  1. This is really wonderful! The church looks gorgeous, and it has a rollercoaster! Awesome.
  2. What kind of a kiddie coaster? Dragon wagon? Wacky worm? Rollerskater? Wooden? B&M's first ever? GIVE ME DETAILS!
  3. Actually, you could do an outside cobra roll, probably, even with a normal width, if it was designed like a massively overbanked version of Magnum's turnaround, if that makes sense at all. It would ride like a cobra roll, although it might not go upside down, and if designed properly, shouldn't have any more forces than those "horseshoe" things you find on all flyers.
  4. I think I crashed the system! All I get out of it is a bunch of random nonsense! I guess Chauncey isn't easily anagramable. Edit: I just tried my real name, and the full version of my screen name "Chauncey Gardiner" (it's from a book/movie). Still, all I get back is random nonsense! It all sounds like German, or something, and I know I'm selecting English.
  5. Yeah. I'm 99.99% sure I have that too. It's not "official", but, frankly, I've been diagnosed with about 1,000 different psychological problems, and when I read up on them they're always completely off! However, when I first read up on Asperger's it was almost scary! It was quite clearly, and exactly, me.
  6. I don't have friends. Not in a "Nobody loves me" sort of way, or a "People scare me!" sort of way, I'm just a solitary sort of guy. My mother, however, doesn't seem to enjoy it. She says she does, and she puts up with it, but I don't think she likes it. She goes with me to all these parks, and does nothing. Of course I always offer to let her just drop me off, but she always insists on comming. I never get why...
  7. I'm sort of shocked to be hearing good things about this rollercoaster. It's at some no-name park in the middle of nowhere, built by a company with no track record to speak of. The layout doesn't really seem that impressive, either. Still, I hope to make it there sometime this year, or next year, just because it's one of the few major Florida parks I haven't been to (and I'm using "major" here extremely loosely!). The others are Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, and Cypress Gardens. Anyways. I'm glad to hear it's good! I was actually shocked to discover that it was Florida's #1 wooden rollercoaster in the Mitch Hawker poll! Then again, judging by their steel results, the poll doesn't really apply to me. They say, for instance, that Pyrock is better than Blyzrock, that Montu is better than Dueling Dragons, and that somehow Kraken is better than Kumba. What? I love all those rides, but the order is all messed up.
  8. 90%+ sure about: Busch Gardens Tampa Busch Gardens Williamsburg Hersheypark Kennywood Sea World Orlando 70%+ sure about: Dollywood Holidayworld Silver Dollar City Universal Studios Resort Walt Disney World Resort 50%+ sure about: Boomers Cypress Gardens Knoebel's 30%+ sure about: All of the smaller parks near those mentioned above. 10+ sure about: All of the larger parks near those mentioned above. 0%+ sure about: All of the parks throughout the known universe, and any universes yet to be discovered.
  9. On every ride I've seen a variation in crossties throughout the track, they seemed to concentrated around the connections. I'm guessing it has something to do with that, then. That's all I know...
  10. I've had walks ons for Kumba! Actually, I've had walks on for Sheikra! Anyways. You didn't even try to ride Gwazi at night? If I go to this thing I'm probably just going to do nonstop nightrides on Gwazi Tiger in the backseat! But I won't because I have no way to get there (or, more accurately, get back!) . Anybody want to give me a lift?
  11. I just rode Gwazi twice on each side in the back, in the rain. There was a LOT more airtime than I remember, and most of it was taken while banked, which really enhanced it, and, also, meant the roughness wasn't as much of a problem. It was amazing. I couldn't ride anything else, though, because we went late in the day, it was raining off and on which caused rides to shut down temporarily, and my mom hasn't been feeling too good. Still, I haven't ridden it enough this season, so, I'm glad I did.
  12. "Little yellow spider" by Devendra Banhart. Best lyric ever: "Hey there you little sexy pig, you made it with a man, now you've got a little kid with hoofs instead of hands..."
  13. I wouldn't want any wooden rollercoasters to get this track! I know what poor mantenience can do to a wooden rollercoaster, I live right down the road from Gwazi, after all, but on the other hand, Gwazi is the only ride left in the park that doesn't bore me, because every ride is completely different from the last, unlike, say, a B&M. While I've never been on a Intamin wooden, from what you're saying right now, that wouldn't be true if Gwazi was built with the Intamin track, and, for me, that would be a great loss.
  14. "Unmade bed" by Sonic Youth, from "Sonic nurse".
  15. I was 6, or 7, or something. My first rollercoaster was a Dragon wagon, although it was the largest model (2 helixes), and I loved it. I looked for it in the RCDB, but it isn't there. It replaced this ride, and was this model. Anyways. My first major coaster was Scorpion at BGT. I'm sure most of you know that one! Although last time I rode I got hit a few times by the support structure, and surrounding foliage! I guess I've gotten too big to put my hands up. Whatever.
  16. "I hope there's someone" by Antony and the Johnsons.
  17. I voted for helixes and turns, although I love it all, except launches, and the queue. A launch is just a first drop without a drop, and a queue is just a queue. However, what really matters isn't the individual elements per-se, but how they're used. A rollercoaster that is nonstop loops, or nonstop turns, or nonstop airtime, or nonstop anything, really, is boring. I want a ride that can find a nice balance between all the different kinds of elements, forces, etc.
  18. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I've never lived more than 30 minutes away, and currently live about 10 minutes away. I sort of wish I didn't, though. Amazing rides like Montu are completely boring, because I've done them all 1,000 times. Oh, well.
  19. That's an uninteresting question. A better question is "What would you do if rollercoasters were banned everywhere?". That way you can't skirt around it by saying "I'd just move", or "I'd travel outside the USA". Being an anarchist, I'd probably just ignore the ban, and open up my own "Rollercoaster speakeasy" as Coaster Fanatic put it. Only mine would be better.
  20. It's nice to see them using the magnetic brakes on this, too. I wonder when we'll see an all magnetic-brake B&M?
  21. No. I never scream on a rollercoaster, and I'm usually the only one, which makes me feel weird. I'm also usually the only one with their arms up, which makes me feel weirder, although it has nothing to do with the question. I just don't find rollercoasters scary, really...
  22. Postrock / ambient / experimental / whatever. You forgot that. I suppose "Alternative" works...
  23. Yes, that's right. Harry Traver's rides were all destroyed and/or heavily modified (ie: The Cyclone become an out and back known as The Comet, which is still operating). 1 Prior & Church coaster, and 1 more Church. The Big Dipper at Belmont Park in San Diego, California (Prior & Church), and The Dragon at Playland in Rye, New York (Church).
  24. I'd say any of the great Schwarzkopfs and Prior and Church rollercoasters which have been demolished/butchered throughout the years. I'd have especially liked the ride Thriller, before Six Flags got a hold of it. Why did Premier do those awful things to it? They should have just refused, or something. Stood up for all the poor, unfortunite, Schwarzkopfs. Assholes.
