  1. ^ They let me in the park with my free bring a friend (it was around 9:45), and I just have a regular season pass, so that answers my question. We've been in line with the other Passholders for over 30 minutes now and they just started loading trains with people ten minutes ago. At least we'll be able to ride before the masses arrive.
  2. Did you have any friends with you since it was free bring a friend day? If so, were they allowed to participate in the passholder ERT with you or enter the park at 9:30 with you?
  3. Looks like the demand for Twisted Colossus exceeded everyone's expectations so far. I hope the park is not insanely packed on Wednesday, though I do expect decent crowds. I also hope that the lines for Tatsu and X2 are a little shorter now with Twisted Colossus being the new hotness. Anyways I have a couple of questions for season pass holders or anyone else who knows. I'm using my April/May weekday bring a friend free offer on Wednesday and I notice there is passholder ERT right before the park opens to the GP. Is your friend that you bring in free with the season pass allowed to partake in the passholder ERT also, or just the passholder? If the friend cannot partake in the passholder ERT, can he/she enter the park with you when they let the passholders enter for ERT, or does he/she have to wait at the park gate for GP opening? Anyone that knows the answer to this, I appreciate the help. Thanks.
  4. Wow! This looks like it's turning out to be the greatest hit the park has had since X2 opened up as X. I'm hoping to make it there this Tuesday or Wednesday, hopefully it won't be as crowded then. Can't wait to ride! That's a pretty cool segment they did. I like the song they chose for the TC footage.
  5. This would be fun to try at either Magic Kingdom or Disneyland. Trying to last the full 24 hours in the park would be a challenge, but I think I could do it. Riding several laps on the railroad to take a nap would help.
  6. They would have to run four trains to have nonstop racing, and probably a dual loading station to a get a train out on time to sync. I guess the best we can hope for is racing on half the ride.
  7. Wicked Cyclone looks awesome. It and Bizarro give me two good reasons to visit SFNE in the future. I guess I'll have to plan a Boston trip in the future or an New England trip and have this be a part of it.
  8. Sorry you had a bad media day experience, that sucks. Shows that SFMM is still a dysfunctional park even though they have some awesome rides and Twisted Colossus looks an amazing addition to the lineup. You took some amazing pictures though. I had a friend that went during the commercial shoot on Tuesday and she got on 17 rides. I'm hoping to go next week on a Tuesday or Wednesday when hopefully it will be a little less crowded and finally get on TC.
  9. Your plan looks pretty solid overall, but I would add Quassy at the end of the Lake Compounce day like others have mentioned, squeeze in Kentucky Kingdom into the driving to Kentucky day, and possibly shifting SFNE into the free day if everything else goes as planned so you can have an extra day on the way back to Boston to go to Kennywood if you are driving through/near Pittsburgh.
  10. ^ So its a new part of the Studio Tour and not a separate ride?
  11. The Simpsons expansion looks cool. I'll have to get back to USH sometime this year, maybe for HHN. I'm wondering, is the Fast & Furious Ride a separate ride, or a part of the Studio Tram tour like King Kong 360 3D?
  12. I'm surprised that the Rougabrew is in glass bottles in the park, I'd thought it would be on draft. Also Quaker Steak & Lube is a horrible name for a restaurant - I guess its a chain in the Northeast, but why they have "Lube" in the name is beyond me.
  13. Nice pictures. That's cool that Cedar Point has its own exclusive beer. More parks should work with local breweries for exclusive beers. I'd order a beer in a park if I knew I couldn't get it anywhere else.
  14. Are there any other examples of this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraser_Island#Wreck_of_the_Maheno "Oh there´s a hospital ship stranded on this island. Let´s just leave it to rot. Might turn into a tourist attraction." (And it did) I've seen abandoned ships in other places too, like in Aptos, CA and Astoria, OR for example, so I don't know if it would be mostly an Australian thing. Even if they wanted to get rid of the abandoned ship they wouldn't be able to because it's now a coral reef.
  15. How about a 4D coaster where you ride in the barrels the big apes are rolling at each other? When can they start construction on this?
  16. How did I miss this news this morning??!! This is probably the best theme park announcement I've ever heard. I've been wanting a Nintendo theme park for years and finally Nintendo is finally coming to theme parks. Nintendo could warrant a new, separate gate in every Universal property worldwide. There's so many rides they could go off of Mario alone: Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Mushroom Kingdom, etc. Plus they could have whole lands based off of Donkey Kong Country, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon. The possibilities are endless! I hope Japan and Orlando get separate Nintendo gate parks (well, at least Japan) and if Hollywood doesn't have room for a second gate (which they probably won't) they should bulldoze the whole upper lot that isn't been sanctioned off for Harry Potter for a new Nintendo Land. When can they start construction?
  17. Wow! I just saw this video. I'm surprised the park let her that close to the ride or there wasn't a guard or staff member to tell her to leave. The rest of the story with her family is pretty depressing. I don't know if it's worse than her mom's obsession with those Raggedy Ann dolls though. I was just about ask if this ride was operating during the East Coast Tour last year because I don't remember seeing it running when I was there, but I think you answered my question.
  18. I'm glad to see that the PortAventura resort is expanding with a second gate, even though it will be a half day park. Hopefully they will add more things like Ferrari World in the coming years to make it a more complete park. I hope PortAventura will add a park hopper option so I could hop both PA and Ferrari Land in a day on my next visit to Spain.
  19. Really? Because of the weather there? While your probably right on more parking structures and newer Disney hotels being built first, I think a Disney water park in Anaheim could be open 10-12 months out of the year. All they would have to do is heat the water more in the milder months. If Disney never builds a water park here I think it is because they are doing away water parks besides the two they currently have and not because of the weather here.
  20. Banana? I hope not. I'm not crazy about banana flavored things expect for banana shakes. If they are going with a sweet "yellow" flavor I'd much rather have lemon.
  21. If they bought up all those hotels in that triangle, I think it would be big enough for a third gate, or at least for a water park gate with a new Disney hotel attached to it.
  22. I love that there's no dumb Larson Loops on this list.
