RUN HIPPIE RUN!!! Go BJ & Tyler!
disneygurlz2s replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
I am so happy that they moved to the Wednesday, earlier, time. My seven year old was missing it every week, and we love this show! I was sad to see the geeks leave.... Are MoJo just too stupid for words??? As always, I am rooting for the old folks. But my pick to win is BJ and Tyler. Shari "did you see Phil dancing to the Italian band?" Shoufler -

Staying at Breakers Express Cedarpoint questions
disneygurlz2s replied to The Herbster's topic in Ask Alvey
^^ Ha ha ... I think we had some weird service experience there too, the last time we were up there. The breakfast at BE was not anything exciting and if you have to pay for it, you are certainly better to skip it and either bring in your own from the outside world, or wait and have an early lunch at the park after you've hit the first round of big attractions. It is a nice motel and we've stayed there twice... we had 5 in our room, but that was two adults, two teens and a toddler on the floor. Shari -
^^ LOL.... remember having Chuck E Cheese AND Showbiz Pizza Place?? Showbiz bought out Chuck E Cheese, but kept his as the front man 'er...mouse. Guess he made a better spokesman than that Showbiz bear. Shari "Yes, I have spent way too much time there...." Shoufler

^^ I know!! I guess it was to clarify that two gay guys can be friends.... just friends! I just thought it was funny that they felt the need to establish that with us, especially since they bickered like any old married couple! Wally! Hey!!! I'll drop you a message and fill you in!! Shari -

Yeah!! I am sooo glad everybody's watching again, and, having read and article about AR in the paper, I have come to the conclusion that I am the only one, including CBS, Bertram Van Muster, etc... who actually liked the Family Addition. Oh well........ Now, on to the new series... there are so many teams similar to those who have come before.... you have your old folks (like Gretchen and Meredith) your buff African American couple (Uchena and Joyce) and your asshole male (Jonathan, Ray) with nice wife/girlfriend. However, it works for me! Very entertaining show the other night!! Loved the sisters, especially when the one asked the other if she had farted. Ahh..quality tv. No, my WTF moment was when Phil was introducing each team and he emphasized the two gay guys were "just friends". Did it matter to us??? My favs so far are the sisters, the dorks and the hippees. OK... my 2006 pass is the worst pass pic I have had in years. It was windy, I was bloated (sorry, it's a woman thing) and for some reason my mouth appears turned up like Jack Nicholson as the Joker, only with a milk mustache. I am going to ask for a retake when the season starts. Really. Shari "I swear, I don't look this bad" Shoufler

Amen on this subject, although I have to say I cracked just a little bit this past Christmas..... With Sammi being 7 1/2, I was really getting concerned that the whole "Santa" thing might be an issue this year. So, I told her that while I did not like Bratz and would not buy any, if he thought they were OK, she could ask Santa for some. I know, that was lame, but she knows how I feel about Bratz so I thought that was a good plan. Also, I only got the "Baby Bratz" which are slightly less HO-ish..... Well, as it would turn out, she never questioned Santa Claus and doesn't play with the stupid dolls much, either.... go figure Shari "lesson learned" Shoufler

^^ OH... Soren....... you are missing out dude! Now, seriously... Chuck E Cheese is a national franchise place that has a very kid friendly arcade, plus some wannabe audioanimatronic figures that don't quite live up to say, Disney, standards. It's a very popular place for kids birthday parties and most 3-10 year olds around here think it's the greatest place ever!! The only bad thing is you spend $50 and the best prize they can get with their tickets is worth about 50 cents. They do have a nice program where they give kids free tokens for A's and B's on their report cards, so we are actually heading there next weekend since Sammi got her report card. Shari "Oh the money we've spent there" Shoufler

Hey Brown, Is she eight?? I didn't think your post said the age, but others were talking "eight".... I have a almost 8 year old daughter and the Littlest Pet Shops are her world. However, I think your idea is very cool, and actually, I was just explaining our Zoo's ADOPT program to her recently, as we found my certificate for an animal adoption while cleaning out a room at my mom's house. I was in my late teens or early 20's when my siblings adopted our Zoo's flamingos for me. I didn't get a stuffed animal though.... The neat thing is you can take her to the zoo this spring/summer to "visit" her animals! Shari "You are a great Uncle" Shoufler

I am still not sure I would enjoy going 40, 50, 60+ mph outdoors in the winter time, but I sure would like the chance to try. Also seems to but those "steel coasters can't run unless it's ___ degrees out, theory to the test as well, am I right??? Shari "Finally got time to spend on TPR" Shoufler -

Welcome to OHIO!! PKI is less crowded early and late in the season, and I agree that that can sometime be influenced by the weather. I have seen the place packed to the gills on November 1st because the weather was gorgeous and it was Season Pass bring a friend day..... During the summer, both PKI and CP are best avoided on weekends. Mid to late week is usually best and at PKI the crowds can be slim throughout the day due to the high volume of people in Boomerang Bay (the water park area). Shari

Smurf's Enchanted Voyage
disneygurlz2s replied to coaster_maniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I will look for my pictures, although, I think I have more from the original theme, which was the Happy Land of Hanna Barbera. However, I do have a random story to share about the Smurf ride days, if I may share it..... I live in Cincy, and grew up going to the park. In my late teens, there were lots of great concerts in the ampitheater (Timberwolf) and one of them was Cyndi Lauper. This is right when she was at her most popular and myself and two girlfriends got dressed in our 80's Cyndi attire and headed to the park. The show was at about 8, so we had plenty of time that afternoon to ride the rides. We decided to go on the Smurf ride. I was dressed pretty funky, with double layers of neon colored anklets and white pumps on my feet. These were attracting a bit of attention so as I was walking across the exit bridge as we were coming off the ride, I made a comment about my socks and shoes attracting attention, and kicked my foot up just a bit. Well, I have kinda wide feet, so my shoes are always a bit loose, and especially with these nylon neon socks. As I kicked my foot up, my shoe flew off my foot, over the rail and landed within inches of the water/boats. An employee saw this and went across to retrieve my shoe. I met him at the end of the exit ramp, but he refused to give me my shoe. Instead, he walks me out in front of the ride where they have a bench with stone Smurf and Smurfette statues. He made me sit down, and he got down on one knee and put my shoe back on my foot, Prince Charming style!!! I handed my camera to my friend, so she could take a picture, but she was so busy laughing that she took the picture backwards.... all I got was a big blob of her face!!! Sorry to ramble, but this made me laugh because I hadn't thought about the ride ("La, la, lalala la.....") for a while!! Shari "Cynderella" Shoufler -

Paramount parks up for sale.
disneygurlz2s replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry it's taken me a few days to report back on this....but, to be honest, I haven't anything to report. The Cash Control gang at PKI were no more "in the know" than the GP when we were together Friday night. It does sound as if they are looking to sell the entire Paramount Parks division, as in all 5 parks together, not split them up. If I hear anymore, I will be sure to post it here! Shari "not much help after all" Shoufler -
