  1. Ahh... ya gotta love Florida in the summertime. Thanks for posting these..it's enticing me to try to make a visit there when Samantha and I (hopefully) sail out of the Port of Tampa next June. My biggest concern is that there will be enough for her to do, since even by next summer I doubt she'll meet the height requirements for several coasters (although I will ride Shekira or however it's spelled regardless, because I am the mom and I said so!). Shari
  2. ^^^LOL!!! Good one!
  3. Each update I am just more and more impressed with your pictures, and (while I love pictures of coasters and pictures of people who love coasters....) it is great to see that someone checked out some of the shows. That ski show reminds me very much of the one they did at Sea World of Ohio years ago. That was always a highlight of our trips there. Shari
  4. I am loving your pictures!! I did not realize that KK had the wooden shoes!! Does anyone know if these are the ones from Kings Island from the 70's and 80's?? As for the waterpark pictures...people.... get some sun!! Oh my goodness.... For a group that spends their time at theme parks, I have never seen whiter people! And I loved that Casey's legs nearly went the length of the whole raft!! Seriously, you have the clearest, most professional photos and I can't wait to see more! Shari
  5. Depressed that you all hated our home park......... I blame it all on PARAMOUNT!! Damn them!
  6. Wow!! My innocent little trip report thread is turning ugly. Now I know how it feels to be Robb Alvey!
  7. Fabulous pictures dude!! I was thinking to myself the other day that you seemed pretty serious with your camera. I can see why. You are an excellent photographer. And I loved finally seeing pics of Sammi and I on the Rapids ride with the gang and Elissa's dad! That was one of the best rides of the day. We all just laughed and laughed. Can't wait to see more... Shari (mom of the little coaster girl....)
  8. Ohio Kentucky Indiana Illinois Michigan Pennsylvania West Virginia Tennessee Georgia Florida Texas Missouri Arkansas Kansas New York Wisconsin Virginia Washington, DC Maryland I only answered this to satisfy myself that I have been to more states than the 5 month old. I have 5 more. I am 40. I am depressed. Shari "Kristin leads me in foreign countries, dammit" Shoufler

  10. I seriously need to stop looking at this at work. I just laughed REALLY loud at the "There's your grandpa". The patients looked over, because I am sitting here all by myself. You have a dark gift, Wes.
  11. ^ I have read pretty much that same thing... that they will choose a moderately talented person, who just happens to look good or who has an interesting "backstory", over someone who is very talented but that would be "boring" to the audience. Also, there's a number of talented people who make it through several rounds that you never see in the audition phase because 1) it's more fun to watch the losers and 2) they are talented but not who the producers necessarily want to see make it out of the top 20 or whatever, so by not showing them they can't build a "fan base" Shari
  12. ^ She rode 5 times, but for more cash, she would have stayed there all evening. At one point she asked me if we should go back there just in case anyone was looking for her, LOL!!!
  13. Robb, if Wes had been posting these from the road, think how many people would have been off your case! LOL Wes, I was trying to figure out how you GOT to the hospital, and then I saw the bus out that secretary's window. I just about fell out of my chair laughing. Did anyone get a picture of your bus drivers? Those poor people. They probably had to take this week off for mental health reasons! Shari
  14. Did you SEE all the cornhole going on at Strickers??? Seriously, the ability to play this game is now a requirement if you wish to seek residency in the Greater Cincinnati area. And it's Coney Island. Did you see that river water? If there was a beach there, it would be filled with dead fish, bottles, etc. Ok, well, it would look just like the riverbanks do!! Loved the pics Wes, and I am deeply disturbed, but not surprised, that Terry got the pig credit! Shari
  15. In addition to the coasters, they had the train ride, flying scooters, a scrambler and the Electric Rainbow, which is the old Super Round Up from Americana. (When we saw several members getting their picture taken by the sign, I had to explain to Samantha the symbolism of the rainbow.... hours later, out of the blue "Mom, I still don't get what a rainbow as to do with being gay...."-in addition to being an entrepreuer, she is also very "informed" for 9). They also have a carousel, a few spinning rides that are NOT Elissa approved, and some classic kiddie rides. The park is open through the summer for company and family picnics. They have a huge picnic shelter, an indoor "banquet hall", a putt putt course and some green space which us Cincinnatians use for playing cornhole. (If you don't know, please feel free to ask, rather than let your imagination wander....) Here's a couple pics I took.... One of the spinning rides was this Apple thing. They also had some old classic kids rides, like these boats.
  16. That is a freakin' hillarious video. I cannot believe you all stood there all that time, through that storm. I will never, ever hear the theme from Dallas again and not think of you people!! That was great!! Shari
  17. ^ Yeah, the little money grubber, she wanted to keep his cash! I told her if she was lucky she might make Robb's video. She thought that was BIG TIME cool! Glad you guys had a great time. It was nice to meet you too!
  18. ^And, clearly, my child and I have no pride, so it would have worked out great!
  19. ^^ LOL!! .... the coins went right home and in to the "I'm 9 and on the dance team, send me on a Carnival Cruise, Mommy and Daddy" jar!! Now we only need $992 more dollars. $990 if Jay pays up.....
  20. Agreed.... the captions rock. I aspire to be Chuck-like in my future trip reports. I want to go to Kennywood JUST so I can ride the Kangaroo. I miss that ride so much. That was our family's FAVORITE at LeSourdesville/Americana! Shari
  21. My husband was stapled into our seat, and I was cracking up at that and the fact that this scaredy cat boy (about 12) insisted on riding with Sammi. I was busy turning around laughing at her when we hit that airtime! I looked over at Herb and you could tell that lap bar had just squished his spleen. It was classic! Shari
  22. Great pics.... I am really sorry that I never got the chance to introduce myself. I saw you and your wife from a distance twice at Holiday World (I didn't even realize you were there until dinner at the picnic grove) and at least once on Sunday, but I was never where I could easily say hello, or if I was, I wasn't paying attention! Glad you guys had fun. I think Sam and I were the only ones who didn't get on Raven that day because the one time we got there, we were told it was closed. Shari
  23. Yeah, we were "unofficial" too! LOL. You are welcome. She had a blast. She was still laughing about it last night. And Ted, Sammi actually LOVES that stupid Vortex. I will probably end up having to pay Elissa's chiropractic bill for sending her off to ride that with Sam! Shari
  24. We had the pleasure of having TPR visit our home park yesterday! The pictures say the rest..... Kristen wonders "Will my parents sell ME off like that someday???" Homer was the last to join the fun! Sammi issued an IOU to Jay.... (and believe me, she won't forget...) Laura was so desperate, she paid in coins.... Next it's Joe's turn..... For a $2 investment, Ryan "pounds it" on Little Bill's Taxi Jam kiddie coaster And these look like people with cash.....(and the need for the kiddie coaster credit!) Elissa has just told Samantha that she knows a good way to make a buck or two....
  25. They did!! The ride ops were pretty entertained by the whole thing. In fact, by the time we walked away, I had the one girl convinced she needed to go right home and join the website!! Joe.... I didn't realize you were "ParkTrips"..... you didn't have a name tag thingy! Shari "Still trying to connect real life names to screen names" Shoufler
