  1. And I'm registered, finally. www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/chadster/Valleyfair2013
  2. ^Not being able to take my potato on a ride pisses me off to no end. Boycott CGA!
  3. Talked with the producer this morning, the Saturday taping sounds quite exciting!
  4. Sending in an e-mail later tonight.
  5. ^You welcome, and glad you enjoyed And thanks to everyone for your kind words, it means a lot. I'll be posting a teaser as to what's to come in the next few weeks
  6. My best guess is they're either invisible or haven't been installed yet. The airgates are coming from wildcat. They needed a train parked in the station to be able to line everything up properly. It won't take them but a few days to get them installed once they are ready to.
  7. I was in the area Saturday gathering material for a future project and swung by and took a few fotos. Yup, looks deserted. Stupid fence. Not.Tall.Enough. Luckily some wood had rotted and made a hole. And then I was able to get a shot between an ACEr's legs. And trust me, that's hard to do. (Hint: thighs) Moving on. Road to Six Flags is getting a much needed pavement rehab. Or replacement. Whatever you call it, it's about time. So yeah. With the weather kicking some serious niceness butt, it's a shame the park hasn't been open the last month. Ah well, only 4 more weeks.
  8. ^That mini spinner is actually quite fun off balanced, even better with a few beers. And you are right, most of the rides are leased, many coming from South Texas. I'd rather pay the $30 versus buying $60 in ride coupons, that's for sure.
  9. The thread will still be on the forum unless someone goes through the trouble of deleting it, I just won't be posting to it anymore. As far what's next, you'll see

  11. All good things must come to and end, and today marks the end of this thread. While it's always possible that it will be dusted off, re-incarnated, and brought back with more enthusiasm, off the wall captions, and unique places, for now, it's received it's walking papers. So to end this thread I visit one of my favorite parks in the U.S., Sea World Orlando about three weeks ago. I couldn't have asked for better weather, the rides and attractions looked great, and it honestly had me thinking, why Texas and not Orlando? It is sad, however, that what was once a great restaurant has relegated itself into an overpriced and underwhelming buffet, Antarctica on the other hand will surely be a great addition and I look forward to its opening. So sit back, relax, and enjoy. Full albums of photos from this trip and others can be found on my facebook page, just click to the left. Only time will tell what I bring next, but you can sure it will top what's be done in this thread. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to bringing something new and exciting in the future! Welcome to one of my favorite parks in the U.S. If you can't guess what it is, well, you suck! Something is missing here.... Here it is! Only the best flying coaster ever built. Fact. Just hanging out, catching some rays Best.Element.Evar. Meanwhile, let's head over to another kick ass B&M Such a scenic, peaceful place, save for the bird crap that is. What a life. Feed me your children Apparently Californian's hate these guys, I on the other hand, happen to think they are quite entertaining. Catch the bird! Over at Steve Irwin's nightmare. Nice and slimy, except not. Be a hero, not a zero Goodyear blimps docked at sea Watchyoulookingat? The infamous three legged turtle Journey was getting needed repairs all over, I'm hoping they continue to spruce up the effects as they've gotten a really good start. Fencing creates ripples, learned that on Gold Rush. Two watching, two working. Noted. Back to Kraken, I attempted an artsy shot. See that empty train? They were running TWO of them. A park that loves it's guests. Pro tip: Plat Pass = 2 rides, or more if they like you. See? Empty. Just in case you wanted to see more rehab work. Obligatory photo spot that everyone must have their picture taken in front of. It's a requirement. No fruit loops here. No studs either. Be a Hero! "I got my eye on you kid" Secondary obligatory photo spot Time to cross the pond and head out. Bye Kraken! See you soon! Bye awesome view! See you soon! And bye to this thread, see you all soon! Thanks for reading and all of your support, it has really meant the world to me!
  12. Here are some crappy photos from today Also check out this video of the LED lights for the motor house More foto here. Yup. I'm in Texas now. Hey look, it's a Wacky Shack! I'm told it will be open during the summer. The observation tower doesn't appear to be near as tall as the radio tower. I'm sure the flagpole accounts for some of the height. Fair Park is more than just a fair, its full of Art Deco. If you love Art Deco, you have to come to the park. It's open year round with several museums and what not to check out. Literally you could spend 4-6 hours here. Yawn. Tower. Looks.Thrilling. OH OH OH Dirt! MORE DIRT! But are you really? Ok, enough. It's a large pole out of the ground. Incidentally I would almost bet it will draw the 30-45 minute wait that the wheel does during the fair. Big Tex lived here. And that's all. The Summer Adventure Park has great promise. I'll be there when it opens to check it out.
  13. Looks like the tower, which should be open for the Summer Place Park, is on its way up with some incredible views! I'll try to get by there this weekend or next and acquire some porn. Linky
  14. I would hope over the course of 50 years he could turn an average profit of 2 million a year. That would at least pay for the investment in the park and put a little cash in his pocket.
  15. Looking at doing Valley Fair as it will cross off the last of the Cedar Fair parks for me. Sadly, doubt I will be able to stay for the entire day.
  16. I don't find it humorous at all that they are considering a private sale to SF's vs going public. Apollo, meh. Can they(Apollo) even close the deal, it's possible, I mean they couldn't close the deal with Cedar Fair. Both options have pros and cons, okay, only one has pros and cons, the other has cons.
  17. How long did it take for SF to file bankruptcy after the last major buy-up? This has serious fail written all over it.
  18. You never know what Six Flags has up their sleeves. It could sit empty like that for 2 or 3 years. OR perhaps they might put in a few kick ass flat rides
  19. Has any checked his ACE affiliation by chance?
  20. Look, I told you that has cleared up, been a year and hasn't come back.
  21. ^And now that I live near SFOT, it's more of a reason!
