Is it possible that you and I share brains? Everything is Football this, and Basketball that and it just infuriates me! -
Dragon Fyre [NL]

^Oh it's not just for rolls. It's to make every single centimeter of track that much less laterally forceful. I haven't downloaded yet as I don't really see the need just yet. Going red literally means nothing by the way. It is much more reliable to look at numbers. Force guidelines: Lateral:+/-1.o (+/- .3 for dive machines) Vertical: +4.5/-1.5 Acceleration: +1.7/-1.7 These are just my guidelines for coasters in general. Because the cars of dive machines are over twice as wide as floorless but have the same heartline, the lateral forces need to be very, very low to lower intensity for the outer seats. Check to make sure there is plenty of room for the wide dive machine cars to navigate the course safely. You're also over supporting abit. The picture of Griffon shows that the supports have a very large diameter and are far and few apart. It would not be uncalled for to use the largest size of tubing. Also take note of the 45 degree angle supports going outward at 30 degrees from the section of track (end of holding brake) at the place where the track and supports are perpendicular. Most of the supports have a 'bridge/tier' connecting them to the track. I say get rid of the tunnel. You've got the general idea of it but it's the specifics where the weakest link is now. Keep up the good work! You've made vast improvements on some of the supports! -
Do Your Friends Know of Your Coasterness?

They do, but accuse the hobby of being gay, which, they're right that I am, but they don't know that (If they did I'd be typing this from my grave). Maybe some GP do know about ACE... I'm certainly not embarrassed. I've got 30,000+ people behind me! Then when their total football nerdiness comes out, I say the same in return and get bombarded! There's no difference! Some people just don't understand. /rant -

Check Kanonen(sp?) in Liseberg. (can't get a link to work) -
Could you please tell me the differences between Alpine Coasters, Alpine Slides, Toboggans, Luges with troughs, and Bobcarts? I know some terminology is mixed and I want someone who has experienced all of them to give me their best comparison. Some of these (especially in Europe) give different names to these types of rides which makes me quite confused.

A European Village LEADING to Africa? Do you mean an encampment/colony IN Africa settled by Europeans? If so, I don't think there would be a fountain wasting precious water out there. It would probably look more rugged, with touches of the nation's culture there as well (French, British, Portuguese, etc.). Anyway, it looks good, even though little has been done. Maybe you could give an update once a week to showcase a multitude of additions all at once instead of only a few in a hour or so. My 2 cents. -
One of the most helpful things is to zoom in as close as you can in side views, both x and y axis. this should get those supports straightened out. Also, there are a number of support tutorials out there that show you how to make good looking supports simply. But, make sure the tutorial is in the B&M style. You don't want Intamin supports on there!

Yes, Hanno, that was what I meant. I'd heard someone mention them in chat. I guess I know why neither of us could get them working. Thanks!

Photo TR: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
mightbeawannabe replied to jedimaster1227's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I think the only reason we're making a big deal about the non-understanding is that we're used to rides and ideas that we can easily comprehend that are very complex and think we're far superior to the GP. Then, when something comes along too simple that the GP easily get, we get kind of pi$$ed off when we aren't the most knowledgable person about theme parks around in public. I'm not a fan, but read the books and understand most of the potter talk because I unfortunately have a great memory. Just my two cents. Hope somebody gets my point... -

^Already been done on Fire Dragon at IOA. I guess now that I've posted I'll contribute in some way. Something like a reverse flying snake dive, as in it enters from the opposite direction. -
This is still grabbing my attention! It is great, and I hope Sea World has seen this thread. Don't they read these forums? I have but two little visual nitpicks- 1-a rail has seperated from the ties on the drop; 2-the inline twist is more corkscrewy. Inline twists are where the track stays in the same pitch and direction for the part that inverts you (130ish degrees). Is what you've done on Manta(full size)? Don't get me wrong, It looks great, but maybe there was a mistake in terminology.

If the que has good themeing to keep me entertained. Do you think it's unreasonable to wait over an hour for a dark ride? Or whatever type of ride Earthquake/Disaster is at USF?

What's Your Coaster Philosophy?
mightbeawannabe replied to Coaster Cow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think that a good coaster needs to be suited to the park. It has a similar theme, atmosphere, and experience that is in the style of the park. You wouldn't expect to find a B&M Megacoaster in a family park in the foothills, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. Now, if it's a terrain woodie in that park, it wouldn't look so out of place. You would expect a high thrill ride from a mainstream company but if they built a small coaster, they might be looked down upon. But, they can also turn that little coaster into a kick a$$ ride to fit the park (ROTM ) So in short, the ride's gotta fit the park. -

Has anyone else had the problem of when turning on your PC, it says that Windows needs to be activated, click 'Activate Now,' and then it says the pre-release version has expired? This happens every time I turn it on and it doesn't seem to affect anything but it's annoying. I might need to call Microsoft to get it fixed. I've already had the code problem as mentioned before and resolved that but this is just ridiculous. I need to reinstall XP.
