  1. Glad to see they're still chugging along. Looking back at that video it looks honestly terrifying and ridiculously out of control. I'll definitely be making a trip down when this gets opened up.
  2. I was thinking the same thing...then thought if they were using LSMs they could run up and down the curves on either end a bit, maybe start with a bit of a rocking action. Then looking back at the picture, you can actually see them in the track up the first curve into the second square of the supports. Still pretty short, could be a strong launch!
  3. Holy crap! So much new ride info so fast! This looks crazy, and definitely something pulling me west again. I've got plenty of catching up to do over there anyway.
  4. I'm just nervous at how well this will hold up being dismantled and transported. Hopefully they can do some extensive train work to avoid too much pain. Either way, I'm sure the guests at SFA will eat it up.
  5. ^The park is in Rye, New York. I guess we'll see what comes out of it. Rules are rules.
  6. This seems pretty decent. I've never been on one of these so I'm looking forward to it being at a park that's close enough for a day trip.
  7. The first drop on this is going to be crazy. The nolimits video doesn't really show it but it actually goes down straight a bit and has a really sharp looking kink in it to the left. Should be interesting.
  8. Goudurix at Parc Asterix. I'd always heard. And it is most definitely true. Got a good punch in the face that left my ear and jaw numb for a while.
  9. Great TR Matt, and some really cool shots of Kingda Ka! Glad you guys enjoyed yourself, I really miss Great Adventure. Hope to see you again soon!
  10. Castle's n Coasters Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Fiesta Texas Canada's Wonderland Darien Lake Martin's Fantasy Island Waldameer Kennywood Lake Compounce Six Flags New England Canobie Lake Park Efteling Walibi World Toverland Walibi Belgium Plopsaland Phantasialand Holiday Park Europa Park Parc Asterix Big Belgian fair Big German fair (with Olympia Looping!) Still to come: Sea World Orlando Universal/Islands of Adventure Busch Gardens Tampa I think my best year so far!
  11. I'd say a tie between Volcano and Anubis at Plopsaland. The portion of LIMS looks to be about 10 feet long, and boy does it get you up to speed in a jolt.
  12. I had my first visit to Europa last week and it was really great. The park was super busy, but the PPH on their rides is just insane, Silver Star with its 3 trains, I believe Blue Fire had 4, while the others had a solid 5 or 6. The lines averaged around an hour per ride, but it didn't feel too bad as you're constantly doing a slow walk. I really loved Blue Fire, it's so cool with just lap bars on inversions and being able to lean forward and hang around while going upside down, it just creates an entirely different perspective. All in all a really well rounded park, only to be made better with the GCI next year.
  13. B&M Giga! This looks so cool! Really looking forward to next year. It's nice that it's on the opposite side of the park from Behemoth to help balance the crowds. And so what if they're "similar". This will help Behemoth's line from being too too long, and Behemoth will help Leviathan's line from being totally ridiculous. Maybe. Either way, it's another awesome ride.
  14. I can't wait for the details! Canada's Wonderland has become a park I visit once or twice a year, so I'm really excited for this!
  15. I thought the reasoning for other Boomerang valley-ings was that the train was on its way back through the station and the brakes didn't engage, allowing it to roll a ways up the first spike and down with just enough momentum to make it into the cobra roll.
  16. You're gettin' me all excited, only a couple weeks until I can give it a go! Thanks for the photos.
  17. I was at the park yesterday, expecting the ride to still be closed, as it was for the first half of the day. But at about 3pm from the waterpark I noticed the lift gears moving, then finally an empty train. They sent out a few over the course of an hour or so, then we noticed two maintenance guys riding in the front. A little after 5pm we were over near predator, and noticed people in the station! It was insanely lucky for us to have planned this day before the accident even happened and it worked out that it reopened. The queue has a constantly playing safety spiel, there are two big ride signs up in the station, some tiny signs here and there. Also on the exit ramp, they have a new sign and a plastic holder with disability ridership pamphlets. I was expecting to be stapled pretty hard but surprisingly, no. On another note, the ride is running amazingly. -Nick
  18. Was that the standup? I was so happy that there weren't many people in line when I was there cutting in front haha Let's not forget about Superman at Great Adventure when no attendant is there. The one I always remember is Le Monstre, having the Qbot scanned, and being let through a fence that puts you in a huge open area for everyone in the long line down the elevated queue to watch you walk up and cut them all off. I'm surprised we didn't get spit on. And then there was no one when we got to the top.
  19. I think this is awesome, and agree that a park like Cedar Point would be amazing with something like this. I just hope they're able to integrate it properly, however they're going to allow people to cut in. Flash pass is nice, you've got a person there to scan your pass and allow you in. I remember going to La Ronde and having to skip in front of an entire crowd of people only to have to decide who looks nice enough to cut off on our own. Hopefully there's a separation, or at least a monitored cut off point.
  20. While I might prefer a nice comfortable and amazing Intamin woodie, I still love X2, and the new ride possibly being a 4D, I'm pretty happy with that.
  21. Cyclone back seat is one of the few rides that still makes me really nervous. It's such a sharp jolt, I'd say almost moreso than Cyclops, or El Toro, which is definitely more smooth air.
  22. ^^^I'm prettttty sure it has those "dual latched" seat belts, at least, it always did and they've changed them this season and I didn't realize.
  23. ^^I'm glad to see Ranger up and running again, when I was there a few weeks ago it was just a skeleton.
  24. I'm still curious where this actually occurred, some things saying he fell "208 feet", which would be from the first drop, something else I saw said he came out of side of the ride during the turn at the bottom, and others saying he came out on a different hill, where it was going about 50 mph, which wouldn't be the first drop or turn.
  25. Queue my FB news feed blowing up about NEVER RIDIN A COASTER AGAIN.
