SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

^"Your honor, we move for a mistrial and a new jury. It is improosible for my client, an alleged 'killer' whale, to receive a fair hearing before a jury of seals. Their bias against my client's species is obvious!" -

^That's how the death penalty works in most of the states. You lock a person up in a cell alone and 30 or 40 years later, they die. -

An animal cannot "commit murder." They act by instinct, while murder requires some sort of thought process. -

^^Just to claifry any spelling questions here: "lessor" = "landlord" "lessee" = "tenant" We now return to your SFKK thread, which is already in progress. -

Ah, but these updates are worth waiting for. I've been to two Legolands and have yet to sample apple fries. -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Totally agree - except for me its El Toro on the first drop, and a phone instead of a quarter. For those who have been on Tornado - will the shoulder straps effect the airtime on the ride very much? How restricting are the straps? That is probably my only real concern at this point. Tornado's straps had some "give" to them, so I doubt they'd affect airtime any more than standard OTSRs would (probably not as much). But we'll know for certain in a few months. -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

But am I right to say that the most of you had either jackets or sweaters on you? Riding it with nothing more than a T-shirt which leaves your neck exposed is less comfortable. But it all come down to how much "head banging" (or neck slashing in this case) there is on the ride... We were all wearing chain mail and foam-rubber turtlenecks. I don't recall anyone having any problems with the straps on Tornado, and I think Elissa's right--I doubt that the forces on Intimidator 305 are going to "whiplash" anyone as much as those on Tornado. -

^I thought the straps used on Bakken's Tornado were OK--more forgiving that what Intamin uses on Stormrunner at Hershey. -

I moved this from Ask Alvey to the proper forum--thanks for the look at Crush's Coaster with the lights on. -

Remember: "Patience is a virtue." It's bad form to bump your thread to beg for posts. End of lecture. Thanks for the snowy look at my favorite UK theme park. I haven't been there since 2006, but I still consider Nemesis to be the best inverted coaster anywhere. -
One day, Sam Cassell read a whole bunch of urban legends about him. So he started snopes.com to debunk them himself, only to find out that the stories were all true!

BGW can be pretty busy over spring break. As usual, your best bet is to go on a weekday. I agree with Andrew regarding KI and KD. The latter also has Volcano and Dominator going for it, though.

Hard Rock / Freestyle Music Park Discussion Thread

You forgot about the Roller Skater!!! Perhaps SFMM could buy it and have TWO 42'' Height Restriction Kiddie Coasters!!! I thought they were getting Kentucky Kingdom"s Roller Skater. Wow! What if they got all three?! Then they could have three dueling kiddie coasters with a height limit of 42". Can you even call it dueling if there are three? I tend to think that would qualify as a small gang bang. Wow! A gang bang with a height limit. That sucks! Guy "Waiting for Mr.Six's Magical Musical Gang Bang Coaster." Koepp The three rides should be synchronized to "Love to Love You Baby." -

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (BGT Discussion Thread)
cfc replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I disagree. I think that a DarKastle-like ride, if done well, would offer a nice bit of variety for Busch Gardens Tampa despite the presence of Spider-man in Orlando. It's not the ride system that matters--it's the quality of the experience. The presence of animals at BGT certainly didn't stop Disney from building Animal Kingdom. But we'll see. I certainly wouldn't object to the park getting some sort of hyper coaster. -
Ghost Town In The Sky Discussion Thread
cfc replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I feel sorry for the local businesses who put their faith in a revitalized Ghost Town. I remember chatting with some folks who run the tourist-related shops (ice cream, souvenirs, etc.) at the foot of the mountain a few years ago, and they were really looking forward to the park reopening and revitalizing Maggie Valley. -

On the matter of Club TPR, Theme Park Review's Mid-Atlantic Division votes "yea." And, of course, "yay"!
