  1. Well, at least I'm sane, then. Let's try to not take ourselves too seriously, everyone.
  2. ^I was having trouble with their Web site yesterday, but I have been curious about the menu, myself. Turkey works for me.
  3. ^Don't mince words--what do you really think? By the way, the "Ride Warriors" thing isn't just Knott's--Cedar Fair uses this slogan at all their parks.
  4. BGW has released a few more details about the new shows for Christmas Town (including a Sesame Street show in the Old Globe Theatre): Event details are available on the new Christmas Town Web site at http://www.christmastown.com.
  5. So you're "frizzy" and "fuzzy"?
  6. ^Yep--my bad. Missed the link on p. 19.
  7. Someone posted a video of a test run of the Battlestar Galactica coaster (red side) on YouTube (reported on Screamscape): It launches up that hill pretty quickly.
  8. I could've sworn some vampire called out my name when I went through Club Blood, but ducked back into his hidey-hole (only caught a glimpse of him). Was that you?
  9. ^This has already been addressed: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=824821#824821. Different strokes for different folks.
  10. OK, I've sent in my ballot. Here's my top ten (starting with the best, of course): Balder El Toro Colossos My Favorite Steel (Expedition GeForce) Raven Troy The Voyage Thunderhead Tonnerre de Zeus Phoenix And here's my bottom five (bad to worse): The Grizzly (CGA) Jupiter Son of Beast The Bandit Anaconda As lousy as Son of Beast was, I remembered hating Bandit and Anaconda even more.
  11. What's this line from--the porn version of Excaliber?
  12. ^I think that both Bakken's and Tivoli's old woodies will at least crack my top twenty--much better than I'd anticipated. I'm pretty sure Raven and Voyage will crack my top ten, but I keep going back and forth over which I prefer over the other; they're both great rides. I even liked Legend. It was running very well last April.
  13. BGW is going to hold a Christmas Town Q&A session on Facebook on Thursday, November 12, 2:00 to 2:30 pm: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=311678275014&ref=mf. I presume this is Eastern Standard Time. You have to "RSVP" and post your questions on BGW's Wall. Scott Gasparich, the park's vice president of entertainment, will answer the posted questions.
  14. They look like enormous rollerskates. Too bad they aren't making Bond flicks with Roger Moore--these would make for one amazing chase scene.
  15. ^Are these "interactive games" similar to what Disney added to the Soarin' queue (only with a space theme)? The refurbed queue area looks great, by the way.
  16. Yes--think of all the warmth that could be generated by burning that huge stack of kindling.
  17. ^He definitely added a lot to the Festhaus's atmosphere, and he was always happy to chat with guests. I rather doubt they could find a good replacement for him.
  18. Robert Bauman, who was the Burgermeister in BGW's Festhaus from 1975-2002, died recently at the age of 95 (obituary here). He had previously served in U.S. Army and saw action in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam before retiring as a lt. colonel. Mr. Bauman was a popular figure at the park and spent his days singing traditional German songs in the Festhaus--while decked out in lederhosen and swinging a beer stein, of course.
  19. More news from Holiday World: Looks like something else for TPR's Mid-America Trippers to look forward to.
  20. We are all Larry's minions.
  21. I know that Kings Dominion has picnic tables set up in their parking lot, so you can eat what you brought out there (it's even part of the entrance announcements--eat it there, don't bring it inside). Not sure about other Cedar Fair parks.
  22. Tivoli Friheden--Else's Hotel Sign.
  23. ^Well, "Intimidator" is a better name for a coaster than "Dale."
  24. I share your opinion on the "Disneyland v. Magic Kingdom" debate, but if the Florida Fantasyland makeover goes well, it might change. That being said, I prefer the Florida version of NEMO.
  25. Really, Joe--just drink some wine, then ride. You won't feel a thing. Thanks for this look at a South American park--I'm particularly intrigued by the "dark-ride," walkthrough attractions you mentioned.
