  1. https://www.baynews9.com/fl/tampa/attractions/2020/08/18/busch-gardens-tampa-bay-new-park-president Good luck to Neal out In Florida. Hey, at least their parks are open! It’ll be interesting to see if SFMM promotes from within the park or does the SF Park President musical chairs again.
  2. It’s a catch 22, don’t open and can’t make money, you’ll likely go under. Open too soon and get sued because an outbreak happens at your facility, and go under.
  3. Not getting my hopes up. This is uncharted territory. I can't imagine things just returning to business as usual. Hope I'm wrong.
  4. One state being hot and humid obviously won't stop the spread, especially when sick people are still coming in from other places where it isn't hot. They're referring to a warmer US climate as a whole to slow down the rate of infection.
  5. SFMM is just itching to be sold off to another operater. It's always been too much for Six Flags to handle with their cheap, fiscal output. The park has way too much untapped potential to continue to be stifled under the Walmart like atmosphere of Six Flags and their carney like leadership.
  6. Happy “20” to Goliath. I still remember media day like it was yesterday. The coaster was just okay, but the times were great!
  7. I see nothing wrong with opening a new attraction in June or even July. WCR is an extreme example that other parks in the chain shouldn't have to take the blame for.
  8. ^ Perhaps it will run correctly in Canada where they can let it run as it’s suppose to. That was never going to happen in the US, where people constantly walk around with resting “I’m 2 seconds away from complaining” face.
  9. It didn’t ruin it for me. I found WCR surprisingly fun and engaging. The high five one of the best elements in the entire park, and the inversions rather sweet. It’s one of my favorites in the park. Especially after multiple rides. The WCR crews are loading quite fast, so the pit stop isn’t much of an issue now.
  10. I think it’s awesome that TOT is reaching out to its brother here in the states to contribute bits and pieces. That’s how it should be. I’m a big fan of Superman and want to see it stick around at least another decade.
  11. I got few rides on WCR yesterday and I liked it. It's not going to rock anyone's top 30 list, but it's one of those fun additions that once the hype/popularity/memes die down, it will be a solid addition to the park's line up. The ride is surprisingly quirky, the kind of ride parks don't really add anymore. It's light on airtime (there is some if you're really looking for it), but has some pretty snappy transitions and a really disorienting set of elements. Think Windjammer if Windjammer were launched and actually smooth. I rolled my eyes when other people called the ride "fun", but that's exactly what it is.
  12. Not trolling at all, the povs looked short and only 25 sec I have lots of "short" coasters that are amongst my favorites. So again, your point makes no sense.
  13. Whoever is at fault, it's the park that ultimately has to take responsibility regardless. Guests don't care who's fault it is. They care that a ride that was promoted as a summer attraction still isn't open. It will be awhile before they live it down. The jokes will write themselves once the next major ride is announced. Someone would be fired if it were me.
  14. Even if they get it right, plenty of people are still going to hate this ride.
  15. My prediction has remained the same since the delay. The weekend before Thanksgiving. That's if there are no further delays.
  16. I still say Viper's days are extremely numbered. Vortex or no Vortex. I could see SFMM turning to S&S to build a new looper in that spot.
  17. Wasn't confusing for me. I started with the 2 mazes I knew would have the longest waits, Stranger Things and Ghostbusters, then finished up the Backlot area. Went up while everyone else was heading down, and found 20 minute waits for the upper lot mazes.
  18. Maybe i'm old fashion but I think you should want your new attraction of the year open for your peak season. With other parks opening attractions I would personally go to the park with something new to do if I only have one time a year to go to a park. I know, we as enthusiast try to cut parks slack but to open your new for 2019 attraction when there is only like 50 days left in 2019 is kinda bad to me. I don't think anyone here disagrees with you. But it's done. At this point we're looking forward to riding it NOT in peak season, but when the park is dead. SFMM will just market WCR as a new ride all next year anyway, after I've already ridden it several times. Good times...
  19. ^ It may not be too bad. But be advised, forecast will be about 98°. In other news, Apocalypse opened today and is running great!
  20. ^ Yeah... One of the unforseen benefits of SF incompetence is now I'll be able to ride WCR and Apocalypse in the fall/winter without the summer crowds and 100 degree temperatures. Sucks for them, a win for me!
  21. I'd say there is enough blame to go around. I'm not sure you can blame a project manager for a flaw in the design that caused the entire middle section of the ride to have to be built off sight, as well as delays in track fabrication.
