  1. Six Flags St Louis is literally slapping their guests in the face by claiming that a 23 year old decaying boomerang is a "brand new" attraction. I first rode this back in 1989 when it really was new. Now it's a rotting pile of scrap metal that will have a new coat of "green" paint to keep guests from noticing that it's a rotting pile of scrap metal - until they ride it, that is.
  2. It never has a line because it's simply not as popular as it once was. I've said it once and I'll say it again, it's time for the Judge to retire.
  3. Knowing SF management we'll probably be getting Ninja from SFStl. We sent them our head banging nightmare coaster, now they can send us theirs.
  4. The Judge takes up valuable space at the park. I can't help but think that something truly "world class" could be built there if the Judge were removed. Besides, it's getting old and rough. It can't possibly be helping park attendance.
  5. In all honesty, I can't see SF throwing down a lot of cash on a 23 year old boomerang which is in deteriorating condition. The most SF will pay for is a paint job. I'll bet my last nickle that those trains will be the same broken down junk heaps from SFOT. This thing is due for the scrap heap and that's probably where it'll end up after SFStL has had it a couple of years.
  6. Sounds like your gf is a real keeper(idiot). In that case, I won't tell you what I've done to some of those seats over the years. You'll probably find out anyway. Oh well, try not to think about it and enjoy your new, I mean, used boomerang.
  7. I've been on Windseeker at CP. Can't say it scared me. nor was it boring. I enjoyed the view and the exhilaration of being up so high. Texas Skyscreamer looks to be taller than Windseeker by at least 100 feet. I'm willing to bet I'll enjoy this ride just for a change of pace from coasters.
  8. That aint a bad replacement for the Texas Shootout (parachute drop). It's so tall that I'll pobably be able to see it from my house!!
  9. I see you guys are in denial, trying to convince yourselves that your not getting a used boomerang. If planning to ride the last car in the left seat, try not to sit in the gum my girlfriend stuck on it after she got out. Last time I checked it was still there. Keep in mind that SFOT didn't do half a job cleaning those cars out, there's no telling what kind of gunk you'll come across in those trains.
  10. Are we absolutely positive that it's a Starflyer? Has the announcement officially been made yet?
  11. Greetings from Texas!!!! I live about 10 mins from SFOT and would like to congratulate you on your aquisition of our precious Flashback. I was among the first to ride this boomerang when it first opened some 23 years ago. Back then it seemed like an incredible new ride experience. But of course, back then it was new. As time passed the ride got gradually rougher until only the heartiest (or drunkest) of souls would even attempt to ride it. I hadn't rode myself in sometime, but I decided to take one last ride for old time sake. Let me tell you this thing is a head banging, gut wrenching nightmare. I hope, for your sake, that they do try to refurbish this decaying piece of garbage. If, however, they intend to install it "as is", then I can only send you my deepest regrets. We've had it for 23 years, now it's yours. I don't know what they intend to replace it with here at SFOT, but anything will be better than that nightmare of a coaster that we just got rid of. After they finish installing the ride it will take them sometime to scrape the rot off of that miserable thing. Once they're done scrubbing all the mildew off they will, no doubt, start boarding victoms, I mean passengers. Keep in mind here that SFOT hasn't maintained this pile of "------" very well. One ride on it where it currently sits will telll you that. So, good luck with this piece of junk, and tell your workmen to bring plenty of scrapers to get rid of all the gum we've stuck in the trains over the years. After they get through scraping the decay off of the track supports, that is. My condolences on recieving this baby.
  12. Given SF's reputation for underwhelming announcements I wouldn't be surprised if they announced that a new parking lot will be built in that area. However, given the fact that the announcement coincides with National Roller Coaster Day, my guess would be a custom built coaster profiled to fit in that space. Some type of Intamin coaster would my greatest wish. I would love to have a coaster similar to Maverick at CP. I wouldn't mind a Starflyer if it were accompanied by a new intamin coaster of some sort. A Starflyer as the park's main new attraction would be a horrible dissapointment.
  13. Steel: Top Thrill Dragster Wood: Son of Beast
  14. My first coaster with inversions was Shock Wave at SFOT back in 1978.
  15. Thanks guys! Looking forward to a great trip.
  16. Personally, I don't mind the horn not sounding. That thing was driving me loco last time I visited the park.
  17. Dude! I take no one, and nothing seriously, including my self. I know sarcasm, and this came across as nothing like it! Guy "See, that's sarcasm!" Koepp Edit! Damn you Adam and your logical levelheadedness. Don't you have a cool refreshing coke to drink, or a test to study for? Sorry, it was intended as an angry response to almightyfire's so called review of NTAG.
  18. Your first mistake was "self respecting enthusiast". Second mistake is thinking that another group of enthusiasts will have the exact same opinion as you. The current overwhelming response seems to be the ride is fantastic, and I would be extremely surprised if they didn't love the ride as the seeming majority has. So, is this negativity your true feelings, or is this quote: How you feel? Because honestly you're bashing something the majority of folks seem to enjoy - including, it seemed, yourself. I'm a little disgusted. Apparently, you fail to recognize sarcasm when you read it. Nice try though.
  19. Come now, this ride is a failure and everone knows it. I live in the Dallas area and have a season pass to SFOT, I usually take a few rides on NTAG each week. I can attest that SFOT has wasted 10 million dollars on this horrible ride. Allmightyfire is right, I don't see how any self respecting enthusiast could put NTAG anywhere near their top ten. Instead of wasting money on this pile of crap, SFOT should have torn it down completely and used the land for an Intamin woodie instead. I understand the ACEers rode NTAG last week, no doubt their sentiments will echo my own. "Iron Horse" my ass! Rocky Mountain Construction should be ashamed of themselves for this pile of garbage they've created and the amount of money they've wasted! They won't be getting any more business after this disaster! If you're going to spend millions on anything, give it to Intamin and bring a real coaster into this park.
  20. I was at the park last Thursday, all rides were pretty much walk-ons. That won't be the case on weekends.
  21. Looks like you guys are having a blast in Japan! Sorry I wasn't able to make this trip but I'm hopeful for the next one!!!!
  22. I live here in the Dallas area and I have followed the Mavs since the team was founded in 1980. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Mavericks on their first ever NBA Championship!! Congtatulations to Dirk on his MVP!!! Thoughout these playoffs the Mavericks have overcome adverstiy with incredible heart. Caron Butler has been out since January, Brendon Haywood went out in the second game of the serires with a hip injury. But these guys refused to give up and now they've brought home the Larry O'Brien trophy! You guys deserve this!!!!
  23. In that case you really do know a lot about SFOT. Don't suppose you have any info on plans the park has for the future?
  24. Are you talking to me or the thread starter?
