  1. ^Perhaps capybaras are like buses for monkeys.
  2. ^Thanks for the clarification. I rode Pilgrim's Plunge in the springtime during the first year it operated (before the water park opened for the season).
  3. ^Or if it even still exists.
  4. ^Evil often wears a pleasant face, Bill.
  5. I'd forgotten that Johnston had directed Jurassic Park 3.
  6. ^Looking forward to The Hobbit, although I'm not sure it can hold up over three movies. I'm indifferent toward Skyfall, as I don't care for Daniel Craig as Bond.
  7. ^That would explain the ghostly "cowabunga" I heard as we walked by.
  8. ^Nope. You could reach it from either the amusement park or the water park (even when the latter was closed).
  9. I visited the place back when it was still Bonfante Gardens and really enjoyed it. Quicksilver Express is a good family coaster, and the car ride may be the best one I've ever ridden in any park.
  10. I'll try to check out Jungle Jim's the next time I'm in Cincinnati. The supermarkets around here are so boring.
  11. I think OTSRs would add some different type of pain to it.
  12. ^^Exactly. There was a bit of wailing and gnashing of teeth when the Big Bad Wolf was removed, but at least that ride was one of the last of a dying breed. Here's to as speedy a recovery as possible for the people of the Jersey Shore.
  13. The fish-nibble-your-feet tank has so much potential as a grisly scene in a SyFy movie. "Mini-Mega Piranha," anyone?
  14. I agree that Whedon would be a great fit for one of the new movies, he's signed to do The Avengers sequel which is supposed to be released in 2015 as well so I think he's tied up. However, one name that hasn't gotten a lot of mention that I think would do awesome is Joe Johnston. I thought he did a good job with the Captain America movie and he was one of the Art Directors on Empire Strikes Back (He came up with the Boba Fett design) Joe Johnston might be a good choice, too. He also directed the underrated Rocketeer for Disney, as well.
  15. I loved it when they did the "lineup" to determine who would ride on the spaceship kiddie coaster based on size. I don't recall anybody being denied, though. It was also great how Robb and Elissa ensured that everyone would get the credits there.
  16. ^del Toro adapting and directing Lovecraft would be excellent--he's just the guy for the job. I think Joss Whedon would be the best fit for Star Wars--particuarly if he can bring his offbeat sense of humor to the series.
  17. Agreed. The people living on the Jersey Shore have much more imnportant concerns than a few lost coasters. They really bore the brunt of this hurricane.
  18. ^And this one wasn't even a little kiddie coaster. Yet those tiny Chinese "Fruit Worm" coasters were able to handle the group just fine. Go figure.
  19. Scott Pilgrim vs The Empire? The Force vs. Vegan Powers.
  20. It cracks me up that Fuji-Q, a park that is often slammed with huge crowds, installed a rapids ride with four-person rafts.
  21. In my case, I just haven't gotten around to hitting the Jersey Shore.
  22. There will probably be some warning in Consumer Reports about buying used cars and roller coasters from New Jersey.
  23. The Spanish parks have intrigued me since I saw the TRs from Theme Park Review's trip there back in 2007. This hotel looks great (much better than the western-themed hotel at Paris Disney).
