  1. Curious about that support by the train tracks being yellow, the rendering shows it (the start of the climb up the second hill) being gray, with the last yellow support being at the start of the first drop. Hmm, all those are GRAY in the rendering...
  2. BIG crane has arrived, and another support is up. Yup, it's big. Big-ass crane and a new support BIG-ASS crane
  3. August 30 - All Pics: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=339 Splashdown/climb to brake track Lift progress Not as many over here now Lift support staging area Lift structure GIANT lift hill support
  4. Footers are very close to done. Really the only thing left is to finish the footers for the first drop/return run area around the train tracks, which are curing now, and do the footers for the helix over the Beast entrance plaza. Those won't be done until after the park is closed for the season. A lot of the ride will be done by Thanksgiving, with all steel construction finished by the first of the year, per the schedule I've seen.
  5. I meant the incoming crane is taller than the Eiffel Tower. Update from today: August 22: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=335 I'm a bird!!! No wait, it's just from the Eiffel Tower. First section of station track. The turn out of the brake run and the pre-station holding brake.
  6. They're done for this week. Next week they're bringing in the BIG crane for the lift hill. It's going to be taller than the Eiffel Tower, so at least 315 feet tall.
  7. Turn into the station is almost done, and the station track is sitting next to the crane waiting.
  8. \/ Points at sig. \/ I never had any problem with Tomb Raider, but Ghoster Coaster was a painful POS...
  9. It certainly takes up a lot less track length for the brake run, just look at Nitro for an example of a LONG B&M brake run, you could fit four trains on that thing. I'm still not used to how high up and steep it is, but it's a more efficient use of space. Most/all of the huge yellow lift supports are on site now in the staging area behind SOB, so things should be getting very interesting here soon.
  10. Bunch of new photos from today: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=334 Main brake run is now installed, next up looks to be the friction brake section between this and the transfer track.
  11. See here for all photos: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=320
  12. As of today the construction has gone into overdrive. I'm attaching several photos, you can see the rest here: http://www.kiextreme.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=319
  13. Plus, their info came from Dennis Speigel. Dennis Spiegel is an idiot.

  16. Ugh, that cheese... I always scoop handfuls of it off into a trash can before I eat the coney...
  17. Got mine today, looks great, Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I think I'll be able to start it later.
  18. I preordered it. Haven't got it yet, but my local post office is notoriously slow. It took literally 3 weeks for a First Class package to get here from the next town once...
  19. I added 32 photos from 1974 the other day: http://www.kiextreme.com/historyphotos/thumbnails.php?album=42
  20. I'm like 277 or something like that. I submitted like right when it went up, but the email failed and I didn't know it. Re-sent the next day.
  21. The trains are sitting in the boneyard back behind Firehawk. That boneyard is the former storage location of King Cobra, which was moved out of there last winter.
  22. Maybe prefab track could save SOB. Better with the G-trains, but the tracking still sucks. Anyway... it sure looks like prefab track in the photo:
  23. Those slide pieces are from the two-slide complex they bought from Wyandot Lake for $500 at the auction last November. http://www.donaldflint.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=73
