How's the Slingshot progressing? I'm wondering if they are still expecting to be done by the end of June... Edit: June 10th Blog entry says they are still on track for late June, but I'm still wondering how many pieces are currently up. Also, Tony put a render of what the color scheme of it will be. Orrrrrr, and this is a big OR, it's a picture of a piece of wood with a filter from Photoshop... Of course I don't want to ruin the fun, so I will join in and say that I do see a splash of some sort in the piece of wood. -
The name is not the reason why it's called Yolocoaster on here. Refer to this video on why it has a word filter: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]Hardly anybody on here complains about the ride itself other than its length. In fact, I've heard from quite a few posters regarding it as the best ride in the park. The station, queue and surrounding area, on the other hand, not so much.

For those in the park this week, please keep an eye on the reopening of FoF. I'm heading to the park some time next week and would like to know if it reopens soon. Edit: I'm completely ignorant for not checking the last page. -
Mean Streak. What to do with it?

Actually, you could use the old (though still used) parking lot located directly behind Gemini. It would help make the layout a more out-and-back, though it would be a little narrow. Across the road from Challenge park right behind Gemini as I described above. -

^ Yes, but also at close for the last 20 minutes, The Voyage's and The Legend's stations are pretty much empty. The Raven sometimes still has a short wait that's usually 5 minutes or less. -

I'll just give you my typical schedule. Schedule 9:20 or earlier: Show up to the gate with an advance ticket or your coaster club membership (special discount). 9:30: 2 options... A-Head straight to Splashing Safari and grab a locker if you have a bag for swimsuits, towels, etc. B-Head straight to The Voyage and get as many laps on that as you can and ride other Thanksgiving rides. 10:25-10:29: Time to head to the water park right before it opens 10:30- A large group of teenagers is going to gun it to Mammoth and Wildebeest. Instead of running, walking briskly with reason to Mammoth or Wildebeest and get as many laps on both before lines start to fill in. 11:00-4:00ish: The slides to do this time totally depend on what you want to ride or haven't ridden at other parks. Zinga (Proslide Tornado), Watubee (Family Raft), Zoombabwe (Enclosed Family Raft), Laughs (Proslide Half Boomerang?) and Bakuli (Behemoth Bowl) typically gather long lines. Personally, I'd say Zoombabwe is the only "do not miss" attraction out of that list. Other slides with less lines (and are actually pretty fun) are Ottorongo, Jungle Racer, and the remaining Hyena Falls slides. Now there is one infamous slide that I and my group also love to hit every time, but being my age it looks strange going into Kima Bay. Anyways, it's a small green double slide. However, at the bottom, the landing overflows with water, making a fantastic splashdown so big it would make Pilgrim's Plunge look like a joke (maybe I'm exaggerating, but it's much bigger than it should be). If you end up trying it, be sure to leave a report on here 4:00-Close: now is the time to hit Raven and Legend, as well as any other flat in the park. Once you've got your beating taken from those to, finish off your day with The Voyage and call it quits. Food There are many places that I like to eat at around here. For lunch, I've heard Wildebeestro is a great place. Sometimes I just want pizza, and get that from Safari Pizza. For dinner, you're probably in the Holiday World side now, so it depends on your preference of food. If you want a family, home style feast, Plymouth Rock is definitely your place. The Alamo is also good for Mexican food. And you probably already know about the free unlimited soft drinks, so there is a bonus. Plus, the prices for food are actually reasonable! Where to Ride As with any wood coaster, the front provides a smooth ride, while the back gives great airtime. Raven- I ride front about 70% of the time. The back gives great air going over the mid-course 60 ft drop though. Legend- I also typically ride in the front here. The Legend has gotten really rough in recent years and the slight extra airtime in the back is not really worth the beating for the Legend. Voyage-Back back back. There is some wicked airtime going over the first three hills. I honestly don't think the back as any worse than the front as far as how rough it is. Hope this all helps! -

^^ I would rather hope it's not GG. Seeing how even some of the best maintainence groups can't keep up with a behemoth like Voyage, I just don't want yet another coaster turn pretty rough at Holiday World. Don't get me wrong, I still think the Voyage is fantastic, but I just want to see a steel coaster or something in that realm of "smooth-ness" (i.e. RMC as stated above). -

Don't quote me on this if I'm wrong, but I think it had something to do with the Magnum collision that happened several years ago. And I hate using the word collision because it was very minor from what I understand. -

^ I will assist you in your nuclear destruction of Mantis. The only way I will enjoy it again is if it turns into a floorless or sit-down. Edit: I'm not sure if this was discussed earlier in 2013, but apparently this Twitter exchange did happen -

^ Yes, they were running two trains the majority of the day (Raven and Legend were at one briefly). And just to be clear, I was estimating the wait times for the the three because I was in the water park at from noon to 5, so I can't say they are entirely accurate. -

^ In the morning (9:30-11ish), about 15-30 min for all three. I'd say maybe cracking 45 midday. The coasters never draw the lines that Splashin Safari does. The water park is the GP's draw to Holiday World, which is why the first two Saturdays in May are the least busiest through the whole season. -

If by this you mean it's such a big lot they must be preparing for lots of visitors, on the busiest days of the season, the Legend lot and Raven lot have been almost 100% full. I have been on a day where both lots were close to full (Raven obviously fills up quicker than Legend). It was last year's Rock the World fest. Suprisingly, lines were not too terrible (only 1 hr waits on Wildebeest and 1.5 wait on Mammoth). Still, you should never visit the water park on Saturdays in July or August. -

I have yet to ride Toro, so I still reserve Millennium's drop as my favorite (it may not be my favorite coaster, but the drop is really spectacular). Gatekeeper's is still very fun. -

Was doing some casual browsing around Youtube and discovered this video. I only wish that I could ride this version of Dragster (minus the more frequent breakdowns). It wasn't till 2005 till I got to ride it. Anyways, this thing was flying over the crest even during media day! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]This video also makes me yearn for a Dragster repaint... -

^ It is rare that a park outside of the company advertises the other company(s)' roller coasters. Especially in HW's case as a family-owned park. -

^^ and ^ Thanks for the update, I am hoping things are in good shape by Monday. I am at least glad that this kind of thing didn't happen on an even busier Saturday in July or October.
