  1. ^ I would too. However, if they plan on maintaining this 365 day plan, with all of the major stuff opening at the other parks both this year and especially next, they need to stay competitive.
  2. It's not the larger items that slow down the loading process as those obviously go into the storage bins. It's the smaller loose stuff (glasses and small bags) that people think they can ride with (or sneak on) that kill ride's racing. People with smaller, not seen items sit, only to be told that yes they need to place those items in the bins. Meanwhile, everyone else is ready. I think more needs to be done, but these pouches are a good start.
  3. I like the ride too, for the same reasons. But if it were just a few whiners complaining about how uncomfortable the ride is, I'd just ignore it. But the fact that it's almost universally hated by the community, I can only imagine how the public feels about it. I'm not so sure it's going to reopen honestly. The park seems to be looking for excuses not to run it.
  4. I don't see what's so bad about it. It's suppose to be colorful. Besides, they're not done yet.
  5. 300ft Super Loop? It sounds like something Six Flags would attempt. Actually it does... scary
  6. What does that have to do with the ride not being a good fit for SFMM? 1) People in America are notorious pussies, who don't want to deal with any discomfort on their rides. You could pick up Insane, in it's original form, plop it down at SFMM, and people would still complain (granted I'm talking about every day guests...parks don't care much what we think). 2) the capacity at a park like SFMM is atrocious. So much so, that any good will towards the ride would evaporate once people got to the front of the line. People would be ready to hate it.
  7. ^ I disagree that Green Lantern was some great ride SF ruined. From the day that ride started carrying passengers, people hated it. They hated the capacity (at a park like SFMM), and they hated what that ride did to their nuts and shoulder blades. SFMM then made the ride even more uncomfortable with their knee jerk modifications, but it was NEVER a good fit for a park like SFMM. Opening day my friend declared he would never ride it again, and he hasn't.
  8. I still think that if that ride (Green Lantern) ever comes down, it with become an Invertigo garden/Pistachio Park situation for years after. The cost of removing it would be more than the park's budget can spare.
  9. I agree, these new memberships may be the best thing the park has done in years. What an ingenious way to stimulate excitement about visiting the park over and over again.

  11. ^ My hope is that most of those shops will come down, completely opening up that area. Since Apocalypse really isn't enough to attract guests to that area, they will add something that stands out next to it, Or if they were to go cheap, they might RMC it, which ironically would be the second GCI in the state to get the treatment. Can't wait to sit back and watch people flip out if they decided to do it lol As for Green Lantern, I actually like the ride, but I'm afraid that bad boy may be done for!
  12. ^ Yeah I'm not sure SF is expecting robust business right out of the gate. They'll be a period of adjustment. They'll need a good advertisement angle (I haven't seen much yet), new price points and incentives, and well as some big new rides/attractions to draw in tourists as well as locals. Knotts has a great proximity to Disneyland. SFMM will have to find what works. Meanwhile, Spring Break is about a month and a half away.
  13. ^ Hey, at least the new neighborhoods going up behind it don't have to worry about those loud GCI trains!
  14. Stopped by the park for a little bit today. I mean, I can honestly say that from an enthusiast POV it's so great to be able to stop by the park whenever and grab a couple of rides weekend crowd free!
  15. ^ Looks like a coaster from the future. Really good looking ride!
  16. Serious question: why does anybody give a sh*t about which of these rides opens first? Because the first one to open can legit claim the world's first operation Raptor. While that doesn't matter to me, to those still playing the whole Six Flags vs Cedar Fair game, apparently it matters.
  17. Agreed. It's a nice break from the other rides, and it has a certain charm about it. Not every ride built needs to knock everyone's socks off to be appreciated for what it is.
  18. ^ LOL, I know you're probably being funny, but there are a lot of people below Neal (or Bonnie for that matter) who should be on top of those garbage cans. That's just more proof that the entire leadership at SFMM needs to change.
  19. In my opinion, both SFMM and SFGadv should get higher operating, hiring and training and expenditure budgets than the rest of the chain. If both parks are operating within the same constraints as some of the other parks, that might be the problem.
  20. I actually agree with Jew...mostly. I find myself going to the park and just enjoying the coasters I feel like riding that day. The park really doesn't offer much more than that right now. However, visiting SFMM isn't nearly the chore it was a decade ago, where even showing up to ride coasters wasn't really worth the headache. So there HAS been much improvement. The new areas look great, I do like the addition of flat or non coaster rides and I also appreciate showing up to find 90 percent of coasters actually open. So while I agree with Jew that the park still has a long way to go, I do also agree with giving credit where credit is due.
  21. Yeah, I don't think anyone is asking for the park to preform miracles. But there was a time around '98 or so, that SFMM was toe to toe with Cedar Point, and beyond SFGadv. I'd like to see the park hold it's own once again.
  22. ^Bonnie did a great job revamping areas of the park. She wasn't so great in other areas. VERY happy to see Neal back however! I hope he continues the revamp project.
