  1. ^ Yeah and from what I understand, it was most of the major rides, like Lightning Run, Thunder Run, etc.
  2. Haha, I love that there is an arguement for "worst B&M's." Even a bad B&M is still better than many other coasters out there.
  3. This was from a couple of days ago. Apparently the park instated a policy that wheelchair users were not allowed on to 16 out of the 30 rides due to employee inexperience and concern of the safety of the wheelchair users. A local news station reports that the policy has since been reversed. I was completely unaware that this was an issue at the park, but I'm glad they got it taken care of. 4. Comparing to a three woodies, the standard mine train, a kiddie, 1 B&M, the standard spinner, Mr Freeze, and a Boomerang. SFOG has a better lineup when you compare the two. I think St. Louis and Atlanta are two completely different markets. SFOG dominates it's region being the premier park of Georgia and most of Alabama. Wild Adventures and Splash Adventure are the only two "rivals" I can think of. But even then, those two arent nearly developed like SFOG. On the other hand, I feel like SFStL has more competition in its region, being Holiday World, Worlds of Fun, Silver Dollar City and, as a bit of a stretch, Kings Island or SFGA. All of those parks listed have a great coaster lineup (though WoF is probably the weakest) and pull in lots of people. Speaking from personal experience, I know that people in my town and region would rather go to Kings Island (which is 4 hours from Vincennes) than Six Flags (Which is 3). They aren't dumb and can recognize that the park that is farther away has the better lineup. As prozach said, the economy is picking up, and SFSTL has arguably one of the weaker coaster lineups of the chain. Even an RMC conversion of The Boss is not enough to really have a world-class coaster collection. They're going to have to think bigger and better.
  5. ^^ I already posted those pictures a couple of pages back. They are most likely for a new permanent haunt building.
  6. I hope you expand the boardwalk some day and add carnival games and small rides (ferris wheel, carousel, loop-o-plane, Waveswinger, etc.). I like that you took the time to use custom scenery on your paths and use fencing & borders to make a more realistic approach. Keep up the good work!
  7. Ok, this is slightly off-topic, but do the Ride & Refresh tickets last through the rest of the season, or is it a limited time deal? The idea of free unlimited soft drinks at CP is unheard of outside of Coastermania!
  8. ^ From hearing what previous posters just told me about Thursday, I'd either skip it and wait till it ends, or Fast Lane it. I've purchased fast lane before, but I only do it when I arrive at the park just in case it turns out to be less busier than expected. I've never attended Spirit Song so I can't say what to really expect on Thursday.
  9. If I recall correctly, the Skullduggery haunted house takes place currently in that small island. Not sure if the island is actually large enough for a Mack AquaTwist or not, but a continuation of the pirate theme to an AquaTwist certainly isn't a bad idea.
  10. They already have Tiki Twirl, so no, they don't need that type of attraction.
  11. ^ I rescheduled to next Monday (30th). No way in hell am I going through another festival. I went to Holiday World's last summer and it was very busy. The music was still really good though!
  12. ^ This may allow them to demolish the Crypt's old building and set up a permanent home for the current haunt (can't recall off the top of my head what it was last year).
  13. ^ it's definitely by the Beast. Behind the Crypt. Possibly a new flat? Captions are what they appeared on Twitter. Hmm... Hmm... That's interesting. That's very interesting! #WhatsUp
  14. Probably moderate to in-between that and heavy. Sundays are like Fridays crowd-wise. It's not like Saturday, but it's still busier than Mon-Thurs. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
  15. Quoted from a recent online article about The Voyage and Goliath. I love Matt's confidence in the park's trio. Here's the url to the article: http://www.14news.com/story/25813223/holiday-world-no-longer-home-of-worlds-tallest-wooden-coaster
  16. My only guess is that wind is a bigger factor than rain. I'm not one who specializes in geography, but since Cedar Point is located on a peninsula, wind is a big player on shutting down certain rides. Power Tower, Windseeker (ironically), Dragster, and maybe a few others are understandable for shutting down in high winds, but not nearly every attraction. I understand that the policy is very frustrating and unorganized. Maybe someone can email the park about the issue.
  17. Well I guess a little complaining goes a long way for me
  18. I'm seriously betting on Intamin, Mack, or Zierer. They have all showcased a thrilling coaster that is still accessible to families (Cheetah Hunt, Helix, and Verbolten) and right up HW's alley for marketing. I also think that the old Pilgrim's Plunge station might not actually be used for this particular attraction. What if the park decides to go for a double package from Mack and get a coaster and a traditional Shoot the Chutes? Just a penny for your thoughts...
  19. ^ One day only. Planning on showing up before they open and staying till close. It is only my friend and I that are attending, so yes, Fast Lane is very expensive.
  20. I'll chime in on my comments/criticism -Foliage is much-needed in this park, specifically inside the park itself. It looks like a mostly empty field with rides placed in the middle. -Your paths would benefit from fencing and surrounding flowers and bushes. It just gives a more realistic feel. -The Togo hyper is just plain awkward. If you were going for that, then mission: accomplished. I know you may like it, but I just don't know if it fits. Maybe some modifications to make it a Morgan instead? -It'd be nice if you had faux shop facades with real stalls inside like a Main Street. This also gives a more realistic approach. -After seeing your other stations, I think your Log Flume could use on upgrade on its station. Some variation of roofing styles would be great. I see potential in this thread.
  21. Visiting the park next Friday (27th) and am in debate of whether it will be crowded enough for Fast Lane. I usually visit Kings Island in early August, so this time frame is new territory for me. Any ideas of crowd levels this day/week? Thanks in advance!
  22. This photo was pulled from Facebook, but it's not mine and I unfortunately cannot give credit to it as I don't know who the original poster is (I found it on another coaster fan page and they obviously didn't state who took it either). The quality isn't the greatest due to my crappy internet.
  23. Yes, I did read your TR (which is nice btw) and was wondering if they started seriously assembling this week.
