  1. ^He's J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-man flicks, too.
  2. ^OK, this is officially the most disturbing Barry post ever.
  3. I thought it was "X2--Afterburn."
  4. I was a little disappointed in Colossus, frankly. When I rode it a few years ago, it seemed a bit rough, and I really felt it could do with a few less inversions. But a lot of people in our group loved it.
  5. From her description of the doctor's attire, I'm thinking park guest who happened to be a pediatrician.
  6. ^I would vote for the Dolphins; hell, every other team in the league had a better-than-even chance of beating them.
  7. Aw, don't cry, Louise. Your TR did mange to "e-stop" my computer when it ran out of "virtual memory." Do you still want some of my Japan photos? I haven't heard back from since our initial message exchange a while back.
  8. ^I thought the Chargers owned the Colts.
  9. ^I think Dominator is on the opposite end of the park from Hypersuckit.
  10. I'm sure Tom Brady's available.
  11. ^They had some sort of complicated computer program that helped them determine the best place to cut those holes. Shane, Jay Thomas is SFMM's "president," as I recall.
  12. I used to feel the same way as you did about Mickey's party, Eric, until I checked it out with the group back in '06--it really is a lot of fun. (How often do you have a five-minute wait for Space Mountain?) It was good to see the Haunted Mansion fresh off its refurb, too.
  13. Adventure Island is worth checking out--especially if you have a Busch platinum pass (or a two-park ticket for it and BGA). It has a good selection of slides (including body slides, which we don't have at Water Country in Wiliamsburg anymore) and nice atmosphere.
  14. After Oakwood's Speed, I'm all in favor of more Eurofighters--it was a fun ride.
  15. Here in Williamsburg, BGA in Tampa was consistently bad mouthed by locals for years (for example, it's dirty, the staff is rude, it's in a crappy neighborhood). It always came off as a very distant second to Euroburg (local 'Burg pride, no doubt, played a role here). But when I finally visited the park for the first time two years ago, I didn't encounter any of those complaints (well, crappy neighborhood aside), and other 'Burg residents have even admitted that they now like BGA (maybe not as much as Euroburg, but they admit that they had a good time in Tampa).
  16. ^^I know what you mean. My top ten was fairly clear, as was the bottom ten. All the stuff in middle tends (past, say, number 25) to run together.
  17. "I've been standing in line to ride Frank all day" "Frank looks too intense for me."
  18. I'm just going to call it "Frank."
  19. I love the diasppointed blogger who dislikes the color of the trains and is upset that they aren't using "jet plane paint."
  20. Phew! That took a while. Ted, once again, thanks for the help on CoasterFanatics. My top for 2007: The Phantom's Revenge (it just made the greatest impression on me--the most pleasant surprise of the year). My bottom for 2007: Great American Scream Machine (not a surprise at all). It was really tough to rank the coasters in the middle.
  21. Flight Deck: The Inverted Coaster would have been the most obvious, and best possible name. They could retheme the ride to a high-school English class and call it "Dangling Participle: The Ride."
  22. Aw, and I was hoping they'd use the name "Inverted Coaster"--so precise, so succinct.
  23. Three words come to mind: illegal, stupid, and dangerous.
  24. It was a great day at SFMM--and it looks like the park is upping the ante a bit for West Coast Bash. I was pretty impressed with the changes they're making there. Thanks for the update, Robb.
  25. "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decree . . ." This was a trip down memory lane for me, Jahan. I've driven by the James Dean Memorial many, many times on my way back to Cal Poly. And I've spent some time hanging out at Morro Bay Rock, too. Next time you're up that way, check out a Monsterburger at Frank's Famous Hotdogs. I think it's still in business on Monterey Street in San Luis Obispo.
