  1. It looks so... weird... Hopefully they're isn't any problems with this installation like the others had. I always enjoyed Windseekers regardless of whether they are thrilling. I like to consider them as a step above an old observation tower.
  2. For those who dont speak Spanish, that means the ride officially opens June 14 Translated from google, since my actual spanish comprehension is still dusty:
  3. ^ I know! I really miss that animation from the website. It was fun to sit back and watch the tiny dots move around the "track." Edit: I couldn't find a working animation, but I think this was the company that did it. Here is the website Look at the detail. Ahhhh memories... Mini Dragster and Magnum BRING THIS BACK PLEASE!!!
  4. Ah screw it. Just quit your job! There's this thing called welfare where you don't have to work and you receive all kinds of money. You even get this card that looks like a check card, where you can go to the grocery store and get 2 or 3 carts full of food for free! Meanwhile, if you play your cards right, you can get a free cell phone, probably better than the one I saved months for. And, I almost forgot, you can signup to get your utility bills paid for you as well. This should provide plenty of money for a ticket, parking, and even flash pass!!! What are you thinking with the job stuff?!!! lol This post made my day and supports my argument about how messed up welfare is. But I'm going to dodge a bullet and not start a political debate on this forum and just leave it as it is.
  5. Paula? Noooo, she would never do such a thing...
  6. Any plans for vegetation or some sort of theming? Or is the entrance going to just be surrounded by tall wooden fences with dirt/sod on the other side in a large clearing...
  7. ^ I'm guessing since you're from St Louis, you're still a little bitter about last year's Boomerang at SFSTL. I'm still anticipating that the actual hints in diary entries will be sporadic and then, toward the actual announcement, really start giving big clues. And some of the hints may just be throwing us for a loop (pun intended).
  8. Watch towards the end of this. That is a very big pit... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  9. Also at the park today. I can attest to the abysmal operations for Lightning Run and Deep Water Dive (even though they were both the highlights of my visit ) Loved Lightning Run despite only getting one ride in the back row. My first drop capsule on the tallest body slide in America was pretty terrifying, but fun nonetheless! Line jumping was AWFUL. Security needs to beefed up around the park, because I rarely saw any of them around. Mini-rant about Deep Water Dive: 2 minute dispatches for one person at a time makes a line that appears really short actually turn out to be very, very long. I did love the enthusiastic girl that loved her job working while I was riding (for those there, it was around 12:30). Something can be done to speed up this line. I also have a mini rant on Lightning Run: Why are these ops so uninterested in this job? Literally all three of them had sour faces and moved at a snail pace. Plus, they stacked the ride with two trains, and the dispatches were probably 3-4 minutes each. Like I said, this is just a matter of more training for more efficency. I understand people are getting used to their job, but the fact that they already hate their job after 2 weeks really irritates me. The park has a great start, but it's a marathon, not a sprint. Still many improvements in the park to be made (two that particularly stick out are the queues for arguably the biggest attractions in the dry side, LR and Fearfall). I, too, am anticipating on returning in 2015 with the reopening of T2 and Blizzard River as well as many other things. One thing that I found hilarious is that Holiday World stuck a billboard literally right next to Kentucky Kingdom, being located Ron the interstate across from the airport. Just made me chuckle. As I said above, some of these improvements take time, and Kentucky Kingdom only had a year (probably less than that actually) to get this abandoned park running in great condition. For what it is, they did a very good job. You just need to know that this is not a finished product.
  10. Thanks guys! Is Deluge still closed? The park's website states that all of the water attractions are open, but reports from last weekend said it was closed with a lot of work to do...
  11. While this benefits capacity (which Cedar Point is known to excel in already), I see a wave of complaints about how Cedar Fair is just being money grabbers coming in if they further implement this to all of the coasters. I do wish the one time use lockers were free for 2 hours max though...
