Dreamworld looks pretty good--particularly the theming on the water rides. What is the meaning of "Spooty Spin"? I take it that "spooty" is Aussie slang.

One of my favorite examples of product placement in movies comes from Goldfinger. Bond is being held on Auric Goldfinger's horse ranch near Louisville. Two CIA agents keep tabs on Bond and Goldfinger, and they spend a lot of their time parked in front of a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise. They even eat the product in one scene. I bet the Colonel paid a pretty penny for that.

It was nice of that bear to clean the lint out of Piers's navel. -
To me, it's just a double-chicken sandwich without a bun. They should encase it in a fully loaded bagel or maybe a pair of waffles to make it truly deadly.

^This still applies.

According to the park's Web site, there is regular bus service from New York City: http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/info/directions.aspx (just scroll down to the bottom for the info). I have no idea how dependable this service is.

I think the image in your signature is too large. Here are the guidelines from TPR's Terms of Service: If you reduce the size of the image, you might have better luck. Chuck Site Moderator.

How about "artily phallic"? -
Although your co-riders were not so fortunate.

It would make a lot more sense to bring in platinum passholders via the Dominator path--maybe they could just string a rope there between the two fences--or being in passholders 15 to 20 minutes early if they have to use the old path. I saw them rehearsing Celtic Fyre at media day a month ago. Were they dancing on the stage-side tables?

I think locals were more bummed than tourists, particularly those with kids. BBW was the "big-kids" coaster with the lowest height requirement, so riding it was sort of a rite of passage around here. -

I was wondering when these pictures would appear on TPR. It was great hanging out with you and Dave (and, yes, I have nothing better to do). They've never had sheep before, but aside from the absence of the Big Bad Wolf, nothing has really changed in terms of operations. What was nice was that BGE and Blackstone actually listened to their guests; people were bummed that the old Clydesdales were gone, so they the park bought new ones. -

^I rather doubt that they made the decision to remove the Big Bad Wolf lightly. I figure they would've preferred to keep a signature attraction operating, if possible. As for Drachen Fire, that ride was brutal, at least in its original form. I hated that thing and shed no tears over its removal, but some folks remember it fondly. -

Citizen Kane. Lawrence of Arabia. Neither of these films involved a mega-pirhana. But if Orson Welles and David Lean had access to such technology, surely they would've used it. "I'M CHARLES FOSTER KANE . . . OH, CRAP! A MEGA-PIRHANA HAS MY LEG!" "We have no hope of defeating the Turks at Damascus, Lawrence. They have a MEGA-PIRHANA!" -

^There were a few wisecracks about that around town--and it could be some sly little joke on the part of those crafty college students. William and Mary had a transsexual homecoming queen last year, so I was sort of pulling for the "Fighting Transsexuals of W&M." -
I had no issues with the Santa Fe during TPR's Europe Trip, and the walk to the parks was rather nice (especially through the "Old West" of the Cheyenne). The breakfast at the Santa Fe is pretty basic (croissants, cereal, fruit), but that was OK by me.

"Ghetto" like Disney and Universal? They've been assigning seats for years. This doesn't bother me as long as it speeds up the line, which it apparently does. But that's a minor quibble. I think the rest of your review is on the money. -

Yeah, I wished I could've stayed an extra day after WCB--a nice, laid-back time at Disneyland would've been the perfect finish.
