving that the back of them lights up like a rocket. Does "Karacho" mean anything? -
Someone falling to their death is horrific and a 90 foot fall into a dark mechanical pit is stomach churning. Such a tragic incident, my sincere condolences to anyone who knew Sarah. I saw a special on TV about a year back all about how Cirque du Soleil prepares for each show and gets the music timed with the right scenes, checking all the harnesses and set pieces, etc. I was thoroughly impressed with how detail-oriented they were about every little thing having to be perfect due to the degree of difficulty for most stunts. It seemed like all the performers were extremely well taken care of and Cirque du Soleil's track record shows that. Having never seen Ka, can someone explain the Battlefield scene? What it's like, what sort of stunts occur, etc. I searched google and youtube but came up with a bunch of gobbledygook nonsensical stuff.

Nice little TR, looks like you had a fun day and got on a lot of rides! I've not been down to BGT yet, hopefully sometime in the next few years I can get a visit in. -
Thanks for the information on the combs used at BBB as well as them using large amounts of concrete gel (lol) and having to manually tease the hair. How long does BBB beauty the process take? I was going to guess about 20 minutes but maybe I'm way off. Abby looks so pleased. I noticed she had a pretty bun vs. additional colored hair. Is this because for younger girls who might pull their long locks out they just do a simpler hairdo? Glad they all had a great time!

Awesome video footage and pictures!!! The tilt coaster looks amazing, the mini-AK lodge looks fun, and the scenery is so pretty. Thanks for sharing! -
TPR's Taiwan Trip - Mini Updates!

LOL at Elissa standing on bricks! It's neat to see a bit of the behind the scenes for ICW. The tunnel on that one coaster looks like it would give a nice chopper effect due to its tiny size. Love the look of the interlocking corkscrews on the other ride! Thanks for posting these enjoyable updates from across the globe. -

Looks like a great start to the trip. Can't wait to follow along with the rest of the TR! -
I can't believe how beautiful the Christmas decorations are! Everything is so perfect, it must really be a sight to see. I have a question about the BBB... How do they get their hair perfectly on top of their heads? It looks like they're using some sort of comb, not a brush, but I don't see any teeth on it and there are no bumps at all in their hair. Please, demystify this for me!! I wear my hair in a constant ponytail but it's a daily battle to have no bumps. My hair is fairly long and thick so I realize this would make it more challenging to put into a high bun but I'm sure you have some stylist secrets you can share Abby's photos really remind me of when I was her age because we share the same facial expression. In almost every picture up until about age 8 I had the exact same temperamental scowl! It never fully goes away and when I'm tired or just stressed out people still think I look angry. Gail looks to be having a grand old time with Abby at the Boutique! Can't wait to see how the Princesses turn out.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
TBpony414 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Washboard" describes Skyrush's outer seats very well. I rode it last year right after opening and yes the restraints were tight but I didn't have a major problem with them, but this year the new padding does improve the experience. The lift slows considerably at the top compared to last year and because of this I found the ride to be more tolerable. It still hauls ass around the course but I didn't get off it feeling like I had my shoulder pulled out of its socket when flying through the twisties. I love a super fast crazy coaster but the trains don't offer the rider any support and it's rough on my body because of that. It's a good ride and hasn't been ruined at all due to the modifications. For those wondering about the front vs. back, the back is definitely more intense but the front is a bit more controlled and therefore more enjoyable IMO. Even though there were a LOT of buses in the parking lot, the actual park was empty all day today and we waited no longer than 15 minutes for anything. The weather was perfect. We didn't even arrive until 3pm and rode: Skyrush 1x Comet 1x Swings 1x SooperDooperLooper 1x (the new trains are great!) Coal Cracker 1x Great Bear 2x Flying Falcon 2x Trailblazer 1x StormRunner 6x Wild Mouse 2x Lightning Racer 2x The Whip 2x Wildcat 1x (Ouch. RMC treatment please?!!!?) Himalaya 1x The Claw 1x Sidewinder 1x Probably going back with a friend in 2 weeks. Hoping for another fun trip although this one was hard to beat! -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
TBpony414 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Heading for a day trip from DC up to the park today (Wed), looking forward to it! My coaster first trip of the season. Can't wait to haul ass on StormRunner (my fav. ride by a mile) and trying not to dislocate a rib while whipping around on Skyrush LOL. I never had a problem with the tightness of the restraints last year but am glad others are noticing and appreciating the changes made. Perhaps a few storms might pass by but other than that it looks to be a good day for hanging out at HP. -

^I noticed that too and figured it was just an editing snafu. Robb, thanks for posting the list of rides included on the show this season. I enjoyed tonight's episode and am really excited to see Volcano featured on a future episode! -
Fun Spot America Discussion Thread

"Fun Spot" seems like an understatement with all the new additions and total makeover! Looks like a really awesome place. I LOVE Himalayas and kick-ass woodies that leave me grinning ear to ear! Haven't seen a ride like Enterprise in years - the last one I rode was Cyclops at Hersheypark many moons ago. The lighting package on it looks great. Way to go Fun Spot for hitting it out of the park! -
Chuck's Busch Gardens Williamsburg Thread

Everything looks very tasty. Thanks for posting this Chuck! I could go for some tiramisu right about now actually. -
Seems like Claire really likes the Toy Story ride! I've never ridden it but on other laser rides I am terrible, always ending up with a pitifully low score. What is YOUR favourite Disney ride? Or top 3 Do you have any trips planned for later this year? I remember you mentioned visiting Williamsburg, VA this past spring so I'll be looking forward to that TR once this one is over... which hopefully won't be for a while, since you are only on day 10 of 14! My family is going to the beach in August for 2 weeks and my mother and I are hoping for a Disney trip next spring together. That seems like a long way away so hopefully you have more in the works that will keep me living vicariously though you until then!

When I read your reports before I actually get in bed (and start snoozing with my laptop open) I can actually comment! Ha. What is different about Cinderella's hair? I'm not a princess follower but the only thing I can note is it looks like she has bangs sticking out of her headband now. Ariel's hair looks off to me though, can't put my finger on it. Guess I'll join you for the stoning: I don't care for Illuminations either. What is so special about it? The globe is kind of cool but spins around slowly and the projections aren't very good, the fireworks are lackluster and the whole thing is sort of boring. However, I do really love Wishes! The fireworks shooting off at the exact precise second really adds to the experience. How come you've been to WDW so many times but have never seen Fantasmic?! That seems like a crime LOL. "We both talked to Skip a bit. Claire is a daddy’s girl and she was missing her Dad. Thank goodness we didn’t have any major issues. Over the past 2 years she has come home from a few overnight stays around 11 PM because she can’t sleep without Daddy’s kiss. I’ve kissed the guy a time or 2 and I don’t think it is THAT special. LOL" ^LMAO!!! Your comments are often hilarious but this one takes the cake!
