  1. When I think of a car/racing theme for some reason I think of one of those Vekoma Blitz/Firestorm type coasters. Combined with Six Flags loving to adopt a new ride concept (in the US anyway), I wonder if it could be one of these.
  2. ^ Uh...didn't they just name a swing ride Crazanity? That should be the only answer you need.
  3. If it's a Six Flags park, I think expectations should always be "managed" lol. We all know that they can only work within certain financial restraints (which really isn't the park's fault). Still, I think people were pretty caught off guard by Wonder Woman so...
  4. This wouldn't surprise me, despite the slow opening of Crazanity. From what I hear 2019 is a larger project than 2018 including the removal of some of those buildings in Cyclone Bay. An early start makes sense in this case.
  5. Hmmmm...I wonder if Cyclone 500 will survive this new construction???
  6. Fully agree. I had a feeling when I saw the original design that it wouldn't be my thing (inversions don't do much for me), but I also knew it'd be a great-looking ride — one that I'd be as happy to watch as ride. I kept my expectations in check, so the drop and the little airtime drop both surprised me as I thought they'd both be fairly forceless. Also, even though it's quite small, I think the first drop's better than the other beyond-vertical coasters I've ridden, so that was a plus. The rest of the ride was kind of what I expected from back-to-back inversions. Having said that, I think its lack of intensity will make it a good stepping stone for kids who aren't quite sure about the bigger coasters. Very similar reaction to this one as there was to Silver Bullet, and now there is quite an appreciation for it. So it sounds like a perfect addition to Knotts!
  7. Wow...go RMC. They really have taken over. Very pleasantly surprised to see TC rank so well!
  8. Yeah...what the hell are people debating? This got silly really quickly...
  9. This style of ride is still just an "okay" ride concept. Neither version is going to crack many people's favorites list. Actually, while I can't speak from personal experience, I've heard from multiple sources that Insane at Gronu Lund (a clone of Green Lantern) is quite a fun ride, and a massive improvement over Green lantern (despite Insane coming first and GL being a clone of Insane). Apparently whatever Grona Lund does when running Insane is much better than what SFMM's been doing to GL. It even breaks incrediblecoaster's (username "XII" on TPR) top ten steel list http://www.incrediblecoasters.com/Top10SteelCoasters.html. I was speaking more about the S&S versions (since there are more of them). How many people rank those rides highly? Sure they are fun, but beyond that they are barely talked about...by anyone. I know that people love Insane, but unfortunately it seems that ride will remain sort of an anomaly, as the one here sucks, and no one is iching to build another one. So the S&S versions are far more relevant.

  11. ^ I was just going to say, a 300ft tall giga Super Loop sounds like a great addition for the park. It would really ROUND out their coaster collection nicely. I hope that's what they're getting.
  12. I love how compact this ride is. I can't wait to see all the weird and crazy things RMC can do with this track.
  13. I'm surprised Roaring Rapids didn't come out years ago. I'd heard way back when I used to work there how terribly expensive that ride was to run, and it's just not that great a water ride (too dingy and soaking). The park absolutely needs a water ride, but there are some modern rides out there that are more fun while being more energy efficient. If it comes out (or is heavily modified) for a steel coaster, I won't shed a tear.
  14. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever waited in the LL queue! I think I looked inside once, saw the line and the Lex Luther statue, then me and my buddies did the SRL and got on in 5 minutes. I mean, it is advertised on the website, and it's the reason I'm headed to the park today so...
  15. Cedar who? For my money, KD now has my overall favorite coaster line up in the US bar none.
  16. I'm assuming you're happy the rumors of Viper's removal turned out to be false?
  17. Cedar Fair isn't going to open a ride before it's ready. Either it's ready to go this weekend, or it's not.
  18. ^ I'm not sure why this is still a surprise to people. SFMM opens their new rides in May. Seems it's done intentionally to push a late spring boost in attendance.
  19. ^ I see it more like the Batman Backwards deal. It's an low cost gimmick aimed at local spring break teens who have already ridden Drop Of Doom 200 times. They're not losing the experience as they've already done it. This will be a new way to temporarily attract them back to the ride. At least this one keeps with the DC theme
