Was at the park this past Friday. WW is looking great! Though it may look massive and cramped in this location it fits perfectly. One of the supports are situated in the pathway used to walk from the parking lot to the entrance and WW will definitely swing over it. The should be awesome for both riders and guests walking towards the entrance.

So am I to believe, lookng at diferent videos on youtube, that Sol Spin only spins one direction while Eletro Spin at Carowinds and Shockwave at CW goes forwards and backwards?

I was there this past Friday.

They've updated Boo Blasters at Carowinds. All the targets are working and the animatronics I didn't know moved are now moving and responding when their targets are hit.

Banshee?? That is one of the most drawn out coasters I've ever ridden. It's a nice ride and all but to Afterburn I guess because it's compact in a way give s more intense ride with swift transitions.

So are you guys confirming that a flourless conversion to the vortex at Carowinds would be ok considering the layouts are almost similar? I think Carowinds' version is shorter tho.

It's raining and Intimidator and Hurler trims are still off. The coaster gods are smiling down on me today!

Maybe it's the perfectionist in me to have things done and perfect at a set date. I gave the benefit of the doubt that everything would be perfect by mid season and I was slammed down by a poster who thought all the rides should be working fine with no issues and the mere fact that these are fair rides that fair put up in a week and here they had four months. I was just giving my review on what the area looks like and what the night entailed. I'm very happy to have these rides at Carowinds as they're much needed. I just happen to be more on the visually pleasing aspect of things as well. To me the area should be damn close to what Gemini's Midway looks at CP. Who am I tho.

I'm so underwhelmed with the area tbh. I'm happy Carowinds got some much needed rides but the atmosphere is just blah. It's like the area has been there for years. The troika went down about 3 times, Cobra went down once, Rock N Roller went down once then closed for good around 8, Electro spin was down the whole night but testing. I was told it should be up and running no later then next weekend. The string lights overhead looks like the were just thrown up randomly on black poles, no light package on the troika, white [coastertube][/coastertube]lights on the musik express uh who does that and you could barely hear the music; nice theming tho. Electro Spin's paint job is ugly and no lights are on it as well. Not a ton of lights on the buildings as you would see at a county fair. It looks more like Christmas time than a county fair with all the white lighting. Zephyr is beautiful. Just wish the white lights blinked or chase. Hopefully they will tighten up the area over the next few weeks. The pavers and the textured concrete are nice. Drop Zone's paint job looks great. Panda Express' new location is very nice and they have expanded the menu. Harmony Hall's grill section replaced the chicken sandwich with extra long hotdogs which are so good OMG. The burrito cafe food looks great, I'll try them sooner or later. Metal detectors are here to stay as the have built new and ugly might I add permanent huts with new sophisticated walk through detectors. FURY IS RUNNING GREAT!

They must be going for the record of having the most swing rides in a park. This will make number 4. Dont get your hopes up buddy. The lights on the wave swinger are steady LED white lights as you can see. No blinking here. The troika doesn't have a light package except for the original lighting, which are the red brake lights on the back of each car. The top scan came with LED panels for the boom section. Knowing Carowinds they most likely wont use them and will just stick with the LED lights on the back of the seats. The musik express has a decent package but no where near a carny "gaudy" type package. Then again I'm keeping my hopes up that light packages may not be there for opening day but added later after the week of spring break operations.

Drove past not to long ago. Looks like most of the rides are testing. Afterburn Timmy, Nighthawk, Fury, Windseeker, Drop zone, Gold Rusher, and the Skytower were all cycling. I almost ran off the road. lol

There is no breakdance at this park. Or yet at least.

I like that each car is personalized and have their own name. Chuck, Flip and Sam are my favorites already.

So Carowinds is now offering a new add-on for season pass holders. the All Season Fast Lane Plus pass now available for $125 Also you can have a choice of an all season free refill souvenir cup or what I'm guessing to be wrist bands for the all season free refill "drink" plan. Both are 29.99

Lets see the troika....just take a scrambler or sizzler ride and hoist the cars in the air and a top scan I cant even describe the level of being out of control. If you have motion sickness the top scan will NOT be your friend.

Haha. Looks like the majority of the shows were just renamed; however, The Roots Bluegrass, Carolina Beach Bash and The Rainmaker are new shows. I've heard that The Rainmaker is an old show that was at Carowinds in the early 90s. I guess it has something to do with water interaction with guests as most say it was great show for summer days.

Yea the difference is Thunder Road had other issues that warranted its demise. Appearently Hurler doesn't. They didn't just tear down Thunder Road just because. Hurler gets much love even when Thunder Road was in the picture. It's not going anywhere not getting converted. The only conversion Carowinds will possibly get is Vortex IMO.
