Anyone on here like anime or manga?
Dainty Aqua replied to iluvalbinos's topic in Random, Random, Random
I am also a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki's anime. My faves are Spirited Away, My Neighbour's Totoro, Princess Mononoke etc. As for manga, well I like girlie stuffs like Hana Youri Dango. -
No, nor any other prisons anywhere else for that matter! Have you ever eaten a durian before?

Things you liked that are no longer around!
Dainty Aqua replied to Kroger8's topic in Random, Random, Random
1) bubble gums (they are banned in my country) 2) milk shakes at MacDonald's (they were taken out while I was growing up. What the heck!) 3) strawberry cheesecake at KFC (again, they were taken out while I was growing up, for reasons I cannot even comprehend) -
If you & your frens intend to get really spooked out, then The Ring (both 1 & 2, in original Japanese version) will do the tricks. I think Ju-On (both 1 & 2, also in original Japanese version) is pretty scary too. Disclaimer: This is not to say though that the US remake versions sucks, just that I prefer the original Japanese versions as they really freaked me out! I can still recalled after I watched The Ring (in either 1988 or 1989) , I got so spooked out, I was half wondering if I was going to die after 7 days! Anyway, for all horror fans out there, I like to recommend this movie. Its a Thai movie (not sure if you can get Thai movies at your end?) The title is Shutter. I personally think this movie is scary. I had goosebumps thru out the entire movie! And the movie had an unexpected ending (much like sixth sense) that will guarantee to freak you out. Aqua

I watched Wicker Park on DVD recently. Not your typical love story but one with a slight twist. While I felt sorry for the 2 main leads (Josh Harnett & Diane Kruger) for the 2 yrs they have lost due to some manipulating/scheming by another woman (Rose Byrne), I also felt sorry for this other woman. Sometimes in love, there's no absolute right or wrong. This is not to say what she did wasnt horrid but as the script goes: love makes ppl do crazy things. :?

Most of the time, its medium-sized popcorn (for 2 ppl) + a large soda drink. On some occasions, I also enjoy having nacho wth cheese to go with my soda drink! Yeah I know, lotsa carbo  but they taste good. Ha ha.
-
Well, this does not exactly belong to e soda category but i supposed will fit into this topic anyway since it was mentioned soda, tea & ANYTHING except beer. So, I am also a BIG fan of those ice-blended coffee drinks at Coffee Beans & Starbucks etc.

Mine will be: Regular Vanilla Coke Diet Coke A&W Root Beer Any brand of Grape or Apple Soda I like those Snapple drinks as well. And I drink Green Tea all the time too.

Currently listening to one of my all-times fave song: Always by Bon Jovi. I know its an old song but then, there's sth abt this particular song that always (no pun intended) bowls me over.

My interest in theme parks & roller coasters started at age 9 (whoa that's 20 yrs back!!!) when my family & i went to US on a holiday package tour. One of the attractions incl Disneyland where you became the happinest person on earth. LOL. Anyway, I could still vaguely remember my first ride ever on Space Mountain.

So yeah... if anyone knows of any other country or states that banned gums or other insane stuffs, pray tell. I can then take some comforts in being deprived of small pleasures in life.

I am not really picky abt food. I can eat almost everything, fave being pasta dishes & sushi! I like spices in my food. I have not touched beef in yrs though & this is due to my religion (I am a Buddhist). Other food that i dislike/avoid incl: onions, capsicum, celery (I like most other veg though). Aqua.

Ever had a black out on a coaster?
Dainty Aqua replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have never experience black or grey out to date but then again, since I dont have that many ride experiences compared with most of you on this board, I am probably not in a position to comment. But I will get nausea if i got on those flat rides that spun round & round & round ALOT! I will usually come out with wobbly legs & the horrible impulse to puke. :? -
Given my rather limited ride experiences, I was a nervous wreck waiting in line for Fujiyama at Fujikyu Highlands, Japan for the very first time. I was breaking out in cold sweats/ sweaty palms, you get the drift. Anyway, prior to this, I have not been to any major theme parks (with the exception of Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland/Sea & Universal Studio Japan but then again, they din exactly have these types of towering rides). And Fujiyama looks really intimidating from where I was queuing. It din helped either that I saw it used to hold the records in 1997 for being the tallest/fastest/steepest coaster then. I could still remember my first time on Fujiyama, the lift hill before the first plunge was really slow in an almost painful way & i was literally praying for my dear life (LOL). Now I am pretty immuned to this ride. I also jumped on Dodonpa when it first opened quite gamely. I heard abt TTD & Kingda Ka here on the board & though reviews arent that great, I would still love to try both rides myself when I visit US next yr. Besides Fujiyama, my 2nd most nervous moments was waiting at the top of Blue Max at Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Yokohama, for it to drop (freefall). That sorta scared that crap out of me becos of the imposing height again.

Right now, I am so in love with Tokyo. I just love this great city that's bursting with life & lights! In addition, Japan is known to have one of the lowest crime rates in the world. I once walked round this part of Tokyo, Ikebukuro at ard 3-4am in the morning by myself & I felt pretty safe in my environment. I also love Gold Coast & Cairns in Australia. Sunny beaches + theme parks in Gold Coast & of course, needless to mention, the awesome Great Barrier Reefs in Cairns! I love to snorkel & the experience there is just soooo amazing! On places I most wanted to visit, definitely Europe! I wanted so much to see Paris, Italy, Switzerland, Rome, Spain etc. I also wanted to visit Hokkaido In Japan. And Egypt & South Africa toooo... Well, if given a chance, I want to visit all the 7 wonders of the world. Ha ha.

My apologies if this is kinda random (not sure if i shd post this here or over at the rant thread instead). Anyway, for those of you who have no idea, Singapore had banned all types of gums here since many yrs back!!! No CRAP! They used to be legal/allowed here but they were banned becos apparently ppl are littering the streets w gums all over the places. And Singapore being a green green city & a "fine" country (fine becos my country likes to impose fines at e tiniest & most trivial offenses), decide to do away with chewing/bubble gums totally & permanently! Give me some chewing gums!

Calcajun: Well, I listen to foreign songs myself all the time too. I personally feel music is universal & hence it shd crossed e boundaries/barriers of languages. Just my opinion. Anyway, my fave music genre are mainstream pop, retro oldies, R&B & rock! Mind Eraser: I do have the remix version of this song though I am not entirely sure if that is the Valentin mix? I regret I am not too crazy over trance music though. :?

Yeah! I finally found the song title from the movie, Chicken Little. Its: Dragostea Din Tei by O'zone. I am listening to this song right now and even though I dont understand a single word of it, the song rocks! Thought I just share the lyrics here for anyone interested too.

And just to add, I am really looking fwd to watching Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire, The Chonicles Of Narnia. These 2 movies will be shown in my homeland soon (either this month or next). YEAH! Cant wait.

Hey, I caught the preview for Chicken Little recently too & was particularly intrigued by a very catchy song number in it. Its a foreign song (I think its French) & there's one part that goes: numa numa yeah or sth like that. Any kind souls know what's this title? Thanks in advance! Anyway, back to this topic, me being a movie fanatic, watched quite a few movies lately. The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (freaky!), Doom & Sky High. I really enjoy watching Sky High though, its light-hearted & fun to watch.

That's cool! Well then, I will use the shocker sign sometime myself & post the picture here. LOL
