  1. Kudos to CWFansite for these pictures of Skyrider and signs that were up for Leviathan construction.
  2. Only complete pussies have issues with Maverick's restraints. For the rest of us, they are just fine. I'm in fucking love with your posts, you need your own TV show for Travel especially in the UK with your somewhat dark humor
  3. I retract my statement, if you watch the video it is very obvious the trains are the only thing going when death reaches out to touch the train it disappears in the next clip and then shows just the track layout, but you can clearly see them show the station empty after he touches the train.
  4. So, two stand up roller coasters close in 2014 to make way for "future projects", anyone else seeing a similar attraction for both Canada's Wonderland and Cedar Point? Reading the announcement and news articles they sure word it like its gone, and Cedar Fair could just want nothing to do with stand up coasters.
  5. Does anyone think relocating Mantis to Canada's Wonderland is an option at all? I'd be so upset if so the ride hurts so much I rode it two weeks ago with my partner and he hated it to I really hope we don't see Mantis show up...
  6. I actually don't think a launched flyer would be good....you'd be looking at the ground the entire time.....maybe it's just me, but I rather be looking forward during a launch. You know what coaster would fit in that space without having to go towards White Water Canyon, A Dive Coaster. Station and lift head in same direction as Skyriders did, then a turn around on top of lift and then do what dives to best, dive loop up and then dive loop station.
  7. So has anyone else noticed a trend in building the record of different coaster in each of their top parks, so lets rule out some B&M coaster additions; Cedar Point- B&M Wing Coaster (tallest/longest/fastest) Carowinds- B&M Giga (longest/fastest) Kings Island- B&M Invert (longest) Kings Dominion- B&M floorless (longest)- but also Cedar Point may get a floorless if the rumor ends up having any truth to it. Canada's Wonderland 2016 options- Floorless coaster cause Kings Dominions is a bit out dated but maybe not if Cedar Point gets one in 2015, Flyer coaster, sitting coaster (launched or tallest/fastest/longest) I think a launched Flyer would be wicked and draw a lot of tourism to the park. Just saying, a launched flyer would be sick!
  8. It will probably be rebuilt right beside the employee entrance, all I know is the city of Vaughan is covering the cost of rebuilding that car entrance as it was part of the agreement and it says it will start surveying the land in June 2014 which has already happened and construction of the finished new car entrance will be September 2015. https://www.vaughan.ca/FAST/Pages/results.aspx?k=cedar%20fair%20zoning&s=All%20Sites For those interested just use that search engine on the top and type things like cedar fair or canada's wonderland and other words like 2016, 2015, 2014 or zoning reports, or construction/building reports. Thats where I found a lot of this information I'm getting. We also can expect to see the file for 2016 coaster when they release August construction request report which will be in 4 months time, I say August cause thats when they requested Guardian in 2013.
  9. Its a car entrance that Vaughan was talking about and it is going to be the same entrance they used before just reopening and slightly moved a bit.
  10. Maybe Mamba is the new coasters name after all, considering they have to pay a yearly fee for trademarks. Notice how they abandon some or if you do a search, they search some and don't use. Anyways still going through a bunch of files, but by September 2015 Canada's Wonderland will have a second guest entrance again for parking, and two haunted houses in the mountain again. That's all I've gotten from the reports between May 2013- June 2014 so far. Mamba still trademarked and not used for for water slide.. NO ZIZ?
  11. Cedar Fair- Canada's Wonderland (beautiful park) Disney- Hollywood Universal- Orlando Six Flags- Magic Mountain
  12. Yup and trust me were lucky we live in Canada, I can find our 2016 attraction cost, size and type the minute they file a work permit. I'm looking through a bunch of files now cause it has to be somewhere for them to tear down skyrider. It's for the haunt attractions cause there's two work orders in that report for smaller attractions in the mountain
  13. Currently going through all of 2012-2014 construction request files ;p I found a mandate that the city of Vaughan has to build an alternate entrance for Canada's Wonderland to replace the one the hospital is taking away and it's due to be done in September 2015. Here's the Wonder Mountain Guardian construction request, just going through months upon months and even years of files.
  14. So I am currently going through Canada's Wonderlands files that I ordered from the City of Vaughan, and anyone can do so by the way. There's lots of information that you can leak from these reports. I just want to ask before I post the stuff on here, but am I allowed to post documents that I legally obtained from the city council in which Canada's Wonderland is located in?
  15. I agree except that it's pretty obvious it's going to be a B&M and probably Ziz, and that olympic venue thing is just a coincidence.
  16. Were not going to be getting a gatekeeper clone, and we ARE NOT going to get an RMC, you can expect an RMC when you hear wildbeaste or mine buster are closing down.
