So while at the park today I noticed something.. THE PARKING LOT WAS FULL, like full. had maybe 50 empty spots left. It was a Wednesday so what about hot sunny weekends? I wonder if this is going to become an issue? -

Just got back from the park today and they had signs saying no show today for Dimensions even though their poster says daily until labor day... weird! -

Yeah Canada's Wonderland may be the most attended park in the chain, HOWEVER; 1. We don't make extra income on hotels like the other parks, 2. Our minimum wage and cost of doing business is really high compared to other parks especially when ordering cross border parts and attractions, 3. We lose a ton of money in currency exchange rates, especially with the economy crashing right now! Stop expecting a 2016 coaster its been DELAYED for financial reasons and for those that still think our park is producing tons of extra cash for Cedar Fair and will get a coaster go read the 2014 annual financial report on Cedar Fairs website! -

They were probably going to get one in 2016 but due to tough times here in Canada they are losing a lot of income, Ill post a link to the exact numbers canadas wonderland lost in revenue last year due to the poor economy. -

Why you won't see a coaster at Canada's Wonderland until probably 2018 at this rate. The Canadian economy is crashing hard and has been for a while now but it is at an all time low. A 30 million dollar B&M coaster would cost the park 40 million dollars with the US conversion rate. Not including the other fees. That is way way way out of the budget for a park for one coaster in a seasonal park for Cedar Fair. They are also losing a ton of money on the conversion rate with sales as they report sales, just read their quarterly results and yearly results last year alone 63 million dollars was lost in the exchange rate at Canada's Wonderland. (yearly results) -

Haha, we're certainly lucky. I think the bear is ok, us and OPP couldn't find it. There was blood and fur under the car though. The flat bed truck is for the fireworks it appears every year and someone thinks its a coaster however the markings in and around Minebuster are new, there were no yellow markers and no orange stakes before just orange flags in a dirt pile in a complete straight line. -

This did not have the log flume song in it as performed by Robb Alvey, so I don't think this can be considered "funny" -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
CedarFair1 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
he's being an idiot if Kins Island is also getting something in 2016 that means like every park in the chain is getting something big in 2016. The only two parks with confirmed land clearing are Canada's Wonderland and Cedar Point. -

With school exams officially starting last Friday and most of them done, I forsee the park starting to pick up. Still hard to call, I'd decide when you get there if you should purchase one. -

Also on that list is the massive construction site at Canada's WOnderland with the removal of Skyrider. We have the most activity and construction so far. -

Again, they have an announcement date, teasers, trademarked name, construction fence. Dive Coasters are very simple to build as they are very minimal in length. Cedar Point is getting a major coaster in 2016 a news site even leaked that it's a Dive Coaster. All construction veichles are gone, they were from a landscape company not a construction company. The companies name is all over the white and blue flags -

They are getting a massive new coaster in 2016 they have a coaster countdown on their construction fence. They let alone have a construction fence, we don't. Also view it this way; Hotel Breakers approx 700 rooms currently fully booked every weekend and most weekdays= $245, 000 USD daily on that one hotel now add all their other hotels incomes daily to that and this is why Cedar Point is getting some love now. I'd expect to see a lot of love heading their way continously. -

Nope Construction probably won't start till September if it's 2016 and if not 2016 then May 2016 for 2017 coaster launch. -

For those that have been finding me a bit negative I'm sorry, In honor of you I will start posting why construction maybe has stopped at Canada's Wonderland. Below I will post a photo of construction in September on Gatekeeper. No stakes, no footers and hardly anything done.. So if you compare our site to theirs then maybe you have reason to hold onto hope. -
2014 Theme Park Attendance Report
CedarFair1 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
and yet again this reiterates why Canada's Wonderland has become the spoiled child of the Cedar Fair chain. Strong attendance numbers and always holding it's title for #1 attended seasonal theme park. -

Update on what I saw and took a picture of onsite. A friend helped me determine what is on those flatbeds. It's counter weights to a truck crane which assembles low parts of coasters/ thrill rides and larger cranes. video-1433387722.mp4.mp4 -

They haven't broken ground they moved dirt around and cleared the land. Cedar Point was suppose to get their coaster in 2017 and Canada's Wonderland in 2016 due to last minute decision we exchanged years. -

I actually have an exact number for how much money they lost in conversion rates, it's in their annual report. They lost 49 million dollars in conversion rates in 2014 but that also shows you how much money they made lol
