  1. lol, nice photo of the no cameras sign, followed by onride photos. Then again, it's just a monorail kiddie thing. Who gives a crap.
  2. So I just went to look for the photo walkback stuff from Voyage you guys did this spring, but... http://www.themeparkreview.com/photos/holidayworld/holidayworld.htm Where are they? It seems the link is missing.
  3. There aren't any.
  4. You could always check my signature. For Cedar Point, PointBuzz is the best. As far as I know, Dollywood has no unofficial sites.
  5. Photos are now up: http://donald.extremepki.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=57
  6. TR: Paramount's Kings Island Monday, July 24 2006 "What a huge mess!" Well, today was Bring A Friend Free Day, but I needed photos of a bunch of stuff, so I came on down to the park. Getting in proved challenging, because as soon as I walked through the metal detectors, I had a supervisor called on me, because apparently my radio scanner, which has been approved by a security supervisor and cleared by the security staff every time I've been to the park since May, is a contraband item today. To make matters worse, this supervisor had a Holier-Than-Thou attitude, and refused to allow me to go to Guest Relations, so I had to hike all the way out to the back of the parking lot to return the scanner, then wait through the line for security yet again, before finally making it into the park. Ugh. Okay, so now I'm pissed off upon entering the park. Not a good sign. I check the schedule for School of Rock, and then head to Paramount Story for my photo expedition. I took a photo of EVERY MOVIE BRICK in the Paramount Story, as well as all the props and signs and all that stuff, since chances are it will be gone next season. After I finally finished that, I looped around the park, went down to Top Gun's exit and took photos of SOB, then went over to the old King Cobra greeter stand and took some photos of Delirium and SlingShot, got some ice water, and went over to the Paramount Theater for School of Rock. After getting a not-too-bad seat for School of Rock, I watched the show and then headed over into Action Zone briefly, then went over and rode Adventure Express which had a line out to the entrance sign, but was less than twenty minutes, probably about fifteen minutes of wait time. After I rode AE, I took some more photos, and then headed to International Street, where I bought a shirt and hat from Emporium before heading out of the park. Guest Relations still had a line, so I went home and sent a message from the park's website. Crowds today were HORRIBLE, and the entire park staff seemed to be in a bad mood. it reminded me why I never come on Bring A Friend Free Days, hopefully Cedar Fair will dispose of those horrible "perks." Next up.... Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom.
  7. "Should we ride Son of Beast? NO!" 8. Ride List: Vortex Adventure Express Top Gun Congo Falls Face/Off Son of Beast recaR Adventure Express Notes: I figured that having never made it to a Nights of Fire before, I would try it this season. I got there around 3:50, and expecting the park to be totally jammed I figured I'd just be doing a photo run and maybe a Vortex ride. Well, it wasn't bad at all! At 8PM, there had been about 28,000 people in the park total, about 21,000 in the park right at 8PM. Met up with Colin (HOYS) and ???(???) after riding Top Gun. (I suck at names!) The Nights of Fire show was pretty good. I set up my tripod at the front of International Street right in front of the front gate building, and fired off a lot of shots. Got a decent number of photos during the day as well, including Nick Parade and the general stuff for the Star Spangled Celebration event. We watched someone get busted under Son of Beast. Some woman had entered the ride area by jumping a fence from the queue, and was walking around under the transfer track and brake run. A security SUV pulled up, and she was quickly introduced to the back seat of it, then they drove off. After they got her out, they were finally able to dispatch. Unfortunately all the park food places closed right as soon as the fireworks ended, so they missed out on getting money from all the people who had been at a hot park all day. Since it was after 11PM by the time we made it out of the parking lot, we went to the only available food option: Taco Bell. Random IJ shot Parade Start CanobieFan might know these people O RLY? 9. Was Bullet the oddball one with the banked station?
  10. Shake, Rattle and Roll, a HUSS Troika. It's right next to Vortex. http://extremepki.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/april06-troika1.jpg
  11. Oh, I wasn't actually stepping on it. I just held my foot over it to stage the photo. I know, the warning is there so you don't break the fender.
  12. I'm not defiling it at all! I always enjoy my rides on it, and it and FOF tie for my #1 steel. It was just running really brutal today. Makes me wonder if something was wrong with the train I was in.
