  1. ^ Unfortunately no. I really believe 2015 will be a continuation of sprucing up the park for year 2 of the 40th Celebration along with a complete renovation of WaterWorks. I'd love to be surprised though!
  2. Everyone seems to be hoping for a black supports or track, but not me. With a ride of this size it'll only get painted every decade or more (ex: TTD and MF at Cedar Point), and black will fade and look worse 1000 times quicker than other colors.
  3. Your best day-trip from DC is definitely Kings Dominion. It's under an hour and a half from DC (although I-95 will be backed up one way or the other I'm sure) and is a great one-day park where everything can be done but will keep you plenty busy/having fun until close. Plus, you'll have time for a few re-rides on your favorite. It would be a 5 hour round trip for you in a day if you went to BGW from DC and I feel like to appreciate all BGW has in a day you either have to splurge for Quick Queue or skip all the non-coaster rides.
  4. ^^ Similar to every other successful park/chain in the country. I believe there are 10 X as many people talking about Holiday World actually having the money over not having it... Of course they have the money to build the project they're building. I know speculations get boring down to the stupidest conversations right before an announcement, but this is just silly to say the park doesn't have enough money and/or keep saying they do over and over...
  5. I know it has been said many times before, but if they'd simply just put Intimidator 305 restraints on Maverick instead the ride would be amazing. It would definitely be in my top 5 if they transitioned to those.
  6. ^ It sure does, but remember back in 2009 when teasing Intimidator everything was just as obvious to the name "White Lightning" at this point in the game. However, there is new marketing/PR there now so they may just be teasing to the GP rather than enthusiasts. It sure would be disappointing though if they tease us with the Centurion theme now (which is a good name for Cedar Fair standards) and end up going with the crappy Fury 325 name. By the way, I LOVE their use of roman numerals, wish more parks would jump on this bandwagon.
  7. Magnum, Verbolten, Big Bad Wolf, and Beast are all VERY overrated in my opinion. I have many more but those are the ones that always get on my nerves when people fantasize over them.
  8. Well with Illuminights the whole park was tacky... now at least only Italy and the bridge is. I understand the desire for a summer event, but why can't the theme just be "summer" and have colorful lights/decor that will somewhat fit in unlike Illuminights and Star Spangled Nights. Thanks for the report, I'll be checking it out soon!
  9. This should NOT be overlooked. I was down there last week - this ride is insane! It is better than the Windseekers and StarFlyers (which I also love). They claim it is the only one in the world... I haven't ever heard of/seen one before, has anyone else? 180 feet high, 10 RPM, and spinning! (riders get to pick whether they want to spin or not... but that's what makes this so unique) Check out the video and definitely don't skip out on it next time you're in the area. RIP actual Myrtle Beach Pavilion - you are still missed
  10. Cedar Point just tweeted: Stand might just be a hint to Mantis. There have been rumors of floorless trains on Mantis soon and it does need new paint. Like you all said it is practically Cavs colors already. Just speculating though!
  11. ^ They weren't even to the gray part on the tower, definitely not freaky and holy crap worthy like getting stuck at the top. I don't understand why the woman insisted on yelling to turn off the music.
  12. ^ I've noticed (and the 2013 attendance reports prove it) that the park hasn't been too crowded and lines have been manageable the past 2 seasons.
  13. ^ I agree with exactly what he is saying. I think this ride has the potential to be huge, but intense? I have my doubts. MF is a great example, same with most B&Ms built in the last decade.
  14. ^ Glad to see those water park relocation rumors were true. It appears they already moved the wave pool to the front gate!
  15. This. That is exactly what I was trying to say earlier. Just trying to look at who the park's audience is, thinking of what would be best received by the ones who go to this park, at the competition (KK), and what would be most popular at the park is a no brainer... a steel roller coaster the whole family can enjoy. ... not trying to completely bust the "*insert park name here* is going to build the best coaster ever!" conversations that happen with every coaster construction before the announcements every single summer
  16. Twist 'N Shout at Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach, SC... and boy it's a rough one I sure do miss the Myrtle Beach Pavilion
  17. I heard they were trying to decide whether to bring back Disaster Transport or WildCat and naming it King James. ...just kidding, don't get too excited CP fanboys
  18. Why are many people assuming this...? Holiday World is 1.) building their very first steel so I doubt it's going to be the BEST steel coaster ever like some are expecting - You build yourselves up to that overtime. 2.) probably the most family friendly large park (besides Magic Kingdom/DisneyLand) I've been to, so I think this is going to be a ride the whole family can enjoy. Sure, it will be thrilling, but I'd bet anything this isn't going to be no Intimidator 305 insane intense ride (or even equivalent to the old-school B&M punch).
  19. ^ Nah no need for it at Kings Dominion. If you ride Volcano first at opening, you'll be fine throughout the rest of the day. Even with a full queue Volcano's line is just a little more than an hour thanks to the reconfigured station and line.
  20. Volcano, Flight of Fear, Intimidator 305 then whatever you want in whatever order. Hit Dominator in the late afternoon as that line gets shorter as the crowds move further back in the park (and WaterWorks) as the day goes on.
  21. ^ Public... you'll see it no worries The line splits in two in front of the station.
  22. The good news is Six Flags guests do not have to worry about this happening on Scream... #notreestobeseen Parking Lot Y0L0 $wag
  23. Well say your goodbyes to any trees all the Six Flags actually have left... YoLo In all seriousness, this could have been a lot worse, I'm glad they were able to get everyone off and hope for a speedy recoveries!
  24. At the current moment, I believe 2015 will bring more throwback/general park improvements throughout the park to keep celebrating the 40th along with a WaterWorks refurbishment with new paint, slides, attractions, and a rename to Soak City or a throwback to Hurricane Reef (the original name). I would like Dorney's name "Wildwater Kingdom" at Kings Dominion though, but I doubt it.
  25. I believe this is the first review that has ever left me speechless. I cannot wait to hear more about the coaster and experience it for myself. Disney better pick up their game in Orlando because this looks DisneySea quality!
