  1. maybe two wing coasters, or a hyper for you guys and wing coaster for CW
  2. It started from a bunch of land clearing going around skyriders old spot, and around Minebuster and the two new thrill rides announced are not going in those spots. Also to news outlets the parks rep said from what you've seen added to the park since 2008 and on you should expect something amazing. They then went on to say Wonderland was under a multi year large redevelopment project. sources posted below, I think the end of this multi year large redevelopment project will be 2 new thrills in 2016 a large wing coaster in 2017 new resturaunt and family/. waterpark in 2018 and hotel in 2019 or hotel in 2017 with the coaster launch as we know accommodations/ hotels are being built in 2017 and 2019. According to Phillips, Wonderland will be undergoing a large redevelopment program after Sept. 1. Currently, SkyRider sits on 5,100 square metres of prime space right between the Splash Works and the mountain. Here, Wonderland saw an opportunity. “We like to space out (our ideas) over time and we always want to be innovative and leading the industry,” Phillips said. “Guests still like it and it’s a great attraction, but you have to look within the park to understand what’s best for the future.” Though Phillips was mum on any details about what will be happening next, he said there were “certainly” concepts in mind for a new attraction. The difficult decision to close SkyRider was due in part to the aging coaster’s location. The ride sits on 5,100 square metres of prime land between the water park and Wonder Mountain, and the park’s executives decided the spot would be a perfect place for their next big attraction. Phillips was tight-lipped about what that attraction might be or how long it will take to complete. “All I can tell you is it’s a very large construction project,” he said. “If you look at our history, over the last five to seven years, I think guests know it will be something exciting.” http://www.torontosun.com/2014/08/06/canadas-wonderland-closing-stand-up-skyrider-roller-coaster http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/08/07/after_29_years_skyriders_ride_comes_to_an_end.html
  3. aha cause Canada's Wonderlands getting a massive coaster in 2017 suppose to be a multi launch Wing Coaster
  4. This, has to be one of the most infantile posts I've ever seen here on TPR! I mean, not only are you making ridiculous assertions (going to a SF park will kill you - "I prefer to live"), and speak of things you admit you don't know (you've never been to a park, but you're going to say what they look like inside?), you also completely misrepresent my post (ignoring all the good things I mentioned CF has done for their parks), and you insult me personally, as if you know anything about me, my intelligence, or my business acumen (which is actually quite stellar!) On top of that, your rant (which is all it is - a CF fanboy rant) is written poorly, and is about as nuanced as having a tank fall on one's head. Lastly, while by one definition I may be an "enthusiast" (anybody posting on TPR or any other fansite has to be to an extent), I have actually been out of the enthusiast loop for almost ten years, raising a family, and interacting with mostly non enthusiasts. I actually have a perspective on the industry that is very heavily steeped in GP and non-enthusiast outlook, and understanding. So again, please don't make assertions about me that are baseless, and that you'd have no possibility of actually knowing! If you are so disappointed in the rides CF is adding why have one of the amazing additions as your display picture. I just hate how all these smaller park fan boys expect a coaster, great additions are not always coasters. Larson loopers for everyone if we started thinking Six Flags mentality.
  5. +1 While I do agree with your post, I also have to say that I understand both where Cedar Fair, and Six Flags are coming from, in how they have chosen to run their businesses over the past 5-8 years. Both parks hit a rough patch when the economy tanked, with SF going through bankruptcy and CF dealing with a ridiculously large debt load in rough financial times. Both parks have had to weather that storm, and are doing much better today than they were then! But how they reached this point, has definitely been through different means, and park investment strategies. Personally, I prefer what SF has done as far as not relegating any of their parks (with the exception of The Great Escape) to the complete back-burner, and continuing to add exciting capital improvements every few years, at least. CF has really focused on their new acquisitions (and their flagship Cedar Point, of course), and consequently, it has left the fan bases for the smaller CF parks (many of which were getting regular coaster additions prior to the Paramount acquisitions) feeling left out in the cold. The reality is, however, that CF has been meticulous and smart in their infrastructure improvements for all their parks, including those smaller ones, while SF has definitely continued to lag in that department. CF has also been able to periodically drop a sizeable coaster investment in their parks, while SF has been forced to get creative with smaller, and cheaper expenditures. If it weren't for RMC, honestly, they wouldn't be thought of nearly as well, as of late, since most of their "premier" additions as of late have been from them. I am optimistic that the CF parks will slowly all get a new major coaster investment over the next five years or so, in addition to all of their infrastructure, kids offering, and water park improvements! In the meantime though, even though I understand where CF is coming from, it's no less frustrating to me from a fan's perspective. I sir disagree.. I for one have and never will visit a Six Flags park, I prefer to live thank you. The parks look terrible with rides built on top of concrete. Your so upset about coasters not being added but have failed to point out the good Cedar Fair has done for it's parks. You can tell when your at a Cedar Fair park, it's beautiful and clean and the employees are super nice. Front gates look impressive, and their attendance grows more rapidly. They are a business and they know what they are doing, this isn't roller coaster tycoon, you as an enthusiast don't know what is good for the parks at all, you can't run a billion dollar business... So stop pretending like you can... Matt Ouimet knows what he is doing and trust me 10 years from now you'll see the greater picture.
