I'm not quick to tear down coasters at all, but Ghostrider is in a whole 'nother ballpark. That ride had been great for almost 2 decades before it had to be gutted and redone. It's an icon of the park. It's a GREAT coaster. Terminator/Apocalypse not so much. I'm not sure many guests would even know if the ride was gone. That whole corner of the park needs a lot of work, and while I'm not really a big fan of how Six Flags "re-does" its areas, it is nice to know they're atleast going to give it a shot. I'm praying for a Mack or Intamin. A Time Traveler type ride would be OK, but at this point I'm not sure it'd bring me back to the park, and I'm not sure it fits with what the park needs. Man, I miss Deja Vu! I don't think it's a spinner, but something MUCH bigger that will redefine that area of the park. As for Apocalypse, I personally don't think it's that bad at all. But I wouldn't cry if they RMC it. I was just saying that tearing down the ride would be a waste. A conversion of some sort still gets some use out of it.

^ There's a video on line (I don't think it's posted here) of the ride also spinning in place without any swinging involved. So i believe all mechanical aspects need to be tested separately as well as together. I do agree that the Zamperla model is more of a giant swing ride with some spinning involved, rather than the other way around. And for me that's a Godsend because the Huss model makes me sick.

From Screamscape: 2020 - Unknown Tall Steel Attraction - Planning - (6/17/18) "While the previous FAA details had vanished, a reader pointed out a new revised application from the park to the FAA for a height variance for a new attraction. A few little things have changed as well, as instead of a 240 foot attraction, the new application lists only building a structure 210 feet tall above ground level and appears to be complete this time, with the park given permission to go ahead with the project with some new timeline dates for construction to be done between March 1, 2019 and finished by December 31, 2019, which would make this a new attraction for the 2020 season. The location is coming up slightly different as well, as the old coordinates seemed to indicate putting it on the Peanuts Pirates location, instead the coordinates now show it taking over the site of Snoopy's Splash Dance water play attraction". Do people still think this is for a Sky Screamer? Because I don't...

Yes, the last few years they've announced the new rides for all SF parks on the same day at the end of August. With the Cyclone Bay area closing down next month, it looks like SFMM will be getting something big. I'm not getting my hopes up too high since SF hasn't installed a major coaster since X-Flight in 2012. That's not to say the additions haven't been good (RMC conversions, RMC Raptor, S&S 4D, Fu11 Throttle, etc), but something like an Intamin or B&M giga would go against their ride strategy the last few years. However, the company's financial performance has been pretty good lately, so maybe they'll up the budget to compete with all the other recent SoCal theme park additions. Don't forget SFGam Goliath in 2014.

^ Because that was not the style of ride they wanted. If you removed the terrain from around Full throttle, what would be revealed is a very close cousin to the Premier Sky Rocket II featuring a giant Loop/Top Hat element in the middle of it. It was never meant to be much more than that, but it's the size of that loop that gives the illusion some something much more. No one ever asks why there isn't more to Superman up at SFDK, but we do because of the park involved and the ride that it replaced.
