^Hmm--I don't recommend two teenagers sleeping in their car around Orlando. Not a wise move at all, as crime has been on the rise in central Florida. Your best bet might be a tent and a campground--or, better yet, bringing a responsible adult with you. Do you have relatives in the area who might put you up?

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
cfc replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
http://www.screamscape.com/html/busch_gardens_williamsburg.htm I pray they do not remove BBW. I'm taking this with a big grain of salt until I see more evidence (as is Screamscape). I find it difficult to believe that BGW will be getting a new "country" until InBev sells off the parks. (A flyer swooping over the Rhine River would be pretty cool, though.) All we can do is wait and see. -

I scored a mere 12/20--ergo, I have something resembling a "life." Well, sort of. -

So, this was thread was basically nine pages' worth of useless hand wringing? You now have permission to get on with your lives. -

^Awesome. -
^I actually asked about the scooter rental stuff when I was at the park yesterday. According to the CM working there, they used to refund $10 at the end of the day, but stopped doing so a few years ago (the last time my parents were there). The Days Inn you booked should be OK--and it isn't far from Pirates Cove Adventure Golf. You're not far from the Richmond Road touristy stuff, either (a short drive to the restaurants and the Ripley's Museum, if you're so inclined).

^You can get the $15-off deal by buying your tickets through KD's Web site, too--if you buy them three days in advance. You can print the tickets at home and avoid waiting at the ticket booth. It's a bit cheaper to buy your BGE tickets online, as well. As for your other questions: 1. BGW--a much nicer park. KD does have a greater number of coasters, but it is a matter of quality over quantity. KD also has a water park onsite that doesn't require a separate admission (if you're into water slides). 2. No comment. 3. I think so--Williamsburg is a nicer area to visit in general, and BGW is a nicer park than KD (although I've had fun at both). 4. Sunday--summer Saturdays tend to be a bit "zooey." 5. If you go on Sunday, I doubt you'll need it. I'd spend the money on Saturday, though. Have a great time!

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
cfc replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Well, this is sort of what BGW did with Curse of DarKastle--turned the pre-show into just another part of the queue. -
Busch Gardens reopened the single-rider line for Apollo's Chariot this year (I used it two weeks ago). But they did make a "big deal" of "closing" it two years ago. You can also purchase Quick Queue passes at Busch.

^^My parents have rented scooters at BGW, and I recall that you do get some of that $45 back as a "deposit," but I might be misremembering this. You could push her around without too much trouble, except for the stretch between France and Ireland (where the wolves and other animals are kept)--that would be the worst part (down one end and up the other). The trip down to the Rhine River from Germany would be a bit tricky, as well, if you want to ride the boats--a fairly steep hill with some steps at the bottom. There's a Pirates Cove Adventure Golf on the Rt. 60 Bypass (across from K mart on one side and Hooters on the other). If you want easy access to restaurants, I'd stay in the tourist corridor on Richmond Road, aka Rt. 60. There's the usual assortment of chain restaurants and fast food, such as Chili's, Carrabbas's, and Five Guys, and lots of hotels. Something else--the ride with the trickiest handicapped access is the Loch Ness Monster. In the past, you had to enter via the exit, which is at the bottom of short, steep hill. Then you deal with some switchbacks, not to mention other guests exiting the ride.

When in doubt, blame mischievous leprechauns. -
Thank you for your enthusiasm and posting your thoughts to Theme Park Review. Please do us all a favor and read the following thread before you post again. This information could greatly improve your posting quality: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 I agree that short paragraphs are your friend, but let's not turn this into a referendum on posting style. I visited the park last year and also thought it was "nice"--but way too expensive for what it was. It does look like the new owners are trying to make a go of it, and if they survive this season and build on their success, they might have a chance. I wish them well.

I agree with Prof. Larry. Please rewrite your paper for a grade no better than a "C." -
^Thus begins the bold transformation of Falafel Girl to Falafel Dude.

I'm thinking "no," as we've closed similar threads in the past. -

^I agree--let's consolidate these two. Nice find, Falafel. Here are my favorite tidbits of info about Phantasmagoria: -

^You mean the one at Alton Towers? It's OK (a bit disappointing), but the best part is the Great Glass Elevator at the end. -

Another excellent choice--everybody has to see the shark and the "King Kong v. PT 109" scenes before they die. -

^^I missed the Rehoboth haunted-house ride the last time I was in the area, but I agree with Larry about Trimper's--a very good, traditional haunted house. Both are a bit off the beaten path. ^Yeah, I wouldn't exactly call MIB "underrated"--it's excellent and has been recognized as such. -

My vote goes to Sindbad's Storybook Adventures at Tokyo DisneySea. No one talks about this ride much, but it's an excellent example of what a Disney dark ride is all about (right down to its catchy, even in Japanese, theme song). -
Yep--it's a chain by the same people who brought us Outback Steakhouse (and paid Jimmy Buffet some money, I guess).

Congratulations on a successful first season--and for cleverly overhyping the build up to the American Idol audition. -
Efteling is a beautiful park that needs a world-class coaster. I think this may be what they're looking for--just install a version of Europa's Blue Fire, only call it "Green Flame." The launch is initiated by an enormous gastric release, which is ignited into a green blast of methane-fueled fire! I will, of course, expect a reasonable fee for the use of this idea.
