So I go into subway today and order my usual subway club, get to the counter to pay only to find out that i'm being charged 6.75 for a footlong. Now they only have three or four footlongs for 5 bucks, what the heck is this? I know subway isn't gourmet food but at 5 bucks it's a decent deal. But 6.75 for a sub is getting up there a bit. MOD EDIT: Merged into the Fast Food thread, Subway certainly doesn't need it's own thread.

Actually I think it is Los Angeles county that has that OTSR law, which would explain why monty doesn't have them, Knotts is in Orange County. -

Great TR, I can't wait to try that new buffet by gryphon. -
Anybody watch that show "The Pickup Artist"? What do you guys think about? I was watching it the other night, I've never seen anything on tv quite like that before.

Hey everyone, I'm Steve from Hazleton PA. My home park is Knoebels, which is 30 mins from my house. I got into coasters in the late 90's and have ridden about 60 or 70. I grew up at Hershey, Dorney, and I've been to Knoebels every summer of my life since I was young. I'm a full time college student and run a buisness on the side. I just got into playing warhammer online, if you haven't played it yet you should check it out.

Great TR! Too bad you skipped the mansion though, even though it's scary, the entertainment factor and originality make up for it and make it worthwhile. -
Great TR, reminds me of all the fun I had during the two and a half years I lived in the valley. C and C is a nice little park but way too small for a metro area like Phoenix. I've seen a few movies at the deer park amc, one of the nicest ones in the area. Which In n out burger is that? I used to frequent the one on Frank Lloyd wright quite a bit.

Just remember when you get an all day stamp, it doesn't include the Haunted House or the Sky ride. If you only go part of the day, tickets are sometimes a better option, depending on how crowded the park is. Usually they only have stamps during the week, when they do that they usually only run one train on the coasters. Also ride the pioneer train when it's dark, if possible. It feels like you're really deep in the woods, far away from civilization.

What is your local park?

Knoebels- 30 mins. Dorney and Hershey-About an hour -
What was funny was that the kid's friends were about twenty feet away yelling for him to get out of there, that's when he jumped back over the fence and they all ran away as fast as they could. I wonder if those kids thought they were going to get away, considering there is only one way out of the park. One thing I thought was odd was that after rapids stopped, they had to evacuate the rafts using a series of platforms and ladders, I would just have assumed they could have gotten it running normally again.

That looks like an awesome coaster. -
I think this ended up being the fastest three days of my life, the six hour drive back to pa felt much longer then the entire trip itself. The longest waits were 10-15 minutes even with two train operation on most of the coasters. We got three rides on alpie on Thursday night without getting off, until the op decided to only allow two rerides at a time. I'll leave you with my attempt at an artsy shot. Thanks for reading. Here's Duke having some dinner. The girl working the control booth near the geysers started to plead with the kid not to jump, but he decided to jump the fence anyway and she hit the E-Stop and here's what happened. While I was snapping some shots of Roman Rapids some kid decided to jump the fence and attempt to go for a swim. Even Griffon's mid course is higher then Nessie. For all you brake run enthusiasts. Festhaus is just plain awesome. If you come out of here hungry it's your own fault. I love the way this ride is themed. I don't know if they normally do this, but they were heavily breaking Alpengeist at the stop of the first drop. My favorite element on Alpengeist. Le Scoot can get you pretty wet for a standard flume I wonder if there is a pot of gold under there? Another group of riders awaiting their fate. I really liked the grey wolf show and how the trainers got all the wolves to howl.

The sb-400 is a great flash for the money. I also bought the 55-200 nikor zoom with vr, I like to use that in combo with the kit lens, the only problem is that you have to change lenses if you want the 55-200 zoom. The 18-200 nikor is nice and does the same thing as combination of the other two but costs about 400 more then the 55-200.

I just got a D40 last December. It's an incredible camera for the price. www.kenrockwell.com has a whole section(40+ pages) where he describes the camera in pretty good detail.

Celebrities and Athletes you've met...
ctriceman replied to SixFlagsTexas's topic in Random, Random, Random
When I was working as a bartender, I met a lot of sports celebs. One of the coolest was Greg Maddux who came in by himself one night while waiting for his friends. We had a pretty simple conversation about something on tv. I didn't even know who it was until he got up to go to the bathroom and a bunch of baseball fans sitting nearby told me it was Maddux. He was really considerate of the fans, and talked for a bit with the kids. When his friends showed up, they kept calling him dog and acting like little schoolgirls. While working behind a bar most pro athletes are rude and extremely poor tippers, when they tip at all. The celebrity I still get the biggest kick out of seeing is Dick Knoebel ride around in his golf cart, every time I go to Knoebels. -

Opening day at Knoebels TR

There isn't too much going on with FT, actually some areas surrounding FT still look like a construction site, with some empty footers and a decent amount of construction materials. -

Hello everyone. I took some pictures at Knoebels today on opening day. There is no sign of the new wipeout that they have on their website, nor is there any sign of Flying turns running or testing.
