West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
JJ728 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Thanks for the clarification. I tend to avoid Knott's and put in the extra 30-45 minutes to make the drive to SFMM. -
^Was at SFMM last Sunday, and it was dead empty. Tatsu had a 10 to 20 minute wait all day, and by 4:00 Tatsu was walk on, and the only wait for X2 was after the line splits, which topped 10 minutes max. Head to Green Lantern for the first ride of the day, and you will get multiple rides without leaving the station with one car wait max. Superman was the only significant line at 20 minutes. Horrible operations. And the a/c is turned off because it was so cold, so the tunnel smelled revolting. Marathoned Apocalypse seven times until the park closed. Never had to leave the station. Wasn't feeling too hot afterwards...

All things Disney: http://ocattractions.net/disneylandlive/current-attractions-event-info/ Lots of food places and restaurants that are changing this year. Big one is the Matterhorn's huge rehab. It's been down it seems a lot lately. SFMM will have Roaring Rapids and Tidal Wave down for the winter. Whistlestop park is also closed in the off season and will reopen in the spring (if you care about your kiddie credit). Maybe one ride will have one train ops. You'll probably see one train ops at Knott's. Perilous Plunge, Bigfoot Rapids, and the log ride will probably be down for the winter, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Not too familiar with Universal, sorry. -

I feel bad for the people who travel long distances to parks in SoCal. After they put a lot of time and effort in traveling and hotels, etc they run into stupid people here anyway. Just a tough situation all around. -
It's a little late because I forgot to post, but I was at the Mountain Saturday the 19th. They were kind of having a rough day. I think it was way more crowded then they thought it would be (seeing as they only set the hours from 10:30 to 6:00 and there was a pretty imminent chance of rain). As mentioned on here, there was a school club something day, and on top of the parking lot that was full up to Scream, there was about 50 buses parked unloading countless hoards of high school kids. I did my quick lap staying in front of the crowds and chilled on the 'short lined' rides the rest of the day. Scream had a line that went to the bottom of the stairs. A couple things: Superman was down all day. They had the temporary fences and an employee standing in front of the plaza directing people away from the ride. I didn't stop to ask if it was having maintenance problems or if it was down for construction, but I'm assuming it was just broken down or had rain water on the tracks. Ninja was running pretty inconsistent, and finally shut down for good at around 4:00ish. Tatsu and X2 had pretty slow dispatches and were both sporting 2 hour lines. The trees were changing colors and dropping leaves, which looked very pretty. But I don't know what it is with people, just because there are leaves DOES NOT mean you can litter on top of it! A combination of that and the one janitor that I saw all day left the midways needing some help. I also saw something I couldn't believe that day. Viper had a line. And it had a line ALL DAY! Ten minutes minimum! WTF?! But when I took a ride on it, I don't know if the earth shifted its rotation or what, but I had an AMAZING ride! The speed through the first three loops was great, and I was laughing uncontrollably through the double corkscrews. I don't know why, but Saturday, November 19th was Viper's day. Very happy. Surprised! Minimal roughness. [Edit]: The Christmas decorations looked very nice at night. The trees through the main plaza, carols playing through the park, and light up decorations around the waterfall definitely made for a nice atmosphere at the end of the chilly day.

No. Have you ever owned one of those inflatable Christmas lawn decorations?

I agree with you there. As someone who visits 10-15 times a year, the park sure is clean. Operations are improving. Rides getting updated, removed and built. But the rest of the park (IMHO) just looks terrible and dilapidated. I just take the ratio of areas of the park that are "acceptable" and areas of the park that look shabby; that will tell you a lot. The only areas I think are "acceptable" are the Rapids Camp, Six Flags Plaza, DC Universe, Sierra Territory, and Baja Ridge. That leaves about 50-75% that still needs aesthetic improvement. I have to disagree with you there. Gravel under a roller coaster looks simple and clean with no landscaping (ie grass) required. You also don't need to waste resources trimming and watering it. Also, no cardboard cutouts as ride theming at SFMM please!

Pineapple. Bananas or grapes?

Yes. Are you in a room that has a book shelf?

I have an iPhone 4 and just upgraded to iOS 5: Very happy with it, and love the notifications list as well as the easy camera access from the lock screen. I'm happy that they separated music and videos from each other, instead of just having an "iPod app" in the phone. I've already tried syncing via WiFi without the connectors, which is really convienient. Set up iCloud, haven't really experimented with it yet. I didn't realize Siri didn't come with the upgrade, but the simple voice commands aren't too bad either (I never end up using them anyway). All in all, a wonderful free upgrade.

These look so cool! Is the blue sky background actually there, or is it photoshopped in or something? -

I have heard many people over many years say that Tatsu is Ninja. This happens on a consistent basis. It's SO IRRITATING!!! -
So I'm sitting at home, and have a couple minutes that need to be burned. What better way to spend it then browsing through the TPR park index? Of course, I had a look at the SFMM page, and wanted to add a couple of pictures of my own, that were either missing, needed to be updated, or some nice to haves. Even if larrygator doesn't want to use them, you can never have enough coaster porn, and it's nice to look at them here. The new Apocalypse sign. There is just the old temporary "cardboard" in the index. Batman's blue color scheme isn't depicted in the index. Overall shot of the Scream plaza, with the loop. Scream's station!
