  1. SFMM will not be laying low in 2016 I'm about 99 percent sure of that. If the trend holds of every park in the chain receiving something, we know the park will add something. A smaller addition that still makes some sort of statement is most likely...
  2. Yeah I know. But if the park is as unhappy with Green Lantern as many others are, I could see them shipping it to another park Deja Vu style.
  3. I think SFMM 2016 is pretty wide open at this point. To bad this is one of those parks that does not drop hints and prefers to be totally quiet up to announcement day. Given that Twisted Colossus really could sustain itself for at least two years, I tend to think 2016 will bring a small addition at best, but who knows? We could see anything from a Larson Loop (most likely), to a Justice League, to an S&S Fly Free. They might also go rouge and add something completely different than what the rest of the chain is doing as they've done before.
  4. ^ I have been on all except Outlaw Run (the one I want the most). I really don't rank coasters anymore either, but for the sake of this thread I think I know how the RMCs would shake out (although I end up changing the order almost daily). Right now I think I like: Medusa Wicked Cyclone New Texas Giant Twisted Colossus Iron Rattler Goliath All of them are among my favorites, so just because Goliath is last, doesn't mean it's not an AWESOME ride.
  5. My issue isn't just with ride ops. It's the entire company being so cheap that they wouldn't even offer a solution when they see there is a potential problem.
  6. There is no "mindset". The ride either duels, or it doesn't, period. And it's not. I'm not paying good money to get into the psychology of the SFMM management. Either you provide results or you cheap out and leave your guests hanging.
  7. Not pessimistic, realistic. The park's operations are among the worst in the industry. It's people making excuses for it, that got us here. Btw, I don't hate the park. If you look back at a lot of my posts I do defend the park with it's being needlessly bashed. But let's not kid ourselves, the operations are the lowest of the low. So much so that I'm always nervous when planning a trip with friends or family. The terrible way the park handles crowds, the lack of ways to keep cool on super hot days, the leaving of trains on break runs seemingly forever in the hot sun because the dispatches are so awful (Tatsu and Yolo being the worst offenders). I could go on, but I won't because I do like other aspects of SFMM. But something needs to be done.
  8. Stop the madness. The ride isn't going to duel. We all knew it wasn't going to from the day it was announced.
  9. ^ It isn't? It's getting harder and harder for me to tell the difference...
  10. Yeah Disney is on a completely different level I should have clarified. I guess I meant your more "standard" amusement park fare. Anyway, great job!.
  11. Basically everything on Twisted Colossus. Because it was SO surreal finally riding a coaster with strong airtime at SFMM!
  12. I couldn't agree more. It's become mostly fanboy bragging rights which takes the fun out of it. I stopped keeping a list a well and just group my favorites as a whole. I've been on 5 of the 7 RMCs, and all of them make that Top group that I'd be willing to travel to ride.
  13. Absolutely spectacular firework show put on by SFMM last night. One of the best I've ever come across at an amusement park!
  14. Six Flags Mexico also has no wooden coaster since Medusa got converted. And from what I'm hearing, the same will happen to SFDK in 2016.
  15. To me , complaining about too many vertical drops is like complaining that a park has too many airtime hills. Seriously? I wish every coaster could start with a vertical drop!
  16. I doubt any loading video would be about loose articles anyway, but rather encouraging guests to move quickly into their seats, fastening seatbelts and waiting for an op to lower the restrants. I can't be sure from that picture where that screen is being placed. Is it right above the loading part of the queue? It also seems odd to add screens for cartoons with the screampunk music already playing so loudly in the station. I guess we'll see...
  17. I can see wanting to get the ride open with the less important stuff added later.
  18. All of the Larson Loops are running beautifully!
  19. ^ People would actually prefer the walk of shame after 3 ride ops try to pry down their restraints in front of a whole platform of people? Yikes.
  20. I have to say, I've been very impressed by the TC crew. But they need to be armed with the tools to make dispatching the trains much faster. A test seat, mandatory storage units, and a strict loose article policy. TC and Full Throttle need video screens to show the loading process (including seatbelts). Otherwise, I don't care how good they are, it's not going to work.
  21. My list has changed a bit. 1) I305 2) Maverick 3) El Toro 4) Medusa (SFM) 5) Skyrush 6) Fury 325 7) Wicked Cyclone 8) Twisted Colossus 9) New Texas Giant 10)Lightning Run Honorable mention: The Legend Gold Striker Bizarro The Voyage X2 Thunderbird
  22. Goliath, no matter what you think of it, has been a steady workhorse for 16 years. Why are people complaining again?
  23. I never get burnout on coasters themselves, but I do get awfully tired of the hassle it often takes to ride them. The lines, the rude or dismissive employees, slow loading times and obnoxious guests wear on me more so now than before.
