"Thrift Shop" by Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz was stuck in my head earlier in the day. If you haven't heard it yet, You Tube it, it is very entertaining and catchy.

If you could tear down one coaster

Grizzly at CGA. Replace it with something useful. -
I voted. The Jordan's Ballot Helper made it really easy, I would have been lost without it. I would have rated Stampida a lot higher (probably #2 or #3) if I hadn't ridden it this past Summer, but it has gotten extremely rough so I put it near the bottom. I still rate it above Grizzly (which I last rode in 2011) which isn't rough at all but does nothing and is so boring.

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

Wow! The new test track looks great! I've never ridden the old one but comparing the videos of the old and new versions, the new one sure looks like an improvement, especially on the indoor parts. Thanks for the video and all the pics. -
TPR 2013 Tours Announced!

I wish I had the funds for the Tex-Midwest trip right now. If I have enough funds by February, I will put my payment in if they are still spots available or get on the wait list. -
Sant NarcÃs Fair (Girona - Spain)
805Andrew replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, what a cool setting for a fair with such a great variety of thrill rides! I went to Spain this summer and went to Girona for a day and walked by this park late in the day without knowing it hosts this great fair this time of the year. We didn't explore this park as we wanted to grab something quick to eat (we got Doner Kabap to go and ate it on the train) and make our train back into Barcelona. We did spend the day walking around the historic and river parts Girona and really liked it - Girona definitely is a "culture" place. -

Thanks! I would love to go there if I am ever in Switzerland. -
The first thing I thought when I heard Disney bought Lucas Film was the next Disney theme park built (after Shanghai Disneyland) needs to be a Star Wars park. A land isn't enough to justify all the planets of Star Wars. I would love to see a Star Wars theme park in CA, but FL has the room so a Star Wars Kingdom could be the future fifth gate. If they could find a way to rearrange Anaheim to build a Star Wars Kingdom as the third gate I would love that, but that isn't very probable (they could buy a whole city block and demolish it and connect it to Disneyland with the Monorail ). If Disney didn't just reboot California Adventure, they could have revamped it to Disney's Star Wars Adventure instead.

2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Schlitterbahn will be our early arrival park for the Texas Midwest Trip. It will be an addon for anyone able to come in a day early! Thanks! I will definitely consider this trip if I can get the funds for it by the deadline (assuming its not full). Schlitterbahn as an add-on is smart as not everyone is into water parks but I definitely am -
Its sad and amazing at the same time to see all these pictures of the Jersey Shore piers/parks. What's really sad though is all the people who lost their homes or had significant damage done to them and the lives that were lost. I'm impressed though with how well organized people are in the NE and the efforts made by NJ governor Chris Christy, president Obama, and NYC mayor Bloomberg. Everyone is a lot more organized then after Hurricane Katrina, though that was a lot worse. Some good will come out of this. People will be brought together, things will get rebuild, new jobs will be created rebuilding and cleaning up, and better rides will replace the ones lost at the Jersey Shore parks. Just trying to see some light in this.

2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow I want to go on three of these trips :Texas/Midwest, Japan, and UK. I've never been to Texas before and can't go to Texas without going to Schlitterbahn. Will Schlitterbahn (the one in New Braunfels) be considered on the Texas trip? I was also hoping Holiday World and/or Indiana Beach would be on the Midwest part of the trip but I'm guessing they must be really out of the way if they're not on the itinerary. -

^^ Where is that? ^ Is that the actual speed of that or is the video accelerated? Either way that ride looks awesome with an awesome view. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't see what all the complaining is about. I feel theme parks and water parks go very closely together and I like water parks /water slides almost as much as theme parks / roller coasters. If were in Indiana or in that region of the country I would definitely put a day aside for visiting Holiday World. Plus it gets really hot and humid in that part of the country (or at least I hear) and I'm sure park guests are glad to have an abundance of water attractions to cool off in. I wish more theme parks in California had an included water park, and a decent included water park, not a joke water park section like CGA with one good water slide. My only complaint about water parks is their operating seasons are so short (usually late May to early Sept). There are hot/sunny weekends in late April/early May and late Sept/early Oct in certain parts of the country (cough..SoCal/CenCal..cough) were if water parks were open people would go. -
The most rare coaster credits
805Andrew replied to Stitch's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would say the coasters at the Funfair parks in Pyongyang, North Korea just because the access to the country is so restricted (even though they allow certain tours now) and is even more restricted if your American. Even you managed to make it to DPRK, I would imagine it would be hard to get all the credits in one trip, as all the planets would probably have to aligned to have the all the coasters operating at once (not even including the SBNO ones) or to be granted access to all the parks. http://coolthingsinrandomplaces.com/?p=265 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d74_1226206457 -
Theme Park Review's Italy 2012 Tour!
805Andrew replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just caught up with reading the Italy TR. Great pics and videos especially the Stunt Show at Mirabilandia. Looks like a classic "never in America" experience. Being in that stunt show must have been the highlight of your Italy trip - being in one of those cars would be scarier than any rollercoaster, except China coasters of course. It sucks though that guy had to ruin the TR for everyone else. What other Italy parks did you go to after Mirabilandia / how many Italy days were left? Even if you don't post the rest of the Italy TR I hope a few bad seeds doesn't discourage you from posting TRs in the future. Everyone else loves them and it's what turned me on to this site and what's selling me on a future TPR trip (actually I'm already sold, I just need to save up $$). Anyways thanks for the TRs as always. -

I was in Spain this summer, Catalunya to be exact, and everywhere I went I saw people dining and shopping, and I thought to myself "what recession?". Build it and people will come, but it has to be built first. Major banks are having trouble is Spain, but La Caixa is doing better than most banks in Spain if I recall. La Caixa is also the majority shareholder of Port Aventura I believe.
