  1. I did a Dew by the beach Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I brought this back from my trip to Boston and enjoyed it last night. This should serve this at Knott’s! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Sometimes it takes a full year before you notice the attendance boost, Steel Vengeance just opened last year and not everyone has had a chance to ride it yet. I didn't see any TEA figures on CGA, just the top 20 US parks, so I don't know where you're getting your figures for CGA. And I don't know where you're are getting your info that CGA canceled its expansion. They are expanding their included Boomerang Bay water park next year and they just bought the land they sit on from the city of Santa Clara which they have been leasing since 1989. www.mercurynews.com/2019/03/28/great-america-amusement-park-buys-city-land-for-150-million/
  4. Screw the kiddie coaster, I'd go to that zoo for the sky ride but I'd have to think of a reason to visit Indianapolis first and I can't think of one. Maybe if I was visiting Indiana Beach and one of these two attractions was open later I could squeeze both in one day.
  5. I had a Cedar Fair Platinum Pass last year and went to CGA several times and it was the most people I'd ever seen there on all my visits there so I don't know what you're talking about. What are your stats that say that CGA or these other parks didn't see an increase in attendance?
  6. Great report on the Paris region parks including the lesser known ones. Parc Asterix has been on my radar and once that new Intamin opens I'll have to visit it on my next Paris trip. Niglioland looks like an unexpected surprise (in a good way) so I may have to consider that one too. Your hotel room in Hotel Cheyenne looks nicer than the room I stayed at the Sequoia Lodge which is supposed to be a moderate resort. Honestly, I was not impressed with Disney's Sequoia Lodge and I thought the rooms and the interiors of the buildings (besides the main lodge) were very basic. The grounds were nice (like a college campus) and the indoor pool was very nice but that was it. Having been to Disneyland Paris for two days in 2017, I would probably just stay in the city next time I'm in Paris and do a day trip to DLP and hop both parks in one day. I need to eventually get on their Indiana Jones since it was closed when I went there.
  7. ^ I hadn't ridden The Voyage before last year so I can't speak about the past but it was running really good during Holiwood Nights last year. It's still not butter smooth but it was the smoothest of the three woodies I rode there and I loved the layout through the woods. Raven was a bit rough but it had a great layout and was still fun so I forgave it, although I liked Legend better it. Maybe if the Voyage gets rough again they could put RMC topper track on it but I personally don't wish for the layout to be altered too much. Now if Holiday World wants put a custom RMC through the woods I would totally be on board with that. I think Holiday World would be great for a terrian RMC Raptor that goes through the woods as they could use another steel coaster. Anyways here are my top 10 woodie rankings: 1. Phoenix - Knoebels (#12 overall) 2. El Toro - SF Great Adventure (#13 overall) 3. The Voyage - Holiday World (#17 overall) 4. GhostRider - Knott's Berry Farm (#33 overall) 5. Mystic Timbers - Kings Island (#37 overall) 6. The Legend - Holiday World (#39 overall) 7. Thunderbolt - Kennywood (#44 overall) 8. Ravine Flyer II - Waldameer (#46 overall) 9. Gold Striker - CA Great America (#48 overall) 10. Lightning Racer - Hersheypark (#55 overall) . . . 20. Raven - Holiday World (out of 40 woodies ranked) I'm sure my rankings will change a bit after visiting Europe this July.
  8. ^ I rode The Voyage at last year's Holiwood Nights and it was amazing! They ran it without the trim brakes and there was crazy airtime on it in the dark. Riding The Voyage at night is something else and it's now my #3 woodie, just behind Phoenix (#1) and El Toro (#2). I didn't find The Voyage rough (The Raven maybe a bit) but it definitely runs aggressive and those last turns at the end may be a bit too much for some.
  9. Here’s my list of my top 20 and bottom 15 coasters. I agree with most of the results I’ve seen and Steel Vengeance is my new #1 after riding it last year. I would like to see lists of top hyper/gigas (combined to one list is fine with me), inverts, hybrids, multi loopers (5 or more inversions), and launched coasters. 10. Do SLC's, we need to settle which SLC is the best. Just read through the bottom of the list and you'll see all the SLCs and will be able to figure out which is the least worst.
