  1. Very good!! Cyrus Cosmo, I remember him well. As for Big Bend, I believe there was a ride called Jet Set that had to be removed to make way for BB's queue. I was sadened when they removed Spinnaker, however, I have ridden the Wagon Wheel at SFFT and I'm convinced it's the same ride. I'm all for getting rid of Flashback and bringing back Roto Disco. Not only was it a better ride, but it was indoors and air conditioned. I remember being scared to go on the Tree Slide for fear that I would get stuck! I'm clausterphobic! Now for my next question.... How many deaths have occured at SFOT? On which rides? This one should be easy.
  2. I have a few questions..... In what year was "Big Bend" first opened? What ride occupied the area prior to "Big Bend"'s construction? In what year was "Spindle Top" removed? What type of ride was "Spindle Top"? "Spinniker" was added in what year? Which celebrity was used to promote it? Why was it removed? In which park is it currently located. How long was the old "Tree Slide" in operation at the park. The park was used to film scenes for 2 Saturday morning kids shows during the late 60's- name them. What type of ride was "Roto-Disco", why was it removed? What was the name of the parks 70's mascot? What catch phrase was used in park promotions during the 70's ? .. I'll ask more once you've answered these.
  3. Thanks but I already knew most of that.
  4. I will rent a car if no public transport is available. I plan to spend the whole trip at the park, no other plans.
  5. I am planning to a visit to Great Adventure this summer for my first ever rides on El Toro and Kinda Ka! I'll be flying in from DFW. I need info such as closest airport to fly into and closest hotels ect. I plan to leave in late July, my birthday is July 29th and I intend to spend it at the park!
  6. There's no question, New Texas Giant is the best refurb- hands down!
  7. I'm sure the saddle horn is there for themeing purposes. I usally have my hands in the air for the entirety of the ride, I have never attempted to hold on to the saddle horn at any time. I'm not sure if it works or not. Funny thing though, last time I rode the back seat the guy sitting next to me couldn't figure out what to hold onto either. During the first drop he promptly grabbed my outstretched arm!! Made me wish there had been something for him to hold onto.
  8. God, I feel so lucky to live right down the highway from this awesome ride!!!! I have my season pass and I'll be riding NTAG all season long!!! This ride is just so awesome!! In fact, I'll be back out at the park on Wednesday for more NTAG fun!!
  9. I vote for "Iron Horse" coaster as the official name of this new RMC jewel of a ride.
  10. I've ridden the Georgia Cyclone , the full NTAG treatment is it's only hope !
  11. Not surprising considering that NTAG's structure is mostly wood. The fire marshall is likely a huge NTAG fan and doesn't want to see his favorite coaster burnt to the ground.
  12. Sounds like you guys had fun! Having ridden the NTAG at night myself I know how insane it is! So, everyone enjoyed SFOT's new toy?
  13. Robb- I also have "Big Bend" on my coaster credits! SFOT has been my home park since the late 1960's. In fact, I rode it back when it first opened in 1972.
  14. Shouldn't there be a separate thread for Bash reviews?
  15. It used to be The Texas Giant. But since the rehab it's been the smoothest coaster. So, I'll say Rattler at SFFT.
  16. My home park is SFOT. Best coaster is, without a doubt, the New Texas Giant!
  17. I'll put in a good word for the New Texas Giant! Never experienced air like that on any other coaster.
  18. Actually, Titan eats queue lines for breakfast. As long as they're running at least two trains the line on Titan never stops moving. If you plan to come alone why not get there early and join the "running of the bulls". I did that on NTAG's opening day, as a result I was able ride both NTAG and Titan within an hour of park opening.
  19. I suppose there's a grain of truth to that. It's quite smooth and is mostly wood, except the tracks. How about "smoothest steel/wood hybrid" or "among the world's smoothest rides!"
  20. Ride The New Texas Giant! Best possible advice!
  21. "Spinal Realignment"!!!! YIKES!!! But your right , it was pretty rough.
  22. Personally, I wouldn't mind if NTAG were the only coaster to ever recieve this treatment. Right now there's a certain feeling of being special and unique with regards to NTAG. That alone is enough to attract scores of coaster enthusiasts who want a chance to ride the only "Iron Horse" coaster in existance. I love that feeling that there's no other coaster in the world quite like NTAG. But if other coasters started getting this treament then NTAG would be just another face in the crowd- NO THANKS! I say keep NTAG unique and special! But, of course, they probably won't. Other coasters will undoubtedly get the "Iron Horse" upgrade in the years ahead. If they turn out anywhere near as good as NTAG park owners will go crazy for this new type of track. As a result, NTAG will likely be forgotten.
  23. For heaven's sake.......don 't tell them to turn the mist down!! Do you have any idea how good that mist is giong to feel during those scorching hot summer days!!!!! People will get on the ride just for the cool mist in the tunnels!!
