  1. At what point is a wooden coaster not a wooden coaster? I mean, I think traditional definitions of rides is changing. Perhaps it's time to start dropping the confining labels and just go with it.
  2. ^ Agreed. Although you know there will be those that nitpick the ride to death.
  3. ^^I apologize for my earlier post. I didn't realize that you hadn't been around earlier in the thread. I think most of us are approaching TC with a cautious optimism. On one hand the recent handling of some of their attractions is inconsistent at best. On the other hand, if this is their new signature ride, I would think it would be a thing of pride for them, at least for the first few years.
  4. Yes, TC is designed to race (or synch if you will) . How often SFMM will race it is anyone's guess.
  5. I can't tell if you're trolling, or being serious. Either way, it's kind of obnoxious.
  6. The TC train is absolutely stunning. Very happy with what Six Flags is doing next year!
  7. Yep, this is what I counted as well, way back when the announcement was made. They're advertising 18 moments, not 18 straight up airtime hills.
  8. I think I prefer CP's coaster collection slightly more than SFMM. It's more complete. However, SFMM's coasters are grittier if that's your thing. Funny though, I'd take Hershey Park and Busch Tampa over either one. I guess it's just a personal thing.
  9. LOL... I feel like that Giga for Viper rumor has been around longer than the Knotts version. I agree that TC will hold me over for a good while. I'd like to see the park focus on other things for now.
  10. As impressed as I am with WC and TC, I'm more interested in seeing what RMC can do with some original wooden and steel coaster designs. Keep the 'conversions' rather unique to certain parks and not over saturated. More Outlaw Run and Goliath please!
  11. Yeah, I have to admit SFMM rarely follows what the rest of the chain is doing, for better or worse. It's given them a rather unique coaster collection compared to the other parks.
  12. If SFMM finds themselves looking for a large ride on a budget for their 20th, I'd suggest they keep up their recent relationships with either RMC or Premier Rides.
  13. I no longer ride Riddler's Revenge, and it used to be my favorite ride in the park. It's definitely showing it's age, as most of the standups eventually do.
  14. For the first time in a long time I can actually say I'm very happy with what both SFMM and Knotts are adding next year. WCB 2015 has the potential to be the best ever.
  15. Strange...I got the same email and the grammar is fine. We're and We'll Same here.
  16. ... coming from the guy in the state that has Desperado and Manhattan Express. Haven't been on Manhattan Express in years, but I quite like Desperado!
  17. So true. lol Everything hurts in California, all the rides are too rough, have horrible restraints, hurts man parts and is too uncomfortable. People complain about everything. And then everyone wants a mega lite. Californians couldn't handle an extreme ride.
  18. WDW. There is just so much to do. Cedar Point has some stand out coasters, particularly Maverick and TTD, both of which are favorites. But nothing that really draws me back there.
  19. Skyrush and X2 are the other two examples I was thinking of that are non stop "Oh Sh!t" moments from start to finish. Non stop violence, more like! Personally I prefer a good, thoughtful, integrated ride than just a handful of gimmicks. I'm still not sure about Twisted Colossus as I don't find gnarly ejector airtime to be all that and the high-five doesn't appeal to me at all. Out of the RMC creations I've seen (haven't ridden any of them yet), Medusa at Six Flags Mexico looks to be the most appealing to me as the layout is complex and immersive. Although I don't think it'll be a purely gimmicky ride, a single turn to the right wouldn't have gone amiss on Twisted Colossus. A good balance of an immersive, well-paced, complex layout followed by a handful of well-placed "oh poo-poo" moments is my personal preference, and the reason why, despite how rough it can be, I still find Ghost Rider to be one of the best designed coasters around. Right, but you have to admit, if any park could use a gnarly airtime ride, it's SFMM.
  20. Ha. I keep forgetting that RMC will be constructing not just one steep drop, but two!
  21. Yep. Because FINALLY getting stapled on a ride at SFMM, means there's finally a reason. lol
