Photo TR: Epcot Food and Wine Sneak Preview Night! 9/28/06
cfc replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Loverbore? Bah! Pooey! Now if Blue Osyter Cult or the Tubes were performing . . . Thanks for the sneak peek--I'm looking forward to eating myself around World Showcase in October. -
^Igor say t'anks. Igor's favorite part chaining cfc to water heater--heh, heh, heh!
-
^Yep--there are "haunts" that are scarier than BGE's Howl-o-Scream. but do they come with Busch Gardens? HoS is part of your regular admission (or season pass)--no extra ticket required. This sets the bar a bit lower than, say, HHN at Universal or Knott's Scary Farm. ^^Looking forward to seeing some of the UK crew, and meeting some other folks, myself, Ryan.

Robb helps demonstrate the Bush administration's latest interrogation techniques. Hey, if it's good enough for Darth Vader . . .
-
Just realized that I never answered your question. They use the ride queue, appropriately enough, as the queue for the maze, which is located on the lower level of the Pompeii ride building. It's pretty extensive, too--longest maze at HoS, with the most elaborate effects. The Escape from Pompeii ride runs during the day (no Halloween enhancements), but closes early (around 5:00 pm).

Good stuff--you sure gave your camera a workout. I'll be hitting BGA for the first time myself next month.

^And thanks for bumping up this thread, Molly--it was sinking fast!

Motorcycle Chase (later Wacky Soapbox Racers) (KBF) 7. Roaring 20s Corkscrew (KBF) 8. Turn of the Century (now Demon) (PGA) 9. Tidal Wave (PGA) That's all I can think of for now. -

^It's a lot of fun, Soren. Haven't been in six or seven years myself, so I'm really looking forward to checking it out and meeting some more TPRites (and to finally riding Revenge of the Mummy). Chuck -

Friday is the best day to visit BGE in the fall. I was there last Friday checking out Howl-o-Scream stuff and walked right on to DarKastle, too. -
Simpsons rip on COASTER ENTHUSAISTS!!! LMAO!!!!
cfc replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Bart and Skinner's "Sith-like" duel (complete with music) was pretty funny, too, but the night belonged to the "Zoominator." -

Thanks for the update, Erik. I'm really looking forward to HHN this year (I haven't been in six or seven years). HoS at BGA looks pretty cool, too (much bigger than the 'Burg's version). Chuck -
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW BGE) Discussion Thread
cfc replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here are two not-so-hot pictures I took at Howl-o-Scream last Friday night (Sept. 22). . . . and pouring a lot of concrete (pic taken from Nessie's exit). Well, they've definitely been piling up more construction-related stuff . . . -
Actually, I do have two pins for you--one looks like a German coat of arms and says "Busch Gardens," while the other has what looks like a piece of coaster track. (Those were $1.99 each.) I couldn't find any ride-specific pins, except for the Haunted Lighthouse (why, I have no idea) and DarKastle (but it's the size of a baseball card). There is a lapel pin with the BGE t-shirt logo that lights up (it's $5.00 if you're interested). Be sure to PM your address to me it you want 'em. Chuck

Here's some more Howl-o-Scream pics to look at while I run that pesky Igor to ground. You bet your life he is! Hey, Jack, have you heard what that Igor guy has been saying about you? So, is Jack really back? I'm a sweet, adorable living statue! Gimme some handy wipes to clean off the bird crap! The lawyers made them put up that sign. Why, it's perfectly safe to enter! At night, Escape from Pompeii becomes acursed. The Wolfman gets in touch with his bad self. . . . I Scream! Good evening, ladies. Care to join me for some . . . Hey, pal--gotta light? Chortle, chortle, guffaw! I'm a big, bad evil clown! Gimme some rubber chickens!