  17. http://www.yorkregion.com/news-story/4736300-updated-canada-s-wonderland-s-iconic-roller-coaster-skyrider-makes-last-loop-labour-day/ Once it makes its last ever loop-de-loop, the iconic coaster will be disassembled, with parts of it going to the National Coaster Museum in Texas and the rest into recycling, according to Dave Phillips, Canada’s Wonderland vice-president of marketing and sales. The ride will make way for something brand new, exciting and innovative, he added. “The plan is to develop the land for future use. It’s on a prime piece of land in the middle of our park,” Phillips said of SkyRider. “Based on our history at the park, if you look at what’s happened since 2008, we’ve put in two of the top 10 fastest coasters in North America and we’re ranked as one of the top three parks in North America. We’ve put in Behemoth and Leviathan. I can’t define how long it will take, but guests should be excited (about what’s to come),” he added.
  18. That's exactly why they will most likely bulldoze the service road beside Splash Works that is only being used during haunt as an entrance to Corn Stalkers versus going into white water canyon forest. On top of this they will probably make a fancy midway and newer entrance to Splash Works during this addition making that whole Splash Works midway more modern. All they have to do is bulldoze the concrete road versus getting trucks/ cranes and bulldozers in between white water canyon just to pour coaster supports, it would take away from the atmosphere of white water canyon, and we know they aren't tearing it out as its got massive waits in summer as a refreshing choice to cool down. The picture below shows where the station/ launch and break run will be and where I think we will see the layout go. Also I think Kunpc1 from CWMania hit it on the dot, we won't see a splash works expansion this year cause next year there will be the reconstruction of that midway and that's when you'll see the new upgrade to the Splash Works entrance and maybe some cabana's next year to. I think the York Region article was a good hint as to we can expect something very large in the coming years "Worlds fastest, longest Wing coaster." Better organized and colour coded

  20. 2016 coaster location We have it wrong, the station and break run will take up skyriders location but won't head into white water canyon, it will most likely replace the seldom used service road next to splash works (I.E. where you enter cornstalkers for halloween haunt) and then turn around near the highway and head back towards timber wolf falls/ vortex and have the typicaL B&M finale where it goes for a helix or turn near the water and back to the station. Most likely option is a launched B&M wing coaster
  21. Mamba is the only trademark currently filed by Cedar Fair for Canada's Wonderland, but that fits with the new water slide waiting to be installed. Ziz is an assumption as Canada's Wonderland has used two Jewish bible themed names already with only one remaining.
  22. http://www.newstalk1010.com/news/2014/08/06/skyrider-shutting-down-on-september-1st More talk on this being a big project that can take more then 1 year to build! Next year while construction for a new coaster begins in that area, we will see a splash works expansion ( or just a couple slides added) out near Minebuster. Then in 2016 we will see this "big addition" and maybe the addition of some cabins out behind splash works. That is my honest guess and I know there isn't any room for cabins but I honestly feel like some sort of on site stay is coming to this park. The stand up coaster being removed isn't for the splash works as in the article it says the project could take more then a year, or 2 or 3! Notice how they can't even tease us about this project yet as its so far away from now. If it were for splash works they would tease us and drop hints and let the media in on a bit of hints.
  23. Did anyone else notice that the cost of this investment was not disclosed I think this is a very expensive addition and Cedar Fair doesn't want to disclose just how much this dark ride/ mine coaster costs.
  24. This has to be the new ride, trio tech and Zamperla just teamed up together to bring this dark ride to life. So it matches Cedar Fairs new innovative interactive dark ride description from the conference call.
  25. So now after seeing the hole this morning, can say that it is not for the new ride what so ever. There's holes all over the mountain and it's (Patch work) so as you can see in this picture the massive hole has mesh covering now. There are plenty of smaller holes with mesh coverings or already filled in. Seems like the mountain is being patched and going to be repainted sometime this Fall or Winter The new ride however I have no clue where it's going to go, cause I'm suddenly doubting that it's a small attraction anymore and may think this to be a decent sized family coaster kind of like Verbolten. Why do I feel like were looking at a BIG addition investment wise; 1. A PUBLIC announcement first for Canada's Wonderland where they invited all passholders for a 6am-9am early entry and early access to rides and for a 7 am announcement. 2. The twitter and facebook teasers use the word Big and have even told some guests that they have tricks up their sleeves to top Leviathan. 3.Seems like President Matt Ouiment see's a lot of opportunity for Canada's Wonderland, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's a splash works/ hotel & waterpark year round type of thing along with thise dark ride.. just saying! the hole keeps getting bigger! "That's what he said"
