  1. I was at the park today, I took these pics of work progess on the Texas Skyscreamer.
  2. A used Intamin would be better. Superman:ROS anyone? But with the luck SFStL seems to be having you'll probably end up with a used Morgan instead.
  3. Those blue trains look like the same ones we had here at SFOT. Sure was hoping you guys would get some new ones. I assume they'll be painted a different color, the current blue color scheme doesn't match the the new orange and green paint job on the ride itself.
  4. Good color scheme. Has anyone seen the trains yet? I'm hoping they'll be new.
  5. Not bad. Now if they just get some new trains for this thing.
  6. The seats and lapbars are essentially the same as the NTAG trains but without the side "hand" guards. The only other difference I can see is the Rattler design instead of the NTAG's horned Cadillac.
  7. SFOT and SFFT! Just imagine if NTAG and Iron Rattler were in the same park. Plus 2 Sky Screamers, one massive 400 ft version for the adults and one 200 ft "kiddie" version.
  8. That doesn't make sense. It also sounds dangerous!
  9. That's what the park staff keeps telling me. The park is supposedly getting a new coaster within the next couple of years.
  10. Several security personel at the park informed me that the area was due to be cleared for future expansion. We'll have to wait and see.
  11. In addition to Iron Rattler I'm also looking foward to riding the new 400' Texas Skyscreamer. Anything that tall is bound to be a thrill.
  12. I agree. This particular boomerang began operations at SFOT in the spring of 1989, I first rode it that year. That means it will be 24 years old by the time the first riders board it at SFstL in the spring of 2013. I simply don't understand why SFstL can't recieve a new coaster like X-Flight, for example, instead of an aging boomerang which is very near the end of it's life.
  13. I plan to be on Iron Rattler as soon as it opens.
  14. The area should be getting cleared at least. Can't wait to ride the new Texas Skyscreamer.
  15. We will know if it is the worst train if Sportsdude's gum is still in one of the seats (jk) They still might get a new train later on just like Deja Vu/Goliath did. Sorry about that. Anyway, here's hoping that you guys get new trains for the boomerang.
  16. Riding Texas Chute Out on it's final day of operation. Oh the memories.....
  17. The Big Dipper at Spring Lake amusement park in OKC. It was built in the 1920's and was involved in a race riot in 1972. Allegedly, two white kids shoved a black kid off of the Dipper resulting in hostilities between whites and blacks at the park.
  18. Ask me this question next spring after I've taken my first ride on the new 400' Texas Skyscreamer at SFOT. Swinging on a seat attached to chains that high up might just give a few enthusiasts, like myself, their new scariest ride experience.
  19. I must have waited nearly 5 hours to ride the old Big Bend at SFOT back in the mid 70's. That coaster had very low rider capacity but was the most popular ride in the park back then.
  20. It was fully operational, except in high winds.
  21. Folks at SFsTL might not be too happy if the boomerang didn't get there in one piece.
  22. A disaster being that some metal hit the road? So does this make Texas 2-for-2 in imploding their towers when they're done with them? I mean a disaster as in falling too far to the right. That thing narrowly missed the park fence as it is.
  23. Not bad. That was awfully close to the entry road though, the slightest miscalculation and they would have a disaster on their hands.
  24. It would have to fall towards the abandoned shopping area. There may be enough room if they've finished removing Flashback. On the other hand, the old bumper car building is still there. It's possible the building may be hit by a falling Chute Out tower. But they're demolishing it anyway so it may not matter.
