  1. Great Taiwan pics so far, looks like lots of fun. Glad you got to go to the original country of Din Tai Fung. I've tried the Din Tai Fung in Arcadia, CA and loved it. You need to try 85ยบ C if you haven't yet. I've tried the one in West Covina, CA but its supposed to be all over Taiwan, like the Starbucks of Taiwan.
  2. ^ He's going to have a massive wedgie and/or a lot of unnecessary water pressure to the crotch area. I'm not surprised that some Spaniards aren't following the "cross your arms and feet" rules.
  3. Probably Flashback at you know which park.
  4. This looks awesome. Finally a drop ride where you are facing the ground the entire time. Its going to be intense!
  5. I like the trap door on a speed slide. It adds a thrill element and at the same time relieves the moments of stress I endure the moments before going down by having someone else pull the lever for me. These slides look like cookie cutter of slides added in many decent water parks, maybe a bit higher, but nothing innovative. Those straight down slides look massive and intimidating, but how fun are they to ride actually? That red slide with the humps next to it and the racers slides they are adding will be far more fun to ride. Nonetheless, I'm glad PA's Costa Caribe Park Aquatic (or whatever they call it now) is finally adding something after all these years, but it isn't going to be enough to get me to return to their water park the next time I'm in Spain (I visit every 3-5 years as I have relatives in the Barcelona area). I just wish they would have added a master blaster / water coaster or something more innovative, but at least they are adding something.
  6. Just saw the first episode of the new season on my DVR yesterday and I really liked the format and scoring system they are using this season much better than the one they used the first season. Last season's coaster rating system seemed pretty random. I liked the fact that different coasters from around the globe are being featured, and I've been on two of the coasters featured in the first episode: Tatsu and Shambhala. Overall, I think the new season of Insane Coaster Wars is much better and I look forward to seeing more of season 2.
  7. I actually like weekdays better: less crowds and easier for me to get off work since I work in the tourist industry that requires me to work most weekends. Thanks for asking this question Robb. I'd love to go a So Cal or Nor Cal event that is on a Tuesday and/or Wednesday.
  8. I will most likely attend West Coast Bash this year. I'm gonna try to convince a couple of friends to come down with me.
  9. This is a long time from now, but it gives me time to plan the trip, maybe convince a friend or two to go with me. Also the weather will be great in September, and the crowds are light as kids are back in school and the Halloween events haven't started yet. I was hoping for late March or April, but this is even better. Good move Robb and Elissa!
  10. ^ Good list! I've never heard of Monchu Pichu though. Is it similar to Machu Picchu?
  11. I just came back from a snowboarding trip at Mammoth Mountain last night. I was sore today from boarding two straight days in a row from 9AM to 4PM but it was so worth it! I have been to about half a dozen places in Lake Tahoe over the last several years but this was my first time going to Mammoth (in the winter) and I really enjoyed it. I really liked the vibe of the place. I may be alternating Lake Tahoe with Mammoth on my yearly/bi-yearly snow trips.
  12. Wow no one thinks the Falcons will make it to the Superbowl? If its not the 49ers in the Superbowl, I think the Falcons will be in the Superbowl ( I hope it's the Niners though). SF will have play Atlanta probably in the NFC championship and that's the game I'm most nervous about.
  13. Tony swears his CNN show will be virtually the same as No Reservations, except he'll have more resources to get into places that Travel Channel could not get him into. We'll see on that, but he is bringing his beloved crew with him. And it doesn't seem like he'd be willing to give up the creative control Travel Channel gave him just to get on a more high profile network. I'm looking forward to his CNN show and I'm hoping its similar to No Reservations or even The Layover. I thought it was cool Tony rode the Coney Island Cyclone in the final Brooklyn episode of No Reservations. It will interesting to see how his show is received on a news channel. The exposure will be great with him not only being on CNN in the USA but CNN International as well. I just hope CNN viewers don't get offended too quickly to the point where CNN wants him to tone down his show.
  14. Xbox Live ID: ATownAndrew I just got Halo 4 recently so I'll play that online most likely. I will also play Halo Reach online, so currently I'm looking for people who play those games. I am also a huge GTA fan and can't wait for GTA V (I have IV).
  15. I'm surprised to see a lot of people mentioning Antarctica . It just doesn't interest me, and I'll go almost anywhere. I've seen Greenland from a plane with all its ice and it was cool seeing it from above but I have no desire to ever visit it. I would go to Tierra del Fuego in Argentina but that's the closest I would want to get to Antarctica, and I think they have penguins there. Seeing ice glaciers in Alaska would more be my thing. I guess freezing my ass off in the Antarctic is not my thing
  16. ^ I hope your right I want SF in the Superbowl really badly this year.
