  1. The double-loop looks terrifying. They've a smiliar non-inverting coaster by Pinfari at Vienna Prater that looks like this and shakes you around like hell - galdy that one had only lapbars. I guess you guys had hot ears after riding this thing with OTSRs...
  2. Demonen at Tivoli Copenhagen - more punch than most B&M coasters due to its compact layout, still one of my fav B&Ms as most of them lack Gs for my taste...
  3. Looked like you had some good fun. Was germany also there with a dish? Didn't noticed anything german... And the Escargots were quite made to please as the snail meat normally boiled in butter en naturel and served that way.
  4. As far as I can see it's all correctly translated.
  5. Olympia Looping is current at Bremen Freimarkt till the 4th of November. And you need two weeks to move Olympia to a new location. De-construction and construction is at best 5 days each plus at least 1 day for transport - Truck to cargo trainstation, loading onto a freight-train, train to next location, unloading from train to trucks and truck transport to carnival - so you've 11 days at best. As far as I know Olympia will go into the winter hiatus after Bremen and resume service coming spring.
  6. Maybe because those are Knock-Offs? The original design is by Sorani&Moser and even if it isn't my fav flat I didn't found it that terrible.
  7. Olympia Looping at Bremen Freimarkt last Sat
  8. ^Are Tagada's even allowed in the US. One can get hurt on them, you know?
  9. ^I mostly remember a hard kick into my left kidney - it was one of the roughest and most painful coasters I ever did. I didn't noticed those effects - maybe they were down...
  10. I've only ridden 5 dark coasters so far an rate them the following: Space Mountain Disneyland - best so far in ride and effects Höllenblitz carnival - ride ok, effects ok Linnunrata Linnanmaki - ride ok, effects meh Vogel Rok Efteling - ride ok, effects meh Euro-Sat Europa-Park - ride terrible, effects meh (were there any???)

  12. It can always get better by getting dark as night falls over the carnival and all lights come up. Time for the last spin on Olympia Looping for this year See you coming spring! Dancing in the dark... One of the most beautiful rides Wildwasser has more lights than a local sports field SWIRL!!! Flash going over ones heads plus note the nice LED package on the ferris wheel And now it gets crowded At this time of day the turnaround time is about 30 seconds Operator booming over the sound system: "All cars taken. Clear the platform. Clear the platform. We start now. All hands behind the red line!" And off one goes... Wild mouse is blue at night Flic-Flac also colorful at night Finishing off a great day with a ride on Airwolf
  13. Even more rides closed than in US parks I visited. Always wonder what's the basic problem of all the rides closures. Andreas Leicht of Hansa-Park lately stated that every ride in his park should be open on 98% of opening days - and if this can't be achieved the ride goes out of the window sooner than later. Of course this is a seasonal park so they can do rehab on the closed winter months but Happy Valley just looks bad on this account - I'd be feeling cheated off my money. Well at Vienna Prater it took about a minute or two to unload/load - guess they're just doing it wrong...
  14. You're mistaken about this - it's called "theming".
  15. ^Gerstlauer also builds classic sitdown Polyps based on the Schwarzkopf design - I've ridden their brandnew "Jukebox" at Liseberg this year and ride is amazing and ultra-smooth. They now feature individual hydraulic lapbars - on one hand you can't "work" the ride by moving from side to side to spin it up, on the other hand it's more save for riders with different sizes as with one lapbar for all can get dangerous if voluminous grandfather and grandchild ride and the latter is not really protected. They also still have the Schwarzkopf Walzerfahrt - Tilt-A-Whirl - in their catalog.
  16. Good to have this list. On popular parks one sometimes gets pages of search results and quite a hassle to find the correct threat.
  17. More pictures from the Freimarkt! View over the carnival from the ferris wheel Yes, it's a big Dancer No.2 I spot a Flic-Flac Actual marriage on the ferris wheel! Always the busiest ride at all german carnivals Taking a break on the steps while waiting for your ride Bumper-Cars! If the Waveswinger is not high enough for you a StarFlyer is also here New bouncy ride Here you can win flowers! Now it will get wild... The ride cycle is more intense and longer than on the Dragen at Tivoli Gardens Maurer-Söhne spinner. Nighttime pictures coming soon!
  18. Anton Schwarzkopf originally thought to built his Shuttle Loops with a magnetic launch but found no LSM/LIM system that had an appropriate price/reliability ratio and switched to a mechanical launch using a pusher.
  19. Had a wonderful day at the Bremen Freimarkt. With tons of rides one of the best german carnivals in germany if you ask me. Visited on a warm but slightly overcast day - but as it's forecasted to be one of the last warm days this year and with a major league soccer game next door the carnival was packed with poeple. For the first time at Freimarkt were the Schwarzkopf/Gerstlauer Absoluter "Parkour" and the HUSS Mega-Dance/FlicFlac "Devil Rock". First a stroll over classic Freimarkt at the city center. Classic Ferris Wheel and Carousel On to the Bürgerweide you see the 3 biggest poertable rides of the world: Olympia Looping, log-flume "Wildwasser 3" and 65 meter ferris wheel "Steiger Riesenrad" Welcome to the best! If Anton smiles from up above seeing his rides still pleasing the crowds? Standard Break-Dancer with unique theming Love rider impressions... Frisbee (left), Airwolf (center) and Happy Sailor (right) Huge portable log-flume made by MACK "Wildwasser" is "WildWater" in english Lots and lots of water - and even cleaner than in chinese parks... Offering two turntables with a backwards drop A small darkride section is also on the log-flume Towring at 30 meters - ride finsishing with two 15 meter drops Parkour was first built by Wieland Schwarzkopf and later on refurbished by Gerstlauer The ride is far more intense and erratic than a ride on a sitdown Schwarzkopf Monster Never too old to hang upside down high in the air... Classic MACK musicexpress always a crowd pleaser. Far more to come...
  20. Always wonder how Soquet stays in business. Except for some far-out exports to Africa and South-America they seem to be content to sell their coasters only inside france...
  21. Took my last two spins on Olympia Looping for this year today at Bremen Freimarkt.
  22. Another construction slideshow - including a view on the unenclosed Höllenblitz. Source: Kreiszeitung newspaper
  23. Some impressions from the ride construction at Freimarkt starting tomorrow from local newspaper Weser-Kurier. As we've wonderful indian summer weather this weekend I'll be there with some friends on saturday for rides and beers... Edit: Changed the e-word, was late last night...
  24. I wonder how many diseases are tranferred by the water in their waterrides. I mean at Europa-Park at Atlantica Super-Splash the water was cleaner than at many hotels pools I've seen. One question: Was the HUSS Booster and Giant Frisbee original? Or "Made in China"?