  6. His complaint about WMG is valid. When it comes to dark rides, whether or not it's at a Cedar Fair park, immersiveness is the most important part. A giant black wall with a visible drop track and a bunch of technology out in the open? Not immersive at all. It looks like a warehouse with a coaster running through it. I mean, for less than what WMG cost, Six Flags got Justice League, which I have ridden and, while I haven't ridden WMG, I'm sure JL blows it out of the water. The queue is immersive enough, the ride looks completed and has a nice balance of physical and digital sets, and it has a nice simulator ending. (BTW, I know most CW visitors will never ride JL, but I just wanted to point out that SF delivered a much better ride than CF did with a smaller budget.) As for the comments about lack of a coaster: Can you CW fanboys just STFU please? Your whining about not getting a new coaster is annoying. Sorry you can't get a mega coaster every year, and like others have mentioned, lots of CF parks need new coasters more than you do. Be happy with your two new flats, which is the next best thing to a coaster. As far as I know, VF, MiA, and DP haven't announced any new rides yet. Be thankful for getting TWO. If you haven't ridden guardian how do you know if his complaint is valid or not. As far as "seeing" the drop track goes I've never heard anyone in line saying "hey look at that drop track over there" they just see the door open then the train comes out they see their scores and get off the ride with a big smile on their face cause the drop gets your pulse going Families love the ride, absolutely love the ride. Is it ugly to us comparing it to other dark rides... YES, very ugly. Is it more complex then justice league oh hell yes, more technology went into it but without the looks to go with it it just looks like a manufacturing plant..
  7. I can't even with these Canada's Wonderland fans anymore... You know we can go back to the Paramount age of adding crap coasters like Tomb Raider... GET THE F OVER YOURSELVES!!!! We are beyond spoiled and have gotten really great additions and another coaster coming in 2017...... We have had 3 coasters added in a 8 year period and make that 4 coasters added in a 10 year period once 2017 rolls around!!!!! Other parks are looking at us going WTF!!!
  8. lol was Wonderland like Nah Gurl your 115 ft max height just won't cut it we want 135 ft... lol
  9. spoiled much, can't wait till 2017?
  10. If I hear weeeees coming out of Robb Alvey then I know this is going to be a great ride, especially with the added height and being on top of a hill! Location confirmed across from Windseeker next to Slingshot! located on the hill across from Windseeker and beside Slingshot.
  11. Canada's Wonderland is getting ready for another announcement!
  12. 10 more minutes for your announcement
  13. thats 3 tower rides very close together which is a bit weird lol
  14. Skyhawk is loacated next to slingshot and across from windseeker next to the mountain on the hill. I circled the area in red. The flying eagles has the kids area in the background so in the kids area. skyhawks location
  15. NEW FOR 2016 Canada's Wonderland is dominating flat rides; Skyhawk, the first ride of its kind in North America, will take riders to a new level of adventure when the park opens for its 35th season in 2016. Riders will take control of their own cockpit, showcasing their flying abilities as they maneuver through 360 degree turns, and challenge themselves to engage in multiple inversions at 135 feet (41m) in the air. Flying Eagles will thrill little pilots and quickly become a family favourite for parents and children alike. These two-person planes will glide 28 feet (8.5m) above the ground and allow each rider to control their flight and ride experience. Flying eagles Skyhawk
  16. its a drop slide plaza and the removal of two ticket plazas
  17. Yeah....no! Those check marks probably shouldn't be assigned that way anyway because multiple parks could add some of those in the same year. And your lack of other parks mentioned just shows how you think the business operates (and your "sorry who" comment proves that). Dorney and MiA will also receive things in those years, and for the other parks to be lumped together like that just makes it to where anything is possible there it seems. Not that I'm doubting some of them because I feel a few may be right. But we know major capital is also on the way for MiA per a release not too long ago. As for CW, I sense some waterpark stuff for next year. Also, that 2018 coaster re-work you have circled I think will be for Mean Streak at CP and not for CW. And CP's dark ride will probably be sometime in the future and not for 2016 (maybe a VR experience but not the dark ride). Of course, just predictions. Smaller parks get less frequent and less expensive investments that's why I listed the small parks together... Also sarcasm can be missed epically sometimes, I know all the parks I simply forgot to add it tot he list. Orange just stands for all the small very low attendance parks, as Cedar Fair is very a top 5 park company. Do I think I'm going to be right on these guesses, yeah maybe like 1 or 2 out of luck lol... That's why I said predictions.. God these small Cedar Fair park fan boys get so defensive and cry so much when they year after year after year after year after yearsssss get no rides and they are confused why but don't understand, your home park has to bring in a ROI to receive big attractions and most the small parks in this chain cannot afford a 20+ million dollar large attraction.
  18. you forgot to add dorney park to the speculation chart sorry who?
  19. Wonderland specific predictions based off conference call, news articles and rumors; 2016- Food & Beverage (BBQ and Brew) & Tween/ family ride/ or Thrill Ride 2017- multi launch Wing Coaster Ziz. New hotel (if not 2017 then 2019, but I have a feeling we will have a hotel installed for the opening of Ziz in 2017) 2018- Minebuster removal, nothing added 2019- Thrill Ride or Family Ride or Splash Works addition. 2020- Infrastructure or nothing 2021- Coaster to replace Minebuster
  20. OMG I am so sorry :$ You just made me die of laughing though lol
