Hmm--I can't imagine riding any coaster backwards for 13 hours straight. As for Bugs and Foghorn, well, that wascally wabbit does spend an awful lot of time in drag.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
cfc replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only real bummer portion of Air, to me, is that section where you're lying on your back--you can really feel the train shake and it's very uncomfortable. At least it's followed by the flip and dive through the tunnel (the best part). From the front or back, Air is pretty good, but from the middle not so hot--just my opinion, folks. -
Disney Characters gone wild?
cfc replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OK, kids--please remember that it's not OK for you to try for any "Minnie credits" unless you're wearing a Goofy suit. -
Nah, not personally. But you never know when Angus might become McNasty! (He's been pretty mellow that last few months, though.)

^^I wonder how much they paid Strong Bad to come up with it.

"Hmm--if only this stuff would make me pass out like Derek . . ."

This had crossed my mind, too, but the article didn't state how this phrase was going to be used. Look for bars near military bases to start advertising that their drinks are "Army strong," though. Louise, I'm very much interested in your British linguist's take on this. Here's a chance to practice your discipline while posting on TPR. (You could call it "research.") Chuck

I read on AOL News today that the U.S. Army is dropping their old "Be an Army of one" campaign in favor of this: "Army strong." Hmm--being as they have lowered physical and educational standards to boost enlistment, it makes sense that they've jettisoned good grammar, as well. Perhaps they can use the Incredible Hulk in their ads: "Army strong! Army mad! Army smash!" Why not revive an older slogan using "IM speak": "b all u cn b n the r me," perhaps? A friend of mine suggested that, evenutally, their slogan will simply be "Army." Any thoughts on this?

It was sooo good! Ill bring you one on Saturday! Make sure it's a Bavarian-creme or rasberry-jelly donut chicken sandwich.

Hmm--is this a paid endorsement, Ms. Alvey?

Jahan's Super Sweet October Trip-Trip Report!

A scarecrow dude at BGE's Howl-o-Scream chewed me out for taking a flash picture of him outisde the queue for Sleepless Hollow Manor. Some of those ghouls can be a bit testy, but, hey, he wasn't inside a maze, so he was fair game, as far as I was concerned. Thanks for the pics. -
Photo TR: Dave & Mary Visit The MD State Fair
cfc replied to Meteornotes's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Funny stuff, Dave. I was thinking of hitting the Va. State Fair this weekend, but the weather sucks. If you want to see plenty of "mutants," you might want to check out the Stanislaus County Fair if you should ever find yourself in Turlock, California, in August. Yes, I grew up in Stanislaus County, and a quick visit to the fair will probably give you a few hints about why I left. -
^^Hmm--looks like something I once saw piled up in the woods.

Saved By The Bell's Screech - Now doing PORN!!!
cfc replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well, it couldn't be much worse than an average episode of Saved by the Bell. At least Bob "Gilligan" Denver and Alan "Skipper" Hale never made a porno flick together. -

Ex-x-x-cellent! Definitely looks like it puts the 'Burg's version to shame! And what are these mysterious feelings of deja vu I get whenever I see pictures of Cheetah Chase . . . A mere 12 days and I'll be in the midst of Halloween, er, paradise (?) in Florida--woo hoo! Looking forward to getting those BGA credits at last (well, I already have one, at least). Chuck -
The Little Mermaid ride that almost was (pics!)
cfc replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That is a shame that Disney didn't build this ride--perhaps all the development money was diverted to Superstar Limo. -
Young Master Derek takes some quiet time to ponder his place in the universe.

cfc replied to DerekRx's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Maybe I am thinking of Scotland and haggis, but the bacon, lamb, and cabbage stew served in Ireland isn't much better! Not without like 9 shots of Bailey's first! Aye--Bailey's and Guinness can help you stomach anything. I actually tried a bit of haggis in Scotland a few years ago--tasted like particularly salty corned beef hash. By the way, Happy Birthday, Derek. I know it isn't the "official" b'day thread, but what the hell. -
^I think it's the new emoticom for Derek at Octoberfest. "Man, after a few of those Bavarian brews I went XD." This would mean "passed out and drooling": XD~ .

Are ye sure it wasn't Scotland and haggis ye were raggin' on, laddie? Yep--I'm looking forward to checking this out in a few weeks (along with HHN). Good to see Norman Bates is back in action. -
"A Computer Program Package for Multipole Refinement, Topological Analysis of Charge Densities and Evaluation of Intermolecular Energies from Experimental and Theoretical Structure Factors"? I would think that was obvious. I have no idea what this means, but it did come up on a quick google of "XD" (which was also the type of memory card my old Fuji Finepix camera uses).

Balder's trains are very comfortable--single seating beats the hell out bench seats with butt-vise seat dividers. El Toro's look the same, -
Sure, I look goofy--but at least I haven't passed out! Right?

Haven't read it yet, but I want to. You might want to seek out his autobiography, too (title escapes me at the moment, but it has something to do with his chin).
