Yes because its one of only a few parks in Canada and it is in the Toronto metropolitan area which is the most populated area of Canada. Does Knott's Berry Farm deserve to have a higher yearly attendance then Six Flags Magic Mountain?

GAME: What's worse than...
805Andrew replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
Also having Magic Mountain close down all its roller coasters except for Magic Flyer, Canyon Blaster, and Road Runner Express. What worse then having Disneyland in California close down all its rides except for Pooh's Honey Hut (this ain't the Tokyo version) and Its A Small World? -
California* (my home) Nevada* Arizona Oregon Utah Hawaii Washington If I include airports, then I've also been to: Georgia New York Illinois States with a * mean I've ridden at least one coaster there. Canadian Province: British Columbia This may seem like not many states but the Western states are HUGE.

^ When I do trips to Tahoe I fill up in the Sacramento area or before and if I have to put gas around Tahoe I do so in Incline Village or South Lake Tahoe which are less expensive then Truckee or Tahoe City. Gas prices in my town of Atascadero, CA are currrently $3.939 for 87 Unleaded at the cheapest stations (Circle K and ARCO). When I filled up my Chevy Tahoe a few weeks ago it was $3.719 at a Shell in my town and I put $80 to fill my tank. Gas shot up $0.22 a gallon in a few weeks. My next car is going to be a lot more fuel efficient (I might even go hybrid).

Your Favorite Hotel Chain
805Andrew replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm staying at the Doubletree Santa Ana/Orange County Airport. I bid $50 a night on Priceline and they took my bid. It came to $60 a night with taxes and fees. If the hotel charges for parking (I think they do) then its more. I'm staying two nights (Fri/Sat) and splitting the room with a friend. We're going to the Epicenter concert in Irvine and we will be going to Wild Rivers the next day (last chance). If the TPR event at Knott's was one night earlier we would have gone to that as well, but we already had our mind set on Epicenter. We may still do the Knott's Haunt on that Friday night if I can convince my friend to do it (and fork over the admission ticket for it). -
Celebrities and Athletes you've met...
805Andrew replied to SixFlagsTexas's topic in Random, Random, Random
After various concerts I've met all the members of Papa Roach, Flobots (twice), Mike Ness of Social Distortion, Everlast (Whitey Ford), a couple of the guys from All American Rejects (including the singer), and members of other bands I can't remember at the moment. I also met Chuck Lidell who was at the Everlast concert. I've also seen Cuba Gooding Jr.(who seemed pretty tipsy) and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains at a Steel Panther concert in Hollywood, though I didn't meet them (I did wave the peace symbol (or was it the devil's horns?) at Jerry Cantrell and he waved it back at me. My uncle has met the President several times and sent my family a picture of him with the President holding his baby child (my cousin). I thought that was pretty cool. -
No. Should Knott's get a Dinosaurs Alive! attraction?

Your Favorite Hotel Chain
805Andrew replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Random, Random, Random
I've only been in one Outrigger, but it was one of my favorite hotels I've been in: beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, and I can't complain about being on Poipu Beach in Kauai. I also really like Marriott and Hilton in general. Hilton's Homewood Suites is great for large and comfy rooms, and breakfast/dinner (w/ beer) included. Courtyard by Marriott is probably my favorite 3 Star chain. I'm staying in a Doubletree for the first time in two weeks when I go down to Orange County, hopefully I like it. -

One of TPR's newest members posted this in the Alabama Adventure thread: Knott's Over Alabama? Sounds like a GP comment to me.

I wish SFMM would always run one side of Colossus backwards and race it with the forwards train. Can you imagine how much hype that would bring to that 30+ year old ride? And it wouldn't cost them much. But I guess they need something to draw people into Fright Fest and making Colossus backwards exclusive to Fright Fest is one of them.

Of the B&M's I've been on, I rank them in the following order: 1. Tatsu, SFMM 2. Dragon Khan, Port Aventura 3. Riddler's Revenge, SFMM 4. Batman the Ride, SFMM 5. Scream, SFMM 6. Medusa, SFDK 7. Silver Bullet, Knott's 8. Flight Deck, CGA 9. Vortex, CGA All of these are very good except for Vortex. -

^^^There's also In-N-Out people for those that live in CA. I know a LOT of people that love In-N-Out but avoid McD's and BK. I also know a few people that don't like In-N-Out but like McD's and/or BK (like my Grandma). I also know Taco Bell people and Jack In The Box people (to a lesser extent) as these two chains are open the latest in my area. As for me, I'll go with Robb's scale (on page 1): My "1" chains: In-N-Out El Pollo Loco Sonic (for the drinks and shakes) The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (I'm counting quick serve coffee chains too) Jamba Juice (I'll count this smoothie chain too, plus its from my area ) Wing Stop Panera Bread Chipotle Panda Express Pans & Company (in Spain) My "2" chains: Fatburger The Habit Burger Grill Original Tommy's Hamburgers Starbucks Peet's Coffee & Tea Krispy Kreme Dunkin Donuts (When are they going to bring them out West?) Dutch Bros. Coffee Tully's Coffee Del Taco The Pita Pit Baja Fresh Popeye's Chicken Lee's Sandwiches Quickly McDonalds (outside the USA and breakfast in the USA) Carl's Jr. Jack in the Box Wendy's Sonic (for the food) Quizno's My "3" chains: McDonalds (in the USA) Fuddruckers Foster's Freeze Tastee Freez Dairy Queen L&L Hawaiian BBQ Schlotzsky's Deli Qdoba Red Brick Pizza Papa John's Pizza Arby's Chick Fil A KFC Taco Bell Wienerschnitzel Subway (the toasted, made to order subs) Bocatta (in Spain) Telepizza (in Spain) My "4" chains: Burger King (some locations are alright but not the one in my town) A & W (the root beer is great but the food is "meh") Domino's Pizza (the wings are alright) Taco Time My "5" chains: Subway (the untoasted, catering subs) Long John Silvers (The worst fast food I've ever had) Chains I want to try but haven't yet: Five Guys Burgers and Fries White Castle Church's Chicken Boston Market -Andrew "I'm not too picky but I'll never eat in Long John Silvers again" Rector

B&M vs Intamin
805Andrew replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like them both about equally but I voted for B&M because I have been on more B&Ms and all the B&Ms I have been on are awesome (except Vortex at CGA). I like all of the Intamins I've been on except Flashback (the one that was SBNO at SFMM for years) and Woodstock's Express at CGA (the lap bar popped out at the top of the lift hill). Once I go ride all the Intimans back East I might like them better than B&M. I also give the edge to B&M because all their rides are high capacity and they have all those cool inverted coasters (I wish Intamin would make more inverted coasters). -
Riddler's Revenge is horrible with one train operation. A one hour wait just inside the station. Outside the station its even longer. The very first time I rode X (as it was called back then) in 2004 I waited almost three hours to ride it but it was two-train operation and the line was all the way across the bridge with all the switchbacks being used. In the early 90s Splash Mountain at Disneyland almost always had over a two hour wait and broke down quite a bit.

Knoebels Discussion Thread
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Or if this were a secondary Six Flags park they could be closed permanently cough New Orleans cough. Hopefully their rides didn't get too badly damaged, they make a full recovery, and they don't lose too much money. I'm rooting for this unique, independent park that I hope to visit one day. -
No Believe it or not my least favorite coaster is an Intamin (a kiddie one though): Woodstock's Express at CGA. Very uncomfortable seat belt/restraints/lack of legroom. Can you name another horrible Intamin coaster besides the one I mentioned?