  17. Most of the current shows I'm watching: Dexter Homeland Fox Animation Domination lineup Parks & Recreation The Office 30 Rock Up All Night Big Bang Theory How I Met Your Mother New Girl Modern Family Parenthood The Layover w/ Anthony Bourdain Survivor When it's in season: South Park Archer Wilfred Shameless Nurse Jackie House of Lies Shows that I watched that recently ended: Weeds Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (I agree with Ginzo about this being the best travel show ever) I watched Arrested Development back in the day when it had its first run on Fox. For years they been saying that there is going to be a new season, reunion, or movie. I'll believe it when it happens.
  18. Okay, I read all these bucket lists and now it's time to write my own. Japan - Not just for the theme parks, but also for the sights, food, culture, neon lights, arcades, trying out the different forms of public transport, the quirky vending machines, etc... Tahiti - I want to stay in one of those huts that is on the water. This would be a great honeymoon place if I ever get married. Italy - I want to taste every corner of the country, or at least Rome, Milan, Venice, Pompei, The Vatican (okay it is its own country, but it's landlocked in Italy), the Alps in the north, and possibly Sicily and Sardinia. And since BeemerBoy brought up the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Lake Como, I'll add that to the list. I don't care if I visit any theme parks in Italy. Japan is a different story though, I definitely want to visit several parks there. Cuba - For exactly the same reason disneyfan1313 said. I gotta visit it before they put in Knott's Berry Farm Cuba Dubai - This city intrigues me with all they've built being where they are. I have to see it for myself. Hong Kong - I love the way this city looks, with the futuristic looking tall buildings and the mountains and water surrounding it. I want to a do a food tour of this city as well trying the different street foods, dim sum, and other Asian cuisines offered here. I definitely want to go to Ocean Park too (I would go for the views alone). Switzerland - I would like to visit it in both in Summer and Winter to see the contrast. I want ski and snowboard (both - separate days of course) in the Alps and ride some aerial trams, funiculars, and scenic railways. Australia - I've always wanted to go down under and see koalas and kangaroos in the wild, snorkel or scuba the Great Barrier Reef, go on an Outback safari, and see Sydney. Visit every National Park in the US and well as many National Monuments as I can (or I feel are worth visiting). While I'm at it visit every state as well and not just landing in an airport for a connecting flight. Go see a World Cup match in a country that is hosting it. See more than one match if possible. Go to a city that is hosting the Winter Olympics and see some events (preferably skiing, snowboarding, and hockey). I've already seen Summer Olympics events in 1992 (though I wouldn't mind going to a Summer Olympics again). Go on a cruise in the Carribbean and a cruise into Alaska (two different cruise experiences). A cruise to Mexico doesn't interest me (too close to home). I could add more things but I will end it here. I would have put Hawaii on my list before 2003 (my first visit there). I've been there twice and have been to the four main islands, but would definitely go back as there are things I missed such as Pearl Harbor, the Dole Plantation, snorkeling in Molokini, and certain spots of the Big Island, plus certain things worth seeing/ doing again such as snorkeling in Hanauma Bay, taking the Road to Hana, seeing Hawaii Volcanoes NP, and seeing waterfalls in Kauai. Plus I haven't been to Molokai nor Lanai. The Polynesian Cultural Center was a one time deal for me though. For those who think Hawaii is simply about lying on the beach, think again. Besides Waikiki, I can't think of a day in Hawaii where I spent more than 30 minutes lying on the beach doing nothing.
  19. Awesome video. Sometimes your videos are funnier in the off-season. This made me want to go to the snow so bad, I booked a trip to Mammoth Mountain January 8-10. I may do some sledding or tubing the day I arrive.

  21. Not all of California sucks for snow. There are good sledding hills with airtime in Yosemite and Fish Camp near Yosemite. Lake Tahoe has good snow too, though last season sucked. This season should have good snow though. It's been raining a lot where I live which equals lots of snow in the mountains. I may be going to Mammoth in a couple of weeks so seeing these videos is getting me excited although I'll be doing boarding and possibly skiing. By the way that tubing chain video looks awesome, I need to try that. California snow may not be Utah or Colorado snow, but I'll take it over no snow. Looking forward to a good year of snow in the mountains.
  22. ^ SF really surprises me that they'll beat really good teams like the Packers and the Patriots, but will lose to lesser teams like the Seahawks and the Rams. It's like they try harder when there up against better teams. I hope this is true in the playoffs, especially with a likely matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
  23. World Market Orange Passionfruit Mango soda from Italy. I was holiday shopping today. Yesterday I had Schweppes Raspberry Ginger Ale - a limited holiday release I think.
  24. Samuel Adams White Christmas from their sampler pack.
