  1. ^Interesting. Seems there are two dining pages, one of which doesn't mention the Elmo breakfast: http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/Explore/Restaurants.aspx (you have to scroll down and click on "Dine at Castle O'Sullivan).
  2. ^ & ^^ There's no mention of breakfast with the Sesame Street characters on BGW's Web site--all they mention is lunch (and dinner, I suppose). This doesn't necessarily mean that the breakfast is gone, but I think sticking with lunch and dinner would make more sense. Most families have already had breakfast by the time they hit the park.
  3. It'll be interesting to see how this plan for a different pyro-and-light show for each country works--sounds like a good idea. They did a pretty good job with this at Christmas Town. I think changing the simulator is a good move, too--at least that gives them a new ride to promote for 2010.
  4. One of my former coworkers actually visited this park during a consulting trip to Budapest. The side-friction woodie scared the crap out of him (first time he'd ever ridden one).
  5. If I were ever to return to FujiQueue, I'd probably go early and hit the Haunted Hospital first (being as I've done the coasters there). Anything else would be a bonus.
  6. ^Hmm--the "Action Sports Tour" site says "Busch Gardens-Water Country," April 24-25. Odd. Water Country usually doesn't open before May.
  7. I think it looks like William Shatner as Crocodile Dundee.
  8. Here's BGW's latest Facebook clue: There's already a slew of guesses on FB, ranging from a new train station to a Miler Kiddie Coaster to a new stage for concerts.
  9. Retro_Gaga, being as we already have a discussion thread for Hong Kong Disneyland, I merged your topic with it. You can discuss the new "half-pipe" to your heart's content here. Thank you, Chuck
  10. Sigh! I miss the ship already . . . What a great week that was.
  11. ^ & ^^I'm not sure I agree with "fading" the edge of the track. That particular level of detail will probably just be lost when the cards are printed, anyway. The final card looks great, and there were quite a few impressive entries.
  12. What a great week--ziplines, food, hot tubs, beer, "drinks of the day" . . . and all the great people in the group. Thanks, again, Elissa!
  13. I think that Disney was able to get away with this "half-built" strategy in Florida (at least with the Studios park) because they had a captive audience (that is, many guests stay on the property, making it difficult to stray away from Disney). It failed with DCA, though, because it's easier to get away from the "resort." At least they're finally getting the message--it's not the shopping, it's the attractions. I like the plans they've announced for the Hong Kong park.
  14. I voted for jcrouse, Jds03, and n7, mainly because I liked their logos. Their designs were good, as well, although Jds03's was a bit "busy" for my taste.
  15. I already said this once about track length, but the reason I305 is shorter than the B&M hypers is because it doesn't have the amount of airtime hills that they have. Airtime hills have way more track length than low to the ground turns. And I don't think I could say this enough, but NOBODY in Virginia cares about Six Flags America.........NOBODY. I used to live in northern VA and I could tell you without any shadow of a doubt that if you asked them where they would want to go for a theme/amusement park, they would say KD or BGE 100 times out of 100. I guarantee you KD doesn't see SFA as any kind of competition at all. Thats a bold outragous statement. There are several people on here even that prefer SFA to KD...I feel SFA is not even known in the DC-Richmond area. I'm from VA and nobody knows SFA is right there. Everyone remembers Adventure World. Somehow nobody knows about SFA. Never say NOBODY, because thats asking for trouble on these boards Chuck, I've seen Volcano with a 3 hour line on weekdays in the summer for no explainable reason, although of course they should be better than Saturdays. I left the park and returned to Yorktown with a wasted trip that day because the park was so bad. Lines. Reason 2 I prefer SFA to KD. Your mileage may vary. Volcano, in general, will have the longest line of any ride at the park on any day, thanks to slow operations. (Not a knock here--I think KD runs this ride about as well as they can.) So, rule of thumb--Volcano first, Dominator later. Intimidator will probably change this equation, though. As for the SFA vs. KD debate, I think these are parks that are best visited in the spring, before the hordes of summer show up. I've had good times and not-so-good times at both parks.
  16. Perhaps Disney is trying to latch on to some of that bailout money.
  17. ^The big thing to remember when it comes to KD, BGW, and most other parks in the summer: Saturdays bad. Sundays better. Weekdays best.
  18. We already have a topic about "Coasters at Night" in which many people have posted about their favorite nighttime coasters. so, I've merged the new "Best Coasters at Night" topic with the old one. Apollo's Chariot is at its best after dark (as was the late Big Bad Wolf). I actually like Beast during the day, but it does take on a new dimension at night.
  19. I liked Steel Dragon, too (even the "noodly bits"). The old Schwarzkopf is great, as well. I didn't think their woodie was any worse than Rebel Yell at KD, but that was a few years ago (definitely looks prettier than Rebel Yell). Oh, and congratulations, by the way. Maybe the Title Fairy will bless you, as well.
  20. Because it would just come back, anyway. When you get down to it, most coasters at most parks aren't all that "long" once you top the lifthill (or get past the launch). Volcano is a "wham bam thank you mam" sort of ride (although I do like it).
  21. ^I'm not crazy about the font you're using for the names and such (too much like a wedding invitation), but the overall look is pretty good. Lots of good stuff in this thread.
  22. ^^No worries. It's just that this mistake has been cropping up a lot lately (like "lose/loose").
  23. Or they could be both.
  24. OK, we interrupt this topic for a brief spelling lesson: Break (verb)--"to separate into parts with suddenness or violence; fracture." Brake (noun)--"a device for arresting the motion of an object or preventing the motion of a mechanism, usually through friction." Please choose the correct spelling (in this case, "I felt brakes"). This error occurs far too often among posters of all age groups. Thank you. We now return to our previously scheduled topic: Hey, how about that Intimidator? I have high hopes for this ride, myself.