  13. Text and some more pics. --- Mini TR: Paramount's Kings Island Monday, June 12 2006 "OMG, Beast was better than Vortex today!" Well, it was an interesting day at the park. Met up with Adam, Ariel, Jeff and Gabriel just inside the front gate, and we started around the park. Jeff, Ariel and Gabriel left earler to go watch movies, and Adam and I continued around the park, ending up with rides on most of the major coasters and flats. Ride List: Top Gun Face/Off Son of Beast Adventure Express Flight of Fear Vortex TRTR Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle Son of Beast Drop Zone Vortex Vortex Troika Beast Delirium Delirium Man, Vortex was TERRIBLE. I rode back seat twice. First ride on Vortex was in the back and it was a little rough. Later, rode it in the back when it was getting cooler out and man, that was the worst ride EVER. Worse than SOB, I almost cried. That was TERRIBLE. Got off and rode again in seat 12, where we still got ARROW'D but not quite as bad. I got a 1290 on Scooby, probably due to the fact that my gun was the only correctly working one. Riding SOB a first and then a second time was a serious mistake. RCCA'D. It hurt so bad... FOF was running really well. Ariel and Gabriel rode Skycoaster while we did SOB the second time. Better them than me... I rode it once and it scared the shit out of me, so unless I get seriously talked into it, Skycoaster is probably engraved into my do-not-ride list for a while. Crowds were light, with virtually no lines. This is why I try to stick to Mondays and Tuesdays during daily operation, unless it's an event. Beast ran great at night in seat 12. Glass smooth and no jackhammering, even in the second level of the helix. Tomb Raider still isn't using the separator door between Antechamber and Preshow, so the theming is a little less effective, and there was a wall panel ripped off of the back wall of Preshow. I'll be back at 11 AM Saturday for BeastBuzz. I wasn't originally coming today, but I wanted to get a ride fest in before the long, crowded day of BeastBuzz. I'm liking this minimal lines stuff... Oh shit, snakes on the game!!! OMG 5 bucks?!?
  14. OK, maybe I'll finally give this Photo TR thing a try for an actual park visit... Uh oh, the meat wagon. Someone got pwnt. Non-Riders? Nope, they got on at the last second. INTAMIN'D InuYasha stuff at PKI??? Uhh, no comment. WTF! Festhaus DDR'D Height Check! Can she drive? Yup. Royal Flush going into Great Wolf Lodge. No lines!
  15. They are in fact aluminum, pure non-ferrous aluminum fins. If you want to hear more about the ride tech, I have a video of the Maintenance director speaking about Flight of Fear. http://extremepki.com/videos/beastbuzz_05_fof.zip
  16. SO yeah, I went to Great Clips and then got lunch a little bit ago... "The Greene" again Bigass mall construction Uhh, WTF that's random! yay Mmmm lunch... Mini! Trimmed and Cut and all that
  17. Plus, Phantom's Revenge uses for the most part Arrow brake and sensor mounts. I'm not sure who manufactured PR's magnetic system.
  18. Greezed Lightnin was movded from SFMW to SFKK prior to this season, where they used it to replace worn loop and launch sections on SFKK's GL.
  19. The fishtailing on PKI's works, it takes a while for the springs to break in. The stair effect was killed, because when they tested it, it shattered the fiberglass on the trains.
  20. Any changes on Flight of Fear? And did they ever finish the damn gokarts?
  21. That video was too gay.
  22. BY DAVID HANNERS Pioneer Press Sunday's Valleyfair rollercoaster accident that hurt 15 riders resulted from a malfunctioning mounting bracket on the track, the amusement park said today. The bracket damaged the rear axle of the fifth car in the roller coaster train, causing the sixth car to come uncoupled. Those who were injured were riding in the sixth car, and they suffered sprains and other injuries when the car came to an abrupt stop and tilted on the track. The riders were able to climb out of the car and take a catwalk back to the boarding platform. The incident happened as the train was nearing the platform at the end of its three-minute run. In that section of track, brakes slow the train - which reaches speeds of 74 mph - and then stop it at a platform where riders board and climb out. Valleyfair officials did not say what caused the mounting bracket to malfunction. But the park said it and two local engineering firms "will thoroughly inspect and test all aspects of the ride and will make the appropriate modifications to the ride." Once those changes are made, the ride will be re-inspected and tested before it re-opens, the park said. http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/14665902.htm
  23. They probably know exactly what happened and deemed the other rides safe, probably afer a heavy inspection of the other CF Morgans.
  24. My wallet, phone and scanner go in my shorts/pants pockets. Camera and related things go in my shoulder strap carry bag, which rides everything with me.