'Allo, This is Igor! Some of you may know 'bout me, if you saw Son of or Ghost of Frankenstein. Yeah, that Igor! The guy wit' the broken neck that look like a cinnamon twist! Had good gig workin' for Frankenstein, and his son Wolf. Yes, breakin' into graveyards, diggin' up corpses, lookin' for just the right eyeball or arm or brain (well, ya can't win'em all)--ah, those good days for Igor! Transylvania nice place! Vell, Igor semi-retired these days. Got plenty time to check out Howl-o-Scream while visit Williamsburg. Even talk that sad-and-pathetic cfc guy into letting me post TR usin' his pictures! Nice guy, that Chuck. Give me password after I promise to unchain him from waterheater in crawlspace. (He dumber than vampire who work on suntan--heh, heh, heh! Igor make little funny.) So, this Howl-o-Scream t'ing--good clean fun wit' werewolves, body parts, bones, sour-smelling grave dirt, fog. Just like home to Igor. Here is what we call the dirt from the tomb where I come from. Got four mazes there. Rate from 1 (Bah! Pooey!) to 10 (even Igor scairt). Last Laugh Industries--Bah! What so scary 'bout clowns? Igor t'ink clonws very funny! 'Specially when they dismember bodies and stuff live ones into body bags. What you say, cut ups! Very educational, though--tour of actual clown factory. You know that rubber chickens made from real, dead chickens? You know now. Igor miss "Barfo" the clown used to be there. His puking noise always make Igor laugh! Rate it, ah, 7. Curse of Pompeii--Boy, poor Pompeii peoples got it rough! By day, they get kilt by volcano and earthquake just to amuse tourists. Then by night, they got curse! Talk about drawing short straw. Igor like wander 'round old dig full of mummies and spiders and ghouls (oh my). Make me miss Christmas back in Transylvania. This maze been at Busch long time, but still got what takes for Igor. Give it an 8. Sleepless Hollow Manor--Igor usually not go to formal 'fairs--hard to get tux to fit over hump--but they t'row good party at Van Tassel house. Lots of good rotten food, crazy house servants, guests (well, parts of guests) swingin' from rafters. Have good time there! Headless Horseman guest of honor, you know. Igor even scare someone by putting lamp shade on head--or were they scairt when took lamp shade off? Party gettin' little stale now, though. Been goin' on too long, I t'ink. Maybe time for something else in old Drachen Fire station. Give it 7.5. Wicked Woods--Ah, this more like it, sez Igor! Everything that make England great here, like Jack the Ripper (I remember when he was little kid runnin' 'round with scissors), body snatchers (same union as Igor), big London fire with crazed burned people (remind Igor of ribs at Smokehouse), and weird Druid guys in robes. Lots strobe lights and fog! Lots loud noises to freak out teenage girls and guys! Good clean fun for whole family, Igor thinks. Give it 9. There's this Jack's Halloween Express train ride, too. Bah! Igor miss old Transylvania Express ride. Tour guide that irritatin' pumpkin head guy, Jack--Igor t'ink they scoop out brain 'long with pumpkin guts, then forget to put in candle. Wait till dark before ride this one. Just get a 6 from Igor, though. Oops! Some noise from crawlspace! Chuck loose, I think, and not too happy with Igor! Well, bah! Ingrate! Let him post pictures, then! Igor say, Good bye! . . . and this poor person went all to pieces while waiting. More pics to come. Hmm--looks like Jack's Nightmare Express is running a little late . . . . . . and by night. (Rest in Pieces, Drachen Fire.) Sleepless Hollow Manor by day . . . Boy, you don't want to walk under these birds while wearing your good clothes. Hmm--not sure what's going on here, but this sign does seem to echo the current administration's foreign policy (not to mention poor grammar). Yes, I'm in the market for a slightly used casket. I need it modified to fit a man with a twisted neck and a hump, though. Hey, gravediggers! After you're finished with the "Monster Stomp" show, maybe you can help track down some guy named Igor--and bury him! Yep, Busch paid for fog machines and, by God, they're gonna use 'em! "Trick or Treat!/I'm a mutt!/Turn around!/I'll sniff your butt!" Saw this on a greeting card recently. Good hygeine is important, even if you're a fleshless skeleton. But why are they dressed like refugees from an eighties' rock video? Sheesh, now there's a corpse with a serious attitude problem. Argh, I be a nasty pyrate skeleton! gimme some doubloons! First, a little Hurricane Isabel humor. She visitied Howl-o-Scream a few years back, and did cause a bit of trouble.

Photo TR: Julie and Kevin invade SoCal!
cfc replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hi, Julie--I was tooling around DL and DCA with my parents back in August and had a great time. And while I agree with Robb that WDW is a better resort, I think the original Disneyland is a better park than the Magic Kingdom. Although I like MK quite a bit, the cozier atmosphere of Disney's original park is more appealing. -
Yes, it was fun at Busch that night--perhaps more fun than you might realize, as shown by the first pic below. As for me and Hummel Boy, we're just "good friends." Yes, Hummel Boy was getting himself some action that night.
-
^^He need's "Brian's" what? EDIT: I see that you've since corrected the spelling of "brains"--good lad. Here's my contribution: Ackk! I think I just swallowed a bird!

Sigh! so much for my dream that Tobe Hooper will ever make "The Arkansas Toaster Massacre."
-
Perhaps Robb's paying homage to the Tobe Hooper's obscure first-draft of his infamous cult classic--"The Arkansas Toaster Massacre." "Tobe, baby, we love the script--but can you move it to Texas and make it chainsaws? We just got a sweet product-placement deal from Black & Decker and the Texas construction industry."
-
Do they really need encouragement to do that? Happy freakin' Birthday, gents!
