  1. After taxes, they'll be lucky if they would keep $100 million.
  2. If the GCI coaster was built where it was supposed to be, would the enterance be where the Mount Rushmore replica is now?
  3. I wonder if it would look good if the Lex Luthor peices were green.
  4. Finally, the supports arrived. I could see the track coming very soon.
  5. It seems a bit short. I know you're making it short because you're modeling it from Formule X, though add an extra helix at least.
  6. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: April 1st
  7. I saw the commercial, and in my opinion it is MUCH better than those pathetic "Dear [insert name here]" commercials.
  8. Yay! I guess on my April 1st visit I will see some good construction.
  9. Is Superman one of the only coasters with the "Intamin-styled" track that has rails being a different color than the main track?
  10. Even though I'm a California, I'll represent Europe here. So, the UK probably won't get it as there already is Swarm and Alton is building a coaster in 2013. In Europe, I can see Phantasialand or Parque de Attracciones de Madrid getting it.
  11. It's possible, but it would be very expensive and wouldn't be worth it. Also, I found some good videos on youtube reflecting on Hurricane & Jet Star 2: A commercial for Hurricane in the opening year, 1992: A POV of Jet Star 2 when it was in Thrillville, 1999:
  12. Wow! This looks incredible! This update really made X-Flight seem 10x more amazing than I thought it would be. I can't wait what it will look like when all the theming and landscaping is done.
  13. Perhaps they can name it Jet Star like the coaster Hurricane replaced though it's not very boardwalkish. If they were to place a Wild Mouse coaster, naming it Wild Mouse is very boardwalkish and it was a name of a former coaster in SCBB. Also, I checked Zamperla's websites and these are coasters that are able to fit in Hurricane's location: Twister Coaster: 138' X 39'. These spinning mice coasters are perfect for SCBB, they also free up a good 30+ feet on the deck, so possibly a kiddie ride or the queue can go there. Moto Coaster: 159' X 69'. The moto coaster is a nice, small launched coaster, though the launch might give the deck a forward motion that might damage it. Volare: 169' X 81'. I really hope this won't come to SCBB, but it does give a unique experience to Northern California as it would be NorCal's only flying coaster.
  14. It seems the Dragon will be the S&S coaster everyone is talking about.
  15. Now, they're saying how scary Nemesis: Sub Terra is and how it's not for little kids and a very "intense ride". Doesn't this seem like Th13teen all over again?
  16. I looked at the Sky Screamer construction pictures a year ago and they starting constructing the tower in Early March and got it done by Memorial Day. I know Superman doesn't have a lot of peices, but it would take more time to construct it than Sky Screamer. Yes, I'm getting worried because it is ALMOST APRIL.
  17. I live near San Jose, CA, and it's HORRIBLE weather here. Tomorrow is going to probably have horrible weather too, not the best time to go to a theme park.
  18. These are some possible coasters they can build: -Maurer Sohne Mini-Sky Loop Extended -Intamin Half-Pipe Coaster (perfect for surf theme) -A compact Zierer ESC -Intamin ZacSpin (the smaller model would probably be built) -Zamperla MotoCoaster
  19. Yes. Have you ever been stuck on a lift hill?
  20. ^ Is a coaster enthusiast who rarely goes to amusement parks < Is a coaster enthusiast who frequently goes to amusement parks v Some couch potato drooling on the screen of his laptop
  21. ...Captain Robb SuperVekoma came and saved the day by...
  22. A law stating that all current Intamin coasters to be torn down and prohibiting Intamin AG on constructing future coasters. What's worse than censoring of the word lock*rs?
  23. I know it gives the park more revenue, but I really hate these Flash Pass-style systems. One of the reason I like Cedar Fair was because its parks had no cutting line systems as whenever I go to SFDK, Flash Pass always bothers me, constantly makes me late for shows, and really lowers my total experience.
  24. This is inexcusable even by GP standards. I would assume that there's a general consensus for what a 'wooden roller coaster' is: Chain lift hill, PTC cars, a fairly spread-out layout, and no inversions. Flight of Fear has none of these elements. I would love to have heard the thought process that led them to conclude that a coaster that launches you from a standstill into 4 inversions and an incredibly twisted layout (all in a building not much bigger than a McDonald's PlayPlace) is made of wood. The arguments for why it wasn't made of wood weren't much better. They were saying things like "wood can't bend, that's why nobody's made wood coasters in like 50 years." I guess they never rode the Grizzly, it's very "bendy".