  12. I know it's really early to be judging crowd sizes, but does anyone have a reasonable estimate for Sunday's crowds?
  13. I'd honestly just go the cheaper route and put a chained queue on the outside of the entrance and lining the edge of the path. Or a permanent fence like Vortex. This is what I'm talking about.
  14. Well, I remember from a back stage tour at Hershey Park that both Intamin and Mack put in a bid for the Skyrush project. The park actually, slightly preferred Mack's design, but Intamin was significantly less expensive. Really? I'd figure it would've been the other way around... I figured Intamin and B&M are the top tier of the most expensive coasters followed by Mack and/or Vekoma for steel coasters.
  15. I am going to sound weird by saying this, but the OTSR's don't bother me. When I put my arms up, they won't whip me forward like on TTD, and it makes for a more pleasant experience in MY opinion. Well considering your arms are supposed to be down during the launch, this shouldn't be a problem in the first place.
  16. For those who went, how are the prices on food and drinks? Also, what about parking? Thanks in advance!
  17. I understand the complaints about the lack of physical theming, but you've also got to realize that they can change the scenes of the ride potentially every year, plus the above mentioned Halloween Haunt theme. I see it as an innovative way for the park to keep the ride fresh every year!
  18. This ride will be great for this area's market since most people in the KC area have never ridden any other Windseeker before this. Hoping there are no more major problems with this particular installation.
  19. Why are you so persistent about a floorless??? Have you even ridden a Floorless? They aren't that appealing to begin with. Having ridden Hydra (Allentown is closer than Orlando) and Kraken, they are nothing to write to home about. B&M is just unrealistic for Holiday World's market. I also do not want a B&M to begin with. Having ridden Manta, I put my money on Mack. One more thing, as much as I would like this to be intense and thrilling, HW needs an in-between coaster to fill the gap from the Howler to the Raven. Needless to say, that doesn't mean it can't be awesome!
  20. As much as I want the coaster to be announced now, I don't want the fun to be sucked out of the official announcement with a layout leak. Id rather it stay a secret... Edit: read the article and saw it was actually part of the media package. I still stand by my statement and don't want anything to be fully announced until July.
  21. I hopefully be there in a week to take it for a whirl myself. I'm trusting that these reviews of how potentially amazing it is are right. The layout looks wonderful from what I've seen.
  22. This has been my go-to now for the past few years to ride it. Funny thing is, I find the Voyage very aggressive, yet I love it to death (don't call it home park fanboy-ism because I know there are better wood coasters out there). I wouldn't necessarily say it has super ejector air, but it has some regular ejector moments throughout the course. I can marathon about 7-8 laps before I call it quits on it, but one ride per day is enough for me with Magnum. It's just the terrible lap bars I hate more than anything.
  23. Alright I've been wanting to ask this question since we are on the topic of Magnum right now (though it has nothing to do with the collision). Here's a little backstory: Every year since 2003, either my family or just myself has made a trip up to the Point for a day or two. Every year we ride ALL of the coasters in the park minus Woodstock and Jr. Gemini, even the "problem children" (what I like to call the coasters that suck). Every year there is one particular problem child that I give a second chance to because it's highly regarded by many enthusiasts. Every year, I brace my self for the triangle hills at the end, and everytime I end up with the world's worst lap bar constantly beating my upper thighs. And, every year I end up disliking the ride more. So... My question goes out to the people who have ridden "perfect rides" on it and are Magnum-lovers. What do you do to get a "legendary ride" on this ride??? Tightening the seatbelt as much as it can go didn't do much for me, so what is it? Is there another magic seat (I've already tried 1-3 and no such luck)? If you need any background on me: I'm 6'2" and consider myself to be athletic (Distance runner) so I have fairly muscular thighs. Edit: v I've experienced ejector air on other coasters, but for some reason this ride really beats me up.
  24. ^ If this thing doesn't get fully announced tomorrow, it's going to be a loooong 66 days...
