Looks like KingsWood Theatre is biting the dust to make room for the new indoor water park/ resort. The theatre is usually home to a halloween haunt maze, but that maze has been discontinued this year and nothing to replace it. Also the theatre can be seen being torn apart along with a new entrance to the park being built beside it with two entrance booths that have appeared with wiring. I'm assuming with no knowledge that the hotel may go where Kings Wood Theatre is with that near by entrance to the park for hotel guests. Now the parking lot near this site has new construction markers all over it that cover such a large area and this could be for a parking garage as our parking lot this summer has reached beyond max capacity on most weekends and if this hotel is going here like rumoured it will eat up some spots as well. Attached below are the pictures showing how full our parking lot gets with cars parked on the grass this season (never seen this before) and the new construction markers on a large portion of the parking lot near to the rumoured resort site. So FULL! I've never seen the parking lot this full! Canada's Wonderland is having an amazing season! Parking Garage is going to be needed soon :0 new markings appeared in the parking lot, all located near kings wood and seem to be blocking in a large portion of the lot. mass amount of markings headed toward front gate Looks like some demolition in Kings Wood with no signs of Haunt. This theatre hasn't been used this year to my knowledge neither except for a christian rock band concert. new entrance with two new booths added which look like front gate pass/ ticket scanners coming. The new entrance located next to the rumoured future site of the resort -

There's some weird work being done around Minebuster. There 4 new footers, a cement funnel, 2 bulldozers aside from the Muskoka Plunge ones, and some red/ orange markers in the grass. Land activity orange markers, and a digger. 4 new footers, next to Minebuster -

Construction sighting at the park. Some of the photos didn't turn out the best due to all the foilage blocking the view. The green area's are construction personnel and vehicles, the red area's are bulldozing and dirt movement the two area's of most activity weird area that was opened up and has random objects and non company cars parked. to the right of the storage area a path/ road into the forest has been bulldozed behind splash works not a great photo, but there's random area's bulldozed in the forest. non company cars parked which leads me to believe this is an offsite construction project, so maybe coaster or lodging? bulldozing behind action theater opened area with cars parked int he forest between white water canyon and action theater 2 diggers behind white water canyon more bulldozed/ dug up area's along the service road -

So I've done some serious thinking, Cedar Fair would be beyond smart to invest in a nice Hotel on site. Here's why; 1. they would for sure fully book the hotel especially if they offered fast lanes to guests for free (included in cost of room) like Universal does. 2. With the economy looking very poor and here to stay, Canadians from all around are looking for the new Disney/ Universal experience with out the dollar conversion. 3. The parks distance to Toronto, Mississauga, and Vaughan Mills and with all the corporate offices near by, they could keep the hotel open all season and make money that way. (on the Q3 conference call they talked about investing in hotels and sport complexes on most of their properties to expand their revenue. 4. Green stakes appeared near the highway on Wonderland's property near the black hole forest, we also now know the black hole forest is having bulldozing take place. Wonderland has stated they take their tree count very seriously and try to remove as little as possible. Well there is tons of room to expand the water park without going into that forest. I honestly feel like were seeing early signs to a Hotel Breakers back there for 2019/2020 opening (since they take forever to build). 5. It's the right time to invest american currency into the park with our low economy. They can hire cheap labour, cheap materials and the market is extremely competitive in terms of companies fighting over contracts. I know some here think were not getting a hotel anytime soon and they will roll their eyes at me, but I just feel the evidence from quarterly results, the investment charts, and the weird land clearing and stakes on the outer perimeter of the park kind of points towards a Hotel Breakers. This could also explain the delay in announcement due to external factors. Maybe they're waiting for everything to be finalized and marketing aspects to be completed. Remember with the removal of SKyrider, they did say they couldn't say how many years it would take but its a multi-year large investment project... -

Well I am actually a tiny bit confident in getting a new SOMETHING next year. New footers and bulldozing near skyrider. It might not be a B&M or even any coaster, but even a good flatride I will be more than happy. I came into this year expecting nothing, so anything should surprise me. Wait... There are footers and bulldozing in Skyrider's land now? THERE IS ZERO BULLDOZING AND FOOTERS. There is land clearing behind Black Hole in the forest and I have a feeling that's for a future hotel breakers. Wonderland has said they take their tree's very seriously and try to remove as little as possible and they have a ton of land free for water park expansion so my only guess for removing a whole forest is Hotel Breakers or camp ground. -

It could be but it's very Mystic Timbers like. It's a very long stretch of path bulldozed in to the forest, much more then needed for a slide complex and way out of play for a complex too -

KD FANS MUST READ Reasons to invest in families and kids; 1. Families come in larger groups then young adults and teenagers. 2. Families spend more money on tickets and food then young adults and teenagers. 3. Canada's Wonderland one of the chains biggest parks has had tremendous success with expanding the kids area to a very large extent so why not copy and paste? 4. Investing in families encourages repeats visits by these high average ticket spenders which in turn will eventually lead to large investments. 5. Yall started in the kids area at some point before coming to this forum and demanding coasters. Do you all want 5-10 million dollar coasters, or would you prefer the 30 million dollar ones? 6. Cedar Fair knows how to invest in the park beyond anyone on here. Stop trying to act like this is Roller Coaster Tycoon and you're in charge.. They have people in charge of studies and figuring out what's best. The fact that the park keeps growing, means they're doing their job well and to shut up and let them do their thang! -

What's so bad about a Planet Snoopy expansion? If you look online, Canada's Wonderland has a massive kids area. It's got so many rides and really looks so beautiful compared to other cedar fair parks. Canada's Wonderland is also the most attended seasonal park. If you go into the kids area on any given day its crazy busy with large families that come in large groups and buy lots of food and do lots of repeat visits and visit the water park and spend there too, where as dry park fans come in groups of 1-2 on average and spend less then large families with kids. A park seeking to invest in families and kids is THE SMARTEST decision a park can make. I think these smaller cedar fair parks are learning something from Wonderland and basic business knowledge and investing in the right area's to entice repeats visits which results in higher earnings. Families spend more then teenagers and young adults at amusement parks, end of story. -

"The capital announcement date is still pending and instead of waiting, we wanted to announce our 2017 Season Pass offer to make sure guests can take advantage of the last two weeks of August with the free ticket and free Fast Lane Plus offer." So my guess is early September for an announcement date then, wonder what the holdup could be. -

well funny you mention that.. did you look at the ppictures, theres land clearing, the removal of skyrider two years ago to make room for something new. Where did I say I was confident though lol.. NO where. I if you follow CWMania on facebook have stated I do not think it's coming in 2017, and that this is prep work for 2018. -

People seem to forget, families make up a massive portion of attendance figures at parks. Without family additions your park wouldn't exist.. Be happy you get investments every year even if it's a tree or snowcone guy -
