Madonna - "Confessions World Tour 2006"
USCoaster replied to live2tell75's topic in Random, Random, Random
Is Wembley going to be open? According to the Wembley site, Robbie Williams is having to move his concerts in September. I'm not sure if its because it won't be done, but I would think that would be the only way they could get out of a contract to hold an event there. -
Ultra Twister coming to Six Flags America?
USCoaster replied to quazi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hate to say it, but I love the PTC's on the GCI's. Yeah, they are rougher than the MF trains, but the shuffle the PTC's need to do to track the curves makes the ride feel much more out of control. -

I have a dead pop star wanting to be my friend. I'm still trying to decide if I should approve her just so I can say I'm friends with a dead pop star. -
Amazing water slides
USCoaster replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what I've heard of this slide, the description at the bottom of the page linked above is pretty accurate. I also seem to recall someone mentioning that there was a door in the top of the section between the ramp and the loop in case you didn't make it over (which sounds very painful). -
So Cal Waterpark Thoughts?
USCoaster replied to Rugged One's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been to Raging Waters and Hurrican Harbor, and while I preferred Raging Waters, I'm not sure I can go there again since they took out their best attraction for a racing slide. And during both of my trips to Raging Waters, the crowds were never as bad as during my one trip to SFHH. Maybe it was just the day, but I think we did maybe 3 slides during the 2-3 hours we were there. I have never had a problem hitting everything I wanted to at Raging Waters. RIP Raging Rivers. -
What is the big deal about Stitch?
USCoaster replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I think the thing about Stitch that attracted people the most were the promos from the original movie where he harasses the other Disney characters. They did spoofs of Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Alladin that were hilarious and then once the movie came out, Disney was able to keep up the hype they had created during the promotion. Stitch is the one Disney main character that was created to speak to your mischevious side and I think it stuck with a lot of people. -
WeHo = West Hollywood, CA. Essentially the town stuck between Los Angeles/Hollywood and Beverly Hills. And the major gay area of Los Angeles. And my friend wasn't a big enough fan to go over and say hi.

I went and saw him perform "Feel" on both Leno and Craig Kilborn and he was awesome. He gave Simon Cowell a lap dance on Leno, and grabbed Mike Myers bum during the performance. And my friend saw him at Jerry's Famous Deli in WeHo one night.

He did in the Rock DJ video.

^ Its a threat to national security???

^He is very famous all over the world... Except here in the States. And I think he has accepted that and isn't going to try to break the states for a 4th time. He even let Jessica Simpson cover his song Angels (and may she rot in hell for it!!!!). I think the singles he released here were Angels, Millenium, Rock DJ, Something Stupid (with Nicole Kidman) and Feel. He also did the cover of Beyond the Sea that is featured on the Finding Nemo soundtrack.

OMG!!!! I am soooo jealous!!! My friend and I considered trying to see Robbie in Dubai. Just so we had a reason to go. I hope you have a blast.

PTR: Ryan does the WAC Tourney in Reno
USCoaster replied to Bush985's topic in Random, Random, Random
Welcome to hell!!! Oh wait... umm Reno. I guess the question is, do you have the 1 credit Reno has (thats open year round)? According to the Wild Island site, the Wildcat (Not quite a Hi-Miller) is open Fri, Sat, and Sunday and you get 2 rides for $4. -
Video Clip: INSANE SPINNING DELLS RIDE!!!!
USCoaster replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome video. I have managed an insane ride on the strawberry version of this at the local fair. Other memorable rides were an insane Wisdom Tornado (they must have just oiled it or something cause it was very easy to spin) and one great ride on the monkey pot ride at SFMW when the ride-op informed the riders that the last pot spinning got a second ride. (Last time I rode the one at SFMW, I couldn't make it go as fast.) And I had a ride on the Hat Dance at Knotts that left us sitting there for a minute or so before we could stand up. -
Nintendo to launch theme park
USCoaster replied to Robbie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I saw picks of this set up in Japan and they went all out with the theming of the rides to the different pokemon characters. I looked and can't find the pics anywhere though. Slightly related. They released a special Metalic Blue Pokepark Nintendo DS when the park opened and it looks like Walmart has them for sale for $129. -
Mundo Divertido Tijuana

I don't think the American's are part of the problem, I just think they end up the easy targets because of their reasons for going to TJ. -

Mundo Divertido Tijuana
USCoaster replied to coaster1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what I've heard, its OK to take your car into Mexico... as long as you don't stop in TJ. The further south you get, the safer it gets. TJ just has the problem of being right on the border and being a run-down tourist trap/college hangout for those people just wanting to "visit Mexico" for a couple hours. -

FYI. If you log on to the WiFi today (Feb 14) Nintendo is sending out letters, bulletin board posts and a free item. Not as cool as the Mario coin, but free. -
I really do think that Six Flags has figured out that in most cases, families will spend more inside the park than teens. If you are taking your family to a theme park, most people prepare to spend money. Assuming you can find some coupon at (insert grocery store/fast food place here) for admission, its a lot easier to feed the family in park then try to make it someplace off-site for lunch. And how many teens/locals with season passes actually buy anything during a visit. Teens usually don't have enough money to pay the inflated food costs. And as Disneyland has found out, many locals just show up for a couple hours in the morning/evening when the park is less crowded as a kind of social hour. I think marketing towards families is the only way Six Flags is going to dig themselves out of the financial hole Premier Parks made. They will still put in the coasters and big rides, but it will be returning to the every couple of years schedule with smaller updates and improvements during "off" years.

Anybody have any idea where in the park this is going to go? I can't really think of any spots that would be long enough and wide enough for this ride. The only locations it might fit in are Tidal Wave/Greased Lightning (width is the major issue), somewhere along the old train berm along the front of the park, or the picnic area.

More like "Stupid cheap Walt Disney Company." And Yay for the Oriental Land Company wanting to spend money on their parks. -
And once she turns 18 and is too old for the Harry Potter films, she will already have her porn name.
