Purely speculation on my part, but it sounds like Dive Devil and Cyclone 500 will be renamed and themed, with Slingshot possibly moving to the cleared out area next to Cyclone 500. The new ride will go across from that with the remaining buildings on the right side getting an upgrade and theme to the new area, and then a re tracked and renamed Apocalypse will reopen with the new ride (probably some sort of duel tracked one trick pony). Also, I hope I'm wrong, but it's sounding more and more like my expectations for all this should remain fairly low. If nothing else, that area should look a lot better and more organized.

I don't get this logic. So if CGA is getting the 20 million dollar Mack, how is SFMM still getting a Mack spinner? Unless we think that suddenly 3 major parks are getting Mack coasters in the next year or so. Possible sure, but probable? That's quite a sudden boom in Mack coasters... Also, is it just me or is this construction area very linear... Like Superman, Xecelerator or even Full Throttle?

I think I'm just tired of bashing the ride, and choosing to look at the positive of what Goliath did for the park. I absolutely would have taken an Intamin, B&M or even Morgan hyper over it. But the ride is nearly 20 years old now, and is what it is. I've moved on to other, more noteworthy rides in the park. And I'm looking forward to what SFMM has in store for 2019, as well as finally getting another hyper up at CGA.

To be fair to the park, there are a couple of important things to note: 1. Has it even been confirmed that there is a lawsuit? 2. Magic Mountain can't just do whatever they want to a ride. It had the approval of Intamin and the state of CA to open. You can armchair engineer all you want, but actual engineers approved it to open. 3. Magic Mountain may not have the best reputation, but I can say with confidence not even they would be grossly negligent in operating a ride. Exactly right! I would also add that SFMM can't just remove a ride when they feel like it. There is a chain of command and much red tape to get past first (not to mention budget approval to do so). Which is often why rides that enthusiasts would just soon wipe off the map, often take years before any action is taken, if it's approved at all.

Tell him what's he's won, Pat! I could see this ride as part of a two ride addition, but as cool as that looks, on it's own this isn't going to be enough to draw guests back who haven't been to the park in years, which I'm guessing with the 365 days a year schedule extension, that's what they're going for with this addition(s). it's just not BIG enough (in terms of scale).

^ I would love to see the park get one more iconic ride like X2, Tatsu or Superman, especially on that side of the park. While Full Throttle ended up being quite fun imo, it just doesn't fit that bill. I'm keeping my expectations mild after what happened with FT, but have to admit I've always thought that back side of the park could use something other than Apocalypse.