  11. Niiiice! I can't wait to try this out next year. Looks fantastic.
  12. I didn't dislike Green Lantern like many people did but I won't miss it either nor its operations. I had some fun rides on at a WCB a few years ago and I got an unbalanced ride in the morning that flipped several times and got stuck in the upside down posiion for several minutes when it came back into the station. I'm going to ride the original ZacSpin in Sweden this summer so I'm curious to see how it was intended to ride. That won't mean anything if Green Lantern is closed down for good. But SFMM can now open another coaster in 2021 and claim it to be its 20th coaster for its 50th anniversary which will be a great marketing strategy. Hopefully they get something really exciting for their 50th anniversary.
  13. I'm glad Tokyo Dome City is getting another coaster.
  14. Interesting. Do you have to buy an admission ticket to get in, or is it like Oktoberfest and you only pay for the attractions that you want to do?
  15. Scary how close she was to the plane and was only three cars away from being crashed into. Lol, nice RCT reference
  16. ^If you miss all those massive helixes you can always go to Kings Island and ride The Beast.
  17. Let us know how that is. I hadn't heard of that box before but I just signed up for six months of Tokyo Treat's premium boxes which include a drink as well as snacks and candy. I compared the past Tokyo Treat and Japan Crate boxes that were sent out and Tokyo Treat looked like it had the better drink choices overall and Japan Crate looked like it was sending out a lot of snacks that I could get at Asian grocery stores in the LA or Bay Area so I went with Tokyo Treat. I didn't miss American food at all when I was in Japan and stuck mostly to Japanese and other Asian cuisines or whatever foods Japanese in general were good at (they do French pastries really well). If I went to an American fast food chain like McDs or KFC (which I did a few times) I only got the menu items I couldn't get at their US locations. With yakitori and the various forms of Japanese BBQ I have no desire to try American style BBQ in Japan but it looks like you learned your lesson. Great report by the way.
  18. Best single post pic collage TR ever! Hope you had fun in Fly Over America. A year ago I connected through Minneapolis Airport on my way to Miami and it was 4ºF outside of MSP and 77ºF when I landed in FLL. Hopefully I'll eventually get to check out the Mall of America, it looks like there's a lot of fun things to do there.
  19. The length of that drop looks sick! I visited Nagashima in 2015 and White Cyclone was a lengthy ride but just okay in my opinion which makes it a perfect conversion for an RMC. I plan to go back to Japan next year and with all the additions Nagashima has had since them I'm definitely going to include them in my itinerary.
  20. This is the only time I can think of where people aren't happy with a B&M being replaced by an Intamin. I'm curious to see how this turns out though. Hopefully its really well themed and the ride is a decent length.
  21. I prefer Viper over Scream too. I love that first drop in the front row!
  22. M Magic Mountain didn't need to be open 365, but it needed to be open more than Saturday and Sunday (Thurs-Sun at least) in the off season so I'm glad they are aiming for 365, even if it ends up being 355 this year. It's been raining much more than normal this year so far and a lot of it has been heavy rain and that's no fun for park goers as the only thing they would enjoy is Justice League. Disneyland and USH are a lot better parks to go to on rainy days since they have a lot of indoor rides but Magic Mountain is an outdoor rides park.
  23. You haven't seen Kong break down at SFDK. I have - on more than one visit too. But I agree in general SLCs are pretty reliable and that's one of the only coaster types where I would consider that a negative thing. SLCs are like the school bully of rollercoasters - kinda like that verbal bully you see on TV or online every day who's very reliable on insulting people every day.
  24. That Schwartzkopf looks really good! I love how it almost touches the roof of that huge mall and those diving drops look sick. I had never heard of this coaster before and wasn't aware Edmonton had an amusement park as well but I am well aware of their indoor water park. Did you experience their water park too that looks really fun?
  25. I'm really sad to hear about this closing down and that I never got to ride it but it seemed like it was inevitable with all the downtime it was having. It would be cool to built another launch coaster into the volcano like a Mack or even a B&M invert but I'm guessing the volcano was a big part of the maintenance issue so it will probably go. The saddest thing is there are so many horrible SLCs out there that have outlived this unique invert.
