  1. So do I! I feel like with the park becoming more and more guest-friendly, it could happen eventually. Also, update to the Miner's Revenge rumor - on top of the protestors last year, now Virginia's new ADA laws may not even be allowing the park to have a maze in the WWC line. Even though it was always a weaker maze no matter the theme, it's always a disappointment to lose a maze. I guess that just means more monsters everywhere else!
  2. It's not. Meanwhile the Carowinds fans chaos is continuing... Part of the introduction/teaser for announcement day. Jarsh - Carowinds Connection
  3. Sorry to double post, I meant to put this up yesterday... The park posted this on their Facebook page - absolutely stunning!
  4. We have an all new Haunt website this year - and it's finally live! https://www.kingsdominion.com/things-to-do/halloween-haunt Quick Notes: 1.) I love the return of Maze of Madness - I feel like it's going to be No Vacancy/Zombie High attention to detail and a great facade. 2.) No replacement for Miner's Revenge? Wonder if they just haven't released it yet or nothing is actually happening, which would be rather disappointing because of the idiotic protestors. 3.) No new scare zones... kind of a bummer to me 4.) Only 3 shows? Not even one listed in the KD Theater or Grand Bandstand. I feel like this the show names/logos of the shows aren't complete yet and that's why they aren't on the website yet. Keep in mind, the website hasn't been released to the public yet (only accessible if you truly hunt for it) and could very well still be a work in progress. Anyways, I'll be doing my last pre-Haunt trip to the park tomorrow. I'll post an update of how Haunt construction is going and if I hear any rumors.
  5. Glad to see the track has arrived. CoasterFanatic01 - Carowinds Connection
  6. ¥et another Cedar Fair coaster where practically every detail is released a few days before. Well I guess the announcement will be interesting just to see how they pull off a themed plaza/area for Fury 325 since that's the only information that hasn't been leaked.
  7. You know Silver Dollar City knocked it out of the park with this addition when it's been over an hour since the announcement and there have been no complaints on the forum!
  8. I must say, this looks incredible. Another quality addition made by Herschend. If only they could put one of those free-fall drop rides where Timber Tower used to be in Dollywood.
  9. If they'd make a newer, better version of RCT2 I'd be the happiest guy alive. But of course, this already looks like RCT3 quality
  10. ^ exactly correct The current version of the ride is just as intense as the original... with a LONGER blackout/greyout. The turn was modified for the wheels only. The original turn was 270 degrees 5 feet off the ground before going up the 150 ft. hill. Now the turn is 180 degrees 5 feet off the ground, climbs to approximately 75 feet for the final 90 degrees before going up the 150 ft. hill. Back to Carowinds, if this ride is actually 325 feet tall, it'll be the best feature of the ride. Even though it's basically a more "turny" version of Intimidator, at least it will be 93 feet taller if the 325 height is correct.
  11. Love this project - Congrats to Hersheypark!
  12. Without a doubt, it's fake. Don't get your hopes up.
  13. There's a reason it's free. Seeing Busch and all Cedar Fair parks convert was so heavenly.
  14. Yes, getting replaced by the return of "Maze of Madness" to celebrate the 40th Anniversary. We're still waiting to hear how they're going to tweak Miner's Revenge to make it non-offensive as there's rumors the name and anything miner related are out. As far as attendance goes, I was just at KD and BGW the same day on Tuesday. If I had to guess both parks had roughly the same amount of people, if not slightly more at KD. What many people don't realize at KD is the fact that many people are very hidden in the back portion of the water park, especially in the wave pools. This is why KD is and needs to invest in the water park next season, it's one of the most popular attractions and can people shoulder-to-shoulder crowded on the hottest days of summer. To put this past Tuesdays wait-times in comparison: BGW Griffon, Alpengeist, Verbolten - all walk-ons Apollo's Chariot - 5 mins LochNess Monster - 10 mins Flats - 0-1 cycle wait Shows - decent crowds KD Coasters not listed - walk-on to 1 cycle wait Flight of Fear, Dominator - 10 mins Intimidator 305 - 15 mins Volcano - 30 mins Flats - 1-2 cycle wait Shows - decent crowds Also, remember that some Virginia schools are already back in session even though we do have the Kings Dominion Law.
  15. Seems like the Knott's creative team really spent some time in planning this Special Ops area - I'm sure it'll be a hit with younger demographics (especially male) of the GP... the area really is large! Unfortunately due to this the other mazes seem not quite as original as always - but The Tooth Fairy seems like it is by far has the most potential and be quite good judging just by the name and short description.
  16. I was at both Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens yesterday looking for Haunt/HOS construction. Nothing to report on at BGW, but as announced Dodgem is closed and construction on the new "Maze of Madness" house has begun. I snagged a few photos and thought I'd share.
  17. ^ Nope, but it wasn't in quite as bad shape as Carowinds'... but still in awful condition. Carowinds' is better now after the retracking this offseason obviously.
  18. Sorry to double post... but it's official! Via Kings Dominion's Official Facebook page
  19. I know recently Friday July 18 - Sunday July 20 was some of the most crowded days of the season, so I've heard. On that Saturday the season pass parking lot was full and the regular parking lot was practically full (including the gravel lots). Needless to say, if you go on a Saturday, you'll be waiting (especially during Haunt!). Another thing is, I've noticed this season is operations are doing well, moving faster, and having more trains/staff on weekdays which is always a plus.
  20. I'm glad you enjoyed the park, especially Intimidator 305 and Rebel Yell. Rebel Yell in the middle of a car (non-wheel seat) is still one of my favorite woodies out there... I enjoy it much, much more than KI's Racer and Carowinds' Thunder Road.
  21. Well this ride is getting 3 cars per train, rather than 2... But still, the teal/orange colors (especially next to AC's purple/yellow), proximity to Apollo's Chariot, horribly capacity, tacky BMX biker theming, removal of trees, and how it'll make BGW's curbside appeal look like a Six Flags are all enough reasons for me still not to support this addition.
  22. 2015 will be the year. Kings Island, Cedar Point, Dorney Park, Carowinds, ect. have all gotten water park upgrades in the past 3 seasons.
  23. I think MF just leaves some enthusiasts wondering how something so tall, so massive, with such great elements be so... forceless? No pun intended. On the topic of Wonderland, what about 2015? Waterslides and the transformation of SplashWorks to Soak City maybe?
  24. HAUNT NEWS! Semi-Confirmed: MAZE OF MADNESS returning for the 40th Celebration! This was always one of (if not the) most popular former mazes at the park, Haunt fans will love this! This was always one of the park's most popular mazes and I'd love to see to see what they can come up with now that HAUNT is so much better than several years ago. Rumors are it is replacing Medieval Macabre. I'd guess this as well as I've been saying it's on the chopping block this year all season long. The room with the mirrors/strobes/hospital beds that they had in The Asylum back in 2011 needs to be recreated in this.
