It's totally going to be Canada's Wonderland their test park

well no not really in construction green markers on tree mean keep, which is what we saw.. Blue flags mean water which we know is true so white flags meaning electrical I'm going to assume mean electrical also we have the yellow stake which is power supply.

Im going to go back to my original rumor as it seems to have been true from a source on here Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland swapped coaster years due to a last minute decision. What is going in next year has not even been planned yet but something is coming. Also this source pointed out hey everyone is so vocal about the sprinkler system that went in but no one noticed the yellow and white flags marking the elctrical work that went in as well ( cough cough for a future launch) . Just be patient and wait for 2017 as we got a small coaster in 2014 and Wonderland is set to break a significant attendance record this season.

Sorry I think I made it sound like we were doing bad, Canada's Wonderland and Carowinds and Californias Great America is the sole reason Cedar Fair is experiencing such growth this year with Canada's Wonderland leading the way in attendance growth. Matt Ouimet said everyone is going to be very impressed by the 2016 investments which will be announced at the parks within the next couple weeks and he used plural. They were joking at the end of the call aboout how well the canada property is doing despite the dollar situation. Also WMG could so use the virtual reality to replace the ugliness and maybe that is the coaster they are testing it on??

This is a test to see if they can make an older coaster better without building a 30 million dollar coaster. ~Highest season pass sales this year ever in history for Cedar Fair along with highest in park spending. ~The "detererating" canadian dollar is negatively impacting business to the north and they expect this to be the case for the remainder of the season. However, The Canadian property is doing very well despite the dollar and the company is taking measure to counteract this ~BBQ & Brew and food trucks has been a major success for the chain,and they are looking to improve them and expand them. As I said before expect to see Brew and BBQ in 2016 at Canada's Wonderland. ~Parks, plural will be announcing their attractions in the weeks to come, but the chain is working on making their parks a place to come have fun and not be all about coasters.

this is truth and apparently Wonderlands GM was caught saying he'd love to add a dive coaster to wonderland

Well the rumor is Cedar Point took our coaster year this year and we took theirs next year. So essentially a coaster year swap. This might explain the no teasers and signs like there was at the beginning of the season for Leviathan. They aren't even teasing us via twitter or facebook like Leviathan. That makes no sense whatsoever. "CP's was planned for this year and CW's was planned for the year following" is much more logical. One doesen't "steal" one's year for a coaster. That's enthusiasts' nonsense. It happens a lot, last minute decisions to postpone a project and bring forward a future one.

This doesn't mean no coaster, this is the cities money paying for this, it's all part of the contract for the sale of land and taking away a guest entrance into the parking lot. However it is weird nothing has come up on the site yet for the coaster or construction as you can see everyhting on the site even the telephone pole near behemoth is on there. Anything anyone wants to build is on there lol

from what I've heard about Canada's Wonderland breaking an attendance record and comp growth % this year we will be seeing nice things. Look at parks that do over 4 million and Canada's Wonderland with the games and nice weather is going to surpass 4 million visitors.

It's such a hard one cause Canada's Wonderland is due for a coaster in 2016 based off of trends (every 5 years for big parks) and Cedar Point isn't. However it's pretty obvious Cedar Point is getting one but they have bought two coasters in a year before for their parks. Can it be the end of August already, Canada's Wonderland always announces last!

Matt Ouimet has stated there will be no dark ride additions in 2016, I think CP is getting a 15 million dollar Dive Coaster and in 2017 a dark ride.

I really am starting to get excited in the fact that I hope I am wrong about no new coaster in 2016 cause we do have more physical signs of a coaster project for 2016 then them even though we know they are getting a coaster. So will it be two parks getting a coaster in the chain in 2016? Just compare our site to theirs. cedar points construction so far, no markers, no flags and no signs of coaster other then teasers.

Just start calling Canada's Wonderland your home park especially after attendance figures are released this season and we break 4 million guests. We will be the new spoiled child aha

I love your trip report cause what alot of us coaster enthusiasts don't understand is how "family" oriented Canada's Wonderland is. The kids section and water park are more crowded then the coasters on most given sunny days in Summer. This is why were not always going to see coasters added every 4-5 years. However after my most recent visit 2 days ago I agree now something has to be taking that place it's so ugly to look at and people were commenting on it as i stood there and took pictures. It's generating a lot of talk about whats replacing it.

Small update, red flags have appeared, the exact same flags over by Minebuster. More water pipe work was done, I have no idea what for or why.. I'm not curious to this area as they are leaving it in a very ugly state, with no sorry for our appearance signs anywhere.
